Excellent doctor, awful front desk and back office staff. Honestly, we really like Dr. Scroggs, but it is pretty hard to get past the unprofessional and rude staff you deal with every time you walk in the office — like they are doing you a favor for letting you come. I agree with other reviewer, they nickel and dime you at every turn and treat you like you are purposefully trying to evade payment. The fine doctors should seriously consider cleaning house and hiring all new staff.

Let me first say we love Dr. Scroggs, he has taken wonderful care of my family for years. I was shocked when I went to make an appointment and the person behind the desk told me the I had been dispatched from their practice. When I asked why, I was told there was a 27 dollar charge that had not been paid. Now I had no knowledge of this charge and I am sure it was a difference between what they charged and what our insurance covered.
I requested to see the office manager Rebecca so I plead my case but I was told she was in in a meeting. I did finally meet with a very hostile bookkeeper who said it was my fault.
I don’t know what the cost of getting 4 new clients would be but I would think that after paying what they claimed I owed they still would not schedule an appointment, I’ve been dispatched…

In the past 40 years, I have been involved with a host of doctors in the Bay Area and LA. Without a doubt Dr Scroggs is the most most outstanding physician of the group. The staff at Carolina Ophthalmology are well trained, organized and run an efficient clinic. This a true reflection of his professionalism. From my experience, Dr. Scroggs is very devoted to resolving patient eye problems and never hesitates to go the extra mile to ensure resolution of your problem. Dr. Scroggs accepts calls at home, in the case of emergency, and when out of the office updates fellow physicians so they are able to assist you in his absence.
