My daughter started with Blue Moon Stables riding as a complete newbie at 7 years old in January 2016. I’m also a newbie and don’t know my way around the stable so started off pretty nervous. The lessons started as a Christmas gift from my mother in law who is very comfortable around horses. Almost 6 months later, my daughter is killin it! Cara has a strong demeanor in her leadership role, clear expectations, a confident voice for kid and horse and obvious horsemanship chops. Cara is supportive and uses a great style for rider corrections. One day, a horse(who is since gone from the stable) was acting up and actually tried to buck a teeny bit. Cara stopped that behavior in the horse immediately and switched horses(then sold that horse). I feel I can trust her experience with my little girl. I love how she has even a young rider caring for the horses from the get-go with brushing, readying the tack and saddle and leading. Never thought I’d see my daughter so comfortable riding at a trot and starting to learn about diagonals(what?) so soon.

I have about a year’s background in hunt seat and was nervous to try saddleseat, but Cara has been great and very accommodating to my schedule. I have had so much fun riding Doc and definitely recommend Cara and Blue Moon Stables for anyone interested in general horsemanship as well as learning saddleseat. I brought a fellow hunt seat/dressage friend out for a lesson and she absolutely loved it. I think learning saddleseat has helped me improve in other riding disciplines and I will definitely be going back!

Regarding Blue Moon & Cara Wolf– Been around horses for 40+ years now and I think I’m a pretty good judge of other horse people — especially those who call themselves«trainers». Let me just say that it is a rare time when you meet someone with Cara Wolf’s qualities — which are easily defined as she is not just a good equine«trainer» but all that encompasses that title from grooming to individual care of all horses under her supervision. In spite of hot/cold wet/dry weather she is «out there» training, she is dedicated — she can even«speak» to people regarding their issues — There are perhaps a few good trainers out there but relatively few who can explain/talk to their customers/riders etc about their discipline — their mistakes and how to correct them. It is a pleasure to watch Cara work customer’s horses ours included! — but please believe me when I say she is tops — not just writing this ’cause she works my horses — I’d not participate if I did not sincerely feel this way. Good Luck Blue Moon — we like what we see!
