Allergy Partners of Metro DC – Dr. Jiun Yoon

I have been going to Allergy and Asthma Care Centers for over 3 years now and would recommend it to anyone with allergy/​asthma concerns. Dr. Yoon has made an effort to build a rapport with me (knows me on a first name basis) and makes seeing him for appointments in the office easy, respectable, and efficient. He spends time getting to know your current concerns and focuses on making you feel better. As someone who is in the office monthly for shots, I can say with confidence that he, as well as the staff (Elizabeth and Yenni), always make me feel welcome and cared for as their patient which is comforting and important to me, especially in a doctor’s office. I get better service at Allergy and Asthma Care Centers than any other physician I have seen in the Northern VA area and highly recommend them.

When my dear daughter was a baby, she had allergies. Other doctors claimed that her eczema on her cheeks and inability to keep her milk down was due to «reflux,» but as a mama, I just KNEW… After testing, it was confirmed: food allergies. Dr. Yoon clearly discussed what all the results meant, and he made it easy to figure out how to move forward.
By age 2, she outgrew her dairy (including egg), wheat and soy allergies — thank goodness — but she still maintained her peanut allergy. That was more manageable, and again, Dr. Yoon provided a plan for managing the allergy and what her numbers meant in a practical way.
Fast forward to five years later. My youngest daughter, who was free of food allergies as far as we knew, broke out in hives out of nowhere. It concerned us. A lot. Having relied on Dr. Yoon in the past, we leaned on him again. He thankfully told us it was merely a virus and even recommended what we could expect with our coming days. We have been extremely thankful for Dr. Yoon and know we will continue to rely on him for years to come. He is knowledgeable about his expertise, provides detailed and practical advise, all with a fun and friendly demeanor on top of it all. Thank you, Dr. Yoon!

I recently took both of my kids to see Dr. Yoon for allergies. He and the staff made us, and especially the kids, at ease with the entire process. He listened to everything we had to say and made sure to include the children in the discussion. He explained the process in a way that we all could easily understand. The nurses were also very gentle with the children and explained each step of the process so that they were not surprised. It really helped to reduce the anxiety that they had about getting allergy testing. Dr. Yoon was detailed about the results and came up with a treatment plan that we all felt comfortable with. He included simple steps we can make in the house and when outdoors to help with the kids’ allergy symptoms. He was also great about helping me understand how the medications work and how to use them. I would highly recommend Dr. Yoon.

I liked Dr. Yoon at first but I will no longer see him because the last time I went to him he wasn’t very friendly and made me feel like I wasted my time visiting him. He is close minded, condescending, and does not really care about his patients. The staff was great though. His stomach is obviously full.
He is this type of doctor: Take the medications and don’t even bother trying to look for alternative solutions. Deal with it because you have to live with this for the rest of your life.
Update: Good to hear he is being nicer.
