I’m writing this after midnight on a Monday because of the following: I switched to a new room on Sunday to avoid any more break ins and now I am rudely awoken from 15 minutes of harsh pounding on a neighboring room. A drunk, red-haired, half-naked man is standing outside pounding on a room. I immediately call security and she rushes over. She sees him naked and asks me to call reception to call the cops. By this time the Clarion Inn staff and I know each other on a name basis. I ask Crystal to call the cops and rapidly head back into my room. Keep in mind, I need to wake up in less than 5.5 hours for an 11 hour work day. 15 minutes later security comes back and lets him into the room he’s been banging on. I ask what happened and they say he is super drunk and locked himself out of his room. NOTEONMYLASTEXPERIENCE: On Saturday, I asked the receptionist(the one who made the terrible error of giving a key to a woman stranger) about that experience from 4:11am and not only did I find out that she gave the key to the unknown woman. But she did that after I told her to not let her in. Not to mention there was a man with her trying to get into my room. I finally switched rooms on Sunday at 4p, only to get a call from a different receptionist, Crystal, at 11:30p asking if I knew who was in that room presently. I explained that I had already returned my key and have no clue. I ask Crystal why and she tells me someone has occupied that room after I switched from there, as evidenced by the used towels and messy bed. Who knows what could have happened if I hadn’t switched rooms. I would have probably come back to strangers in my room! PROSOFCLARIONINN: I feel I need to temper my harsh words with the positive aspects of this Inn. 1. Free WiFi. 2. Pool 3. Half-court for basketball 4. Restaurant with early breakfast and dinner, looks like no lunch. Decent food with great wait-staff. 5. Bar with pool table and darts. 6. TV with decent channels 7. Hot shower with good water pressure. 8. Typically clean rooms and fairly comfy beds with daily cleaning staff. 9. Fridges and microwaves in nearly every room. 10. Close to restaurants and shops. CONCLUSION: Draw your own. But, I need to switch hotels.

Safe hotel, clean rooms. If you’re a business traveler, do not stay here — the internet is absolutely horrible. I tried two different rooms, thinking it might be the wifi range signal. On full bars I could still not get a page to load under 45 seconds, not even in the lobby could I get anything started. 8 Minutes away there is a Starbucks with fast internet, did all my work there. In this day and age, internet is so important for a traveler, especially foreign travelers like myself. Staff was nice, rooms were OK, restaurant had little supplies, won’t stay here again myself though.
