Econo Lodge

Did a xcountry in 1Q of 2013.
Stopped for the nite and it was clean and comfortable.
Best was the restaurant claiming best steak in OK.
It was the only steak we had…
Yes it was one of the best!
Great place for breakfast too…
Had coffee w/​highway patrol too…

We weren’t too sure of the motel because it looked old and worn. My husband knows I am picky so he asked to see the room before we checked in, just in case. The room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. The lobby could use some spucing up but our room was nice. The carpet was older but clean and it did not smell like smoke or the air freshener smell you sometimes find. The night clerk recommended the restaurant for breakfast. It was really good.

I checked into Chandler, OK Econo Lodge at 6PM on the 3^rd night of my 5 week road trip. I chose Econo Lodge because of the Choice Hotels Rewards program. Their restaurant was filthy so I just had a sandwich. I returned to the room and saw the inside of the door was covered in grime with a large smear of blood. The security lock did not work. The bathroom was disgusting. After thinking about it, I re-​packed my car and went to the office asking for a refund because of the conditions of the room. She refused my refund saying the manager would arrive in a few hours and to wait. I declined and left. A few miles further down the road I stopped at another motel telling them I would have to see the room 1^st. She laughed saying You must have just been at the Chandler Econo Lodge. We hear that all the time!. I cringe thinking about it. Absolutely the most disgusting experience of my entire trip. Visa refunded my $ 71.17.

We stopped here after a long night of driving on I-​40. Though we were grateful they had a room for us, nothing seemed to be up to par. The windows were coated with a gross film and the room smelled bad and was not thoroughly clean. There was no continental breakfast in the morning. They did offer coffee, but every time we went down the pot was empty. I would not recommend this place to anyone. If you are driving, maybe wait until the next exit.
