My first experience here was awesome! The service was friendly and the atmosphere was really nice. Great pricing and lots of variety of items to choose from. During my visit in December, one of the ladies who worked there advised me that I could come in and do pottery or make my own pottery, paint etc. I asked her if they were instructor led or not and she said some were but I don’t need an instructor. I came in with a child on Saturday April 2nd and wanted to make our own pottery and the young lady at the counter advised that the instructor wasn’t there and they don’t know much about how it all works etc. I advised her it was fine and that I was previously advised I didn’t need an instructor and she said that’s fine, she just wanted us to know that they can’t instruct us which was fine. There was an older lady helping the child with me set up her area meanwhile she ignored me even though I was in the corner struggling to put the wheel together etc. She came by at least 8 – 9 times and turned her head the other way and acted like she didn’t see us and didn’t ask if we needed help meanwhile the people next to us painting, she gladly assisted them and smiled at them and went above and beyond for them. I ignored it, but child with me asked if something was wrong with us that she was treating us so rudely so I realized I wasn’t imaging it. I tried to flag her down multiple times by saying excuse me and she ignored me each time so I was like forget it. Then I just gave up on trying cause she made it clear she didn’t want to help me. She finally asked us if we were done and we said yes, so she tells my niece«since you kept your area clean and didn’t make a mess like her, you’ll just need to clean this part off and you’ll be all done.» She said it in such a rude manner and there was no need to say that to a child, it’s making clay pieces, it’s not supposed to be a clean experience it’s supposed to be messy! This made me just want to pay the extra fees at As You Wish and deal with friendlier people than this and never come back here! But I will return because I’m not going to let one person ruin my experience, there are others there who are super friendly, but someone needs to speak to this woman regarding her attitude. I told the young lady up at the register and she acknowledged that it wasn’t right, but I want to make sure someone says something to her. Update for Cheryl T: I was there on a Saturday night, not Friday. I understand that I was on my own, that was not the problem, I understood that when I was advised, the problem was the rudeness and me calling on someone to help and I was ignored which was not addressed.

Fun, place! We walked in after brunch down the street and the staff was very friendly and greeted us. Everything was explained on what was offered. We wondered around and looked at the different items. And then chose a fun item to paint for pottery. They have items from bowls, cups, plates, ornaments, etc. They also allow canvas painting and certain classes for glass and other crafty items. Upon checking out the employee provided as a coupon for an additional 20% off what a nice gesture. The place is clean and professional, we plan to bring friends or kids with us next time.

5 stars, hands down! I took my 6 year old niece here for a ‘date’ on a Saturday afternoon. The girl working was so sweet and helpful. Tons of big tables for big or small groups, great activity for a family. There was also a kids’ party going on in the back that looked like a blast as well. I highly recommend and can’t wait to go back!

«Think left and think right and think low and think high. Oh, the thinks you can think up if only you try!» ― Dr. Seuss Linh L. and I strolled in one day after paletas across the way from Burst of Butterflies and what a surprise! From the outside, you wouldn’t even know what a treasure trove this place is. They have lots of pottery for you to paint and lots of fun classes to attend like paint class, glass fusion stuff, soap and candle making, and other workshops. When we stumbled in, breaths sweet from yummy fruity ice pops and agua frescas, a glass fusion class was being held in the back room. I was most interested about this class as all the work that was on display and being sold were gorgeous. They have a Unilocal Deal you can purchase as well! I’d love to come back and try my hand at glass fusion.

Great little find. Took my granddaughter here to celebrate her birthday as she wanted to paint on canvas. They have all the tools to make everyone feel successful no matter their personal skills. The place was clean and very well organized. Will definitely be returning.

I brought my two daughters and friend here to paint some ceramics for Father’s Day. I used the Unilocal coupon towards our six items. I thought the pricing was very reasonable. While we only painted ceramics, it looks like they have classes to do all kinds of things. The service was superb. All of the staff members were friendly and helpful, and I like that it’s a family business. They even shipped one of our items that needed to go to Seattle(it was a giant raccoon).I’ll definitely be coming back.

Good pricing. No Studio Fee. Very friendly service. Everything was clean and organized and a great selection of pottery to choose from. Love this place. Will come back often. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. This might sound weird but the music here is just awesome. Old songs that usually don’t play on the radio anymore are played here!!! *Update I received my fired piece and my bowl had two major chip in the rim and there was some random paint that dripped on the product. I expected my pottery piece to be taken care with more care. Since this is the first time, I think I’ll give it another chance.

While staying at a nearby hotel, i took a stroll and came upon this place. The studio is nicely decorated with finished glass, pottery and paintings for sale. You can also make your own. I bought a pendant and painting for my nieces. They even shipped it for me. The staff was very friendly.

I was so relaxed while painting my ceramic piece. The atmosphere was fun and collaborative, and everyone was having a good time. It was much better other«chain» type places, and we were surprised there was no studio fee. My piece was fired in a couple of days and looked fantastic!

I found this place on Unilocal and got the $ 28 for $ 50 voucher deal so I decided to give this place a try. Burst of Butterflies is a new place but it’s definitely one of those passionate family-run businesses that put customer service as a priority. We arrived at around 4:30PM on a Saturday to do some pottery painting and it felt very«exclusive» since we were the only 2 there(awesome). The outside area was very artsy, cute and romantic. There were a couple visitors came by to ask for more info about the classes. They played top hit songs in the background. They have a variety of pottery to choose from as well as a lot of colors for paints(both sparkles and regular!), brushes, sponges, etc. We paid $ 15 for each mug(3 for $ 45) which include«unlimited painting» and they even fire for you(free)(pick up a few days later)! The owner and her daughter were very friendly and attentive. After finishing, we did not have to wash or clean anything because they offered to do it for us(which I feel kinda bad about). We had a great time and will definitely coming back again in the future. P. S. It’s walking distance to Paletas Betty(ice cream) = a big plus.

Great place to paint pottery or canvas any time, or register for many great classes in clay wheel throwing, glass fusing, scrapbooking and more. Host your event or party in the great party room.

I love personalizing functional items by hand-painting them at pottery studios. Burst of Butterflies recently opened in downtown Chandler, and the space is a charming spot featuring affordable pieces you can make your own however you’d like. I made salt and pepper shakers($ 16 for the set), while my companion made a one-of-a-kind mug. You’ll pay a nominal painting fee, but in January, it’s waived. The atmosphere was relaxed, the staff was friendly and helpful, and we had a great time painting. Burst of Butterflies also has canvas painting, ceramics, soapmaking, glass fusing, drawing, jewelry, scrapbooking, quilting, needlepoint, crochet, sewing, metalwork and candlemaking offerings. No matter what type of arts and crafts interest you have, there’s something for everyone.
