Great little cookie shop! Prices are very reasonable! Lots to choose from too! Cookies are awesome! I love the peanut butter! My husband loved the buttercream sandwiches. Will keep going back when we want cookies :) location is not bad at all either

Best cookie place in town!!! Ed is the nicest owner there is. My birthday always lands on the weekend it seems in summer and he will open up just so we can pick up a cookie cake and double doozies. His cookie cakes are AMAZING. And don’t even try the double doozies because you will be addicted. Great local place with great treats at great prices!!! Thank you Cookie Jar!

I’ve been coming here since I was 6 years old and it hasn’t changed one bit! Ed is the nicest man and now that I’ve moved he ships me frozen cookies and most importantly, my original b-day cookie cake! I recommend the chocolate chip cookie, the toffee cookie, or the butter cream cookie sandwich(with vanilla frosting). The only problem with the Cookie Jar is you can’t just stop with one cookie! I often go twice in one day!

I wanted a good dessert after I was unable to find doughnuts on National Doughnut Day. The Good: — The cookies are just delicious. I’ve tried the snickerdoodle and chocolate chip buttercream sandwich, and both were very good. However, the buttercream sandwich was extremely sweet, but that is exactly what I expected. — The prices are reasonable. I got three sugar, two snickerdoodles, two chocolate chunk, two chocolate chip brownies, and two chocolate chip buttercream sandwiches for about $ 13, which is great! — The service here is great. It’s a small place, but I was the only one there at the time, so I got really great service from the woman there. She seemed like she enjoyed working there, which is rare in a college town and appreciated. The Meh: — The location is convenient, but I have walked down sixth street many times before, and have never noticed this place! More obvious signage may be beneficial. Overall: I would definitely come back. My friend, my fiancé, and I all enjoyed the cookies, and their prices are reasonable!

Absolutely Outstanding Service!!! The Best! I highly recommend this place! First of all, the minute you call this place, the phone is answered professionally with someone who is extremely friendly and helpful. This was not the case with other cookie and other places I called. I called in a panic for cookies for my daughter’s birthday, which I needed that day. Kimber at the Cookie Jar, was amazing. She took the time to patiently and helpfully go through all the cookies and options. When I said I needed them delivered that evening but the delivery person had already left, I admit being a bit persistent that I REALLY needed them«today» because it was my daughter’s birthday. Kimber contacted the owner Ed, who came back to his store and personally delivered the cookies to my daughter! Within just a couple hours of my last minute phone call, my daughter had 3 dozen cookies! and Kimber even beautifully decorated the box with«Happy Birthday». It saved the day for me, and made my child very happy, which made me very happy. Oh — and the cookies I was told were yummy delicious! Thank you very much to Ed and Kimber of the Cookie Jar! You guys went above and beyond and have truly outstanding customer service!

The price is right and so is the location. Cookies were ok but not mind blowing good. I tried the double chocolate chip, chocolate chip walnut and chocolate chunk. The chocolate chunk was by far the best of the three. There was a lot of choco chunks and they were still a little gooey. Yum! I wasn’t that big of a fan of the chocolate chip walnut. There were lots of walnuts on top but the cookie was almost cakey with not enough choco chips. The double choco cookie was fine. A bit flat, in flavor and literally. For around 65 to 70 cents per cookie, go check it out for yourself.

I was at the University of Illinois for many years and since then have never found a place with cookies as good as The Cookie Jar has. Hands downs, best cookie is the Buttercreme Sandwich. It obviously can’t be that healthy for you, but what do you expect? The other cookies are just as good, I remember when I was there they had Reese’s Pieces cookies that were incredible and unique. The cookie cakes are the best cookie cakes I’ve ever had, better than any mall cookie shop. If you are ever on Sixth Street, make a quick stop inside, say hi to Ed(nicest owner in the world), and buy as many cookies as possible, you won’t regret it.

OMG! Their cookies are delicious! I had the peanut butter cookie(awesome!), rice krispy treat(delicious!), ice cream sandwich(okay…), & the sugar cookie(pretty good…). They do accept credit cards, but only on orders that are $ 5 or more.

Very friendly staff, and delicious cookies. Are they fancy and unique flavors likely to be featured in gourmet magazines? No. Are they straight-up delicious? Absolutely! The cookie sandwich, as other Unilocalers have mentioned, is alright; essentially a cookie broken in half with frosting slathered in the middle. I wouldn’t go out of my way to pick up one of those, but would definitely make trips back again and again and AGAIN for one of The Cookie Jar’s mixed berry cookies – packed with dried berries, oatmeal, hint of butterscotch… it’s a winner. We actually got some cookies to go, ate that one first, and turned right back around to go get 2 more.
