Like any local, old-​time, real-​deal hardware store you will be surprised at all they stock, somewhere, somehow in their nooks and crannies. If you want to be able to get informed, generous, available help and supplies minutes away, support your local businesses. This one embodies the reasons why. Sure, sometimes you pay a little bit more than the big guys, but what you save in time and aggravation and what you gain in experience is well worth it. I’ve only shopped here a handful of times but the 5 star is for support of small family businesses. Very friendly staff and always had what I was looking for

Good quality service was demonstrated when Dave the owner of Chalfont Hardware drove 190 miles to the wholesale warehouse to pick up my order that had been delayed due to the manufactures delivery policy.
I had priced this durable item on line with amazon and it was about the same price excluding the state tax but I concluded the service of free assembly and delivery exceeded the $ 25 tax and besides these are local guys. I had not known at the time just what I was going to get in the way of service.
Dave has done more than I would have asked, yes above and beyond, and I had not expressed any concerns to receive this kind of service except to say, «is it in yet!» on my every visit, but since I visit them about 3 – 5 times a week for items, Dave must have felt it bad. Chalfont Hardware you might be small but you are the best retail store I know! Thank you and save a few above and beyonds for other customers and I’ll settle for just one.

Agree wholeheartedly with the other reviews.
As a default I always end up at a big chain store and never find the specific piece I need (yes sometimes those stores do have it but it’s in an expensive kit that has 7000 other things that I don’t need). This store always surprises me because it does, the right gasket or hook or brace… and only that for a nominal cost.
Don’t get me wrong they have other things too. Pretty much everything. Including Kayaks (which I always think is funny when I go there, never needed one of those for a weekend project yet.)
The staff has always been helpful but not oppressive.
It’s a great old-​fashioned hardware store & I am grateful it is convenient to me.

My little brother (who is now over 30) worked here in High school and they were great to him and to our family.
A good local source for all things hardware — and much better customer service than at a chain store like Home Despot.

Go here instead of the Big Box stores. Keep your money local. The people that work here are helpful without being annoying and generally seem like they want to help.

As a long time resident of Central Bucks county I was enamored by all the Big Box hardware chains that started showing up in this area 10 – 15 years ago. The were cool and big and seemed to have everything at a good price.
One day I needed a small part for a home repair project and didnt want to face what I knew would be an onslaught of humanity at the local Home Depot for a 3 dollar part, I knew I was going to kill an hour or more just parking and checking out. So I reverted to the local hardware store in Chalfont. I parked next to the door was greeted by a courteous clerk who made me aware he was there to help in any way and proceeded to look for my part which I had trouble locating. The clerk saw this immediately and asked what I was searching for and lead me right to it. I was home out and back in 10 minutes.
Since that day I have made it a mission to do business with small local businesses every chance I got, they are knowledgeable, helpful, courteous and 9 times out of 10 they have what I need at a price that is consistent with the big boxes. Even when I pay an extra dollar or two I know it stays in the community and I know that I am paying for their expertise and knowledge; I am glad to do it and consider it excellent value.
Next time you are considering going to Warrington or Montgomeryville to one of the big boxes give it a second thought. They cannot supply everything that Home Depot or Lowes has in stock but for most everyday items and some specialty hardware items they are a good place to start.
