Beef stew is really good with the french bread. It is all I have ever tried here so review is based on that. Reason for 3 stars is there service is hit or miss. Can be really bad at times but I put up with it for the delicious beef stew.

First time here: On the Phở lala menu: #34 grilled chicken n egg roll vermicelli(ok) #35 grilled chicken n shrimp vermicelli(ok) Egg rolls(ok) Entered with a greeting. Not many people here on this new year. Not much vermicelli than other phở places I’ve been to. Eggs rolls lacked flavor. Well, everything was lacking flavor really. I don’t think I’ve been disappointed on Unilocal. But trying a new place is always hard. Before I left, I used the restroom. I took a picture of the daily cleaning list behind the door. I think the last date was Dec 19th unknown year. Uhm, it says daily. If the business isn’t committed to cleaning then they’re not committed to their restaurant. Not coming back EVER.

Phở was sub par. Service slow, only two people. Mostly disappointed in how low their standards are. I got a plate of veggies and herbs that had basil leaves that were partly black, and only one stalk for two people who both had phở. Instead of a pot of hot tea like other places give you, I got a cup of tea that was messy and overflowing when I received it. Came here to scratch an itch for phở and ended up still being hungry for more.

Average phở. Nothing special that wowed me. I suppose if the broth had more flavor to it and didn’t taste like the water from the boiled noodles, it’d be better on my ratings.

How can I give no stars, front desk girl had worst attitude towards me and my friend from the moment we walked up and the entire place was empty so we sat at a table waiting for our food we ordered to go and they seemed annoyed we sat down at the one of 50 empty tables in the place, and then I asked if they had paper bags so I didn’t have to use a plastic one and give the environment, and she looked at me like I was crazy and then walked up to the front desk and mimicked me as if I was crazy I asked for paper… Sorry I don’t like suffocating sea turtles and killing birds, there’s a reason why the nation is trying to make laws against plastic bags. Just google plastic bags and sea turtles. Enjoy ! Never ordering from here again.

Came here late night just because other places were closed… Not worth the visit… Low quality broth. and noodle… Not sure how people rate this place with 4 or more stars… The place needs to upgrade their broth quality seriously.

Decided to come here after failing to find Phở Tasty. It seems as if it closed down. Either that or I have a bad sense of direction and was no where close. Anyways, I looked to Unilocal for a substitute and found Phở 77. Upon entering the dimly lit restaurant we were greeted by a lady who walked us to our table. She gave us our menu and took our drinks order. I browsed through the menu and was surprised by how little they served(appetizers, beef stew, phở, rice and drinks). Not knowing what to get, I decided to get the beef meatballs. My boyfriend got the rare steak, and our friend got the phở dac biet. The food took a while. They were skimpy on the greens(2 basil stems for 3 large bowls of phở). I had to ask for more TWICE. The broth was on the salty side. The noodles however were cooked to perfection. They cut the beef meatballs up into little pieces like I asked. The rare steak was a little tough too.

My fan fave phở place when I lived in East LB. I’m back again and I believe it’s new owners. The place is fixed up nice with new décor. Waitress not as exciting as previous. Maybe because i really got to know the previous owners and staff so well, I’m being a bit bias. Despite the boring waitresses, the food is good. Probably one of the best spring rolls I’ve had in a while. Their veggie phở is spot on! Parking shared with many establishments, so good luck with parking.

I was a little concerned about the B rating on the door but food was pretty tasty and customer service was good. I got small seafood phở which was a good size I finished the whole thing. The broth was pretty tasty and seafood was fresh. I also got seafood egg rolls. Those were so good I only got two and was mad I wished I would have gotten the order or four. The sauce for the seafood egg rolls was so amazing and complimented the seafood egg roll very well. I also got the sampler plate with spring rolls, wonton wrapped shrimp, and egg rolls. It was pretty good as well. I was not sure after reading the other negative Unilocal reviews but this place was pretty good, and I would definitely go back again.

We have come to eat here quite frequently in the past… BUTLATELY… i have noticed decline… Staff keeps on changing…‘now hiring’ sign has been up for the longest time… i remember the the 20% off sign was just for Tuesdays… now its from Mon — Fri… paint chipping off(I believe this place just had a renovation lately)…all signs pointing to slow business… should I be searching for another Phó place soon… we shall see

Okay so first off their phở was very, very mediocre. For a phở place there’s not much selection. The restaurant has a nice clean first impression, but there are little gnats flying all over and getting on the food. Also, absolutely the worst boba i’ve ever had. The boba was so tough and hard to chew. It was such a huge disappointment. Not to mention she gave us an unwrapped straw. I definitely will not be coming back.

3 stars for their shrimp rolls. Only reason why I frequent this place. The service sucks lol. My boyfriend had to go up multiple times for water when they had 3 guys just standing behind the counter eating spring rolls. The only guy that tries is probably the one who wears glasses. Props to him. Their phở is mediocre. Phở is phở lol. $ 6.99 for reg, $ 7.99 for lg. whatevz.

The food was mediocre, nothing special about the dishes but nothing bad to mention either. The service is quite awkward and slow so that was a bummer because I think good table side manner makes up for majority of a great dining experience! The restaurant is clean and has nice décor. Overall, I don’t think this is a place I would pick for some good bowl of phở unless it’s my last resort

I was apprehensive on coming here due to the reviews. A family member even warned us before she took us here that the service would be HORRIBLE, so we came prepared. On a Saturday afternoon, there wasn’t too many customers. We ordered the chef’s sample appetizer, and I ordered the seafood phở. The other two in my party ordered large phở’s, so they just assumed mine would be large(which really is huge). Flavors were good! Everyone seemed pleased. Our service was surprisingly attentive! Waters were constantly refilled, they checked up on us, and we were all quite shocked. But personally, I thought overall it was pretty good!

Good god, this place is horrible now. With the old management and restaurant generations, the phở was really good, service is always keen on their customers, and everything was consistent. Fast forward to today, when we went for dinner, and it seems like new management’s in town. It seems the whole plaza is catering towards the younger Asian generations, exemplified by the young kids behind the counter with really fobby Asian haircuts. Lots of people were sitting inside, which always seems to be a good sign. But things became really messy as we waited for someone to take our orders. 5 people behind the counter, and none of them take our orders, until after we hailed someone multiple times, almost screaming at them to come over. Finally we got someone and ordered. Things got worse as we had to wait a really long time for our food. Other tables were getting their food, and we just sat there. They didn’t even come by to drop off the plate bean sprouts and basil. We had to nearly scream at someone to ask. The guy we hailed comes by and goes: «Ok, what would you like to order?» WTF!!! You’re kind me… we already ordered, and the incoordination of the staff is through the roof! When we asked him to check if our food was ready, he comes back with the receipt and places it on the table. As he didn’t say anything about it — we asked why we were staring at our receipt… without having eaten. Well, he just brought it over, not for us to pay, but just to tell us our orders had been taken. ok… Well, we eventually got our food. The phở is worse than before, and worse than previous iterations of the restaurant. VERYBLAND and mundane. What has been one of my favorite places to get Vietnamese phở has now become a joke for the young. Get your act together. 5 people on staff, and you’re still sloppy. I’m not coming back because you’ve ruined it for me.

Finally re-opened. Good bowl of phở. Good pork chops, they give you 2 slices with rice. The service was okay, the restaurant is spacious and clean. Good alternative when my go-to spot is crowded. In a very busy plaza so parking is sometimes a concern.

Decided to try another Phở place so stopped by for lunch a couple of days ago. Phở 77 is located in the same plaza that houses Manora Thai, Hang San — 2 and 85 degrees Café so the parking lot tends to fill up during lunch time but I’ve always managed to get a spot. Upon entering the first thing that struck me was that the place was pretty big and given the small entrance I was not expecting such a large restaurant. There were a couple of occupied tables but the restaurant seemed empty. I decided to deviate from my normal order of combination Phở and went with the large beef stew with egg noodles($ 7.55) as its picture looked appealing and also got a French bread($ 1) for dipping into the stew. My friend got the large chicken phở($ 6.99) which incidentally comes in a beef broth. Food was out in under 5 minutes and portion sizes were decent. Taste wise I did not like the beef stew. It looked very appealing and spicy but it was only mildly spicy and it felt like flavored phở rather than a stew. I’ve never had beef stew in a Vietnamese place before so I don’t know how it is supposed to taste only that I was not a big fan of it. The French bread was good and not great but it did its job well. My friend liked the chicken Phở a lot. He commented that it was the best that he had ever had. I suggested that it was probably because it was in a beef broth and usually he gets his Chicken Phở in a Chicken broth, but he was not convinced. I’ll probably come back and try their Phở before passing final judgment on Phở 77, but what I ate was very average and un-impressive. Lastly they take credit cards but with a $ 10 minimum so its cash only for all practical purposes.

Trying this phở place for lunch turned out to be a good decision! The #16 combo phở was very tasty. The broth was flavorful, the noodles seemed fresh, and the ‘large’ portion was more than adequate. The restaurant was clean, reasonably quiet, and the service was good. My chief issue would be that they do not have fountain drinks — meaning you cannot get refills and are essentially charged $ 1.50 for a can of soda. Other than that, this was a pretty good phở place for lunch and I will probably be back.
