I absolutely love this place but tonight was a little different. I usually order togo with no problem. Tonight I decided to dine in with my boyfriend and I was a little disappointed. I’ve been here at least 4 different times and have had no issues. Tonight I came in around 9PM and sat down. It was almost a full house with about 2 tables left empty. I’m a waitress so I can understand what it’s like to have a full house on my own. It took more than it should have to get menus, water and the food. Again, this isn’t the waitresses fault she did the best she could. I’m just trying to give the owners/managers a heads up because I hated being in this position at my old job. Great job to the waitress for doing her job but a tip to the manager — add more servers! Other customers might not understand like us. I would love to give 4 stars but for now to get the restaurants attention I have to give 3 :(

Craving chicken wings? This is the place to come! It’s located in the same complex as Zion market. There is a large parking lot. The restaurant is very casual inside. We tried the honey bee chicken wings and it was amazing! It was steaming hot, perfectly crispy, and had just enough honey and spicy sauce tossed on. We order 20 wings/drumsticks for $ 19.99. It comes with a small side of shredded cabbage salad with dressing and sweet, pickled daikon cubes. We got the food to-go and it went perfect with a side of rice and Korean kimchee. Tip: because the wings are cooked to order, our order took 20 mins to come out. When it gets busy, the order can take longer so definitely call in before you head over.

As much as I am not too impressed with the service, it always beats the feeling of the first bite eating that chicken. it’s just THATGOOD! My favorite flavor is. Sweet and Spicy and Hot Crispy Chicken! Their new place is much bigger, open space. There is a meter parking on the front, it’s no quite a busy street. They have validation parking for $ 3 but I think it’s only in the evening. I found few parking spot on the other block.

So this place… is kinda hidden. Parking — easy. It’s inside the parking lot of a supermarket Service — great, but we were pretty much the only people there at that time(4ish?). Food– was good, get the crispy chicken. My friend has that and I liked it more. I had the BBQ chicken. Still good tho.

Korean chicken place is pretty good. Just as good as bbq chicken in buena park. Only problem is that the service is definitely slow. Chicken usually takes about 20 mins to 30 minutes before you get your food so I give it 4 star. The guy that works there is very nice but they need to get more help one guy doing host, take phone order, take your order, bring your food, cashier, and then clean up is too much gor one person when it gets busy.

Was in the area doing errands while a craving for Korean Fried Chicken came about. Jumped onto Unilocal to find somewhere in the area I could get my hands on some korean chicken. And I found this place, knowing now what I didn’t know because I didn’t read too many reviews, I just decided it had decent stars with decent amount of reviews. So I decided to try it. It was absolutely empty when we got and had the whole restaurant as an option of where to eat. Never being there, we looked at their pretty straight forward menu and was excited to order. When the one and only server came around, he either didn’t know how to explain the menu item or wasn’t sure if they even had it. It seemed like we had to change our mind 3 times because they didn’t have it. WTF, WHATDOYOUHAVETHEN?! Each time we attempted to order, he had to run back and find out if they had it. It almost seemed like more than half of their menu was not available and not even marked off to signify that it wasn’t available. Eventually, we ordered the Sweet and Spicy wings & the Garlic wings. Both were okay, Ive tried better. I was disappointed in the Sweet and Spicy because although I enjoy some type of spicy every now and then, I usually dont go for the spicy at a new spot for the fear of it being too spicy to enjoy and unfortunately these wings were more spicy than sweet. I almost thought there were any sweet to it. Had to eat a lot of the pickled radish to cool my mouth down. The service was alright. He seemed like a lost puppy or the new kid at the high school. It seemed like he just didn’t know what was going on and didn’t seem like he had much guidance at the restaurant which it looked like it was just him and the cook in the back. Nothing makes me want to come back here willingly. Tried it once & I’m good.

Unilocal challenge 2016107⁄116 Another search for late night eats. Was super excited to try this place and now I’m in trouble again. I wish we just walked out and went somewhere else. One of a few places open around midnight. Located in a tiny plaza very easy to speed by. Look for the Zion market. Its near there. After reading the menu for about 10 minutes before the server came we were ready. Ordered the sampler. «Sorry we don’t have that?» Okay plan B. We look again and order wings. I try ordering chicken fingers, but they don’t have that either. Bone out? Nope, none of that either. Well what do you have exactly? They have only the left side of the menu. I already lost interest at this point. If half the menu is not available tell your customers when they SIT down. Seriously… Or block off what you don’t have. Better yet get a new menu. I asked the manager why everything is unavailable, he told me those specific items was not selling. They hope to add more choices in the future. So what they have is… just chicken and wings, rice, fries and the complimentary cabbage salad. If your planning on just eating that then you will be good. If your like me and not a fan of bone in stuff. You won’t be happy. Wings are about $ 10.95 for 10 of them. We ordered 10 sweet and spicy and 10 garlic. The sweet and spicy were good. The garlic are a dry style with the garlic inside. Came to $ 27 with 1 drink and the wings. Service is non existent. Like I said took 10 minutes before he took our order. Our drinks were never refilled. I had to go up to the counter to ask for a refill. I’m thinking maybe there was a language barrier which is why the waiter was not as informative or efficient as he should be. But a smile goes a long way. Again the service here ruined it for us, the out of date menu and wait time. Deducted a star for that. Probably will not return. #906

Food was good, service was great, place was clean. However, when we went, we tried ordering several dishes outside the chicken and they were out. I thought it was kind of odd to be out of a lot of stuff, all at the same time. Gonna try that place again, and will adjust my rating with a better experience.

There are some places to try Korean Style Chicken which is amazingly GRRR-EE-AATTTFOOD in City of Cerritos. As dinner time, we went to Kokio Chicken. Location: Easy to find in the Zion Market Plaza. Menu: They have three big parts which are one is Chicken category, another is Korean street foods, and last section is about foods&snacks for drinks. Price: I guess it’s quite reasonable like others. Restroom: Men and Women seperately. Clean. Cleaness: Nice. We ordered half Garlic chicken & honey bee boneless chicken. They serve salad with the chicken together in a kind of bowl so that you to share it. The salad is complimentary. For the beverage, we asked sprite, but. they didn’t have at that time. I think you should better check it before. jk. we also asked for hot sauce but it had strong cinannon tasted. Overall, Okay with it, yet nothing special tho.

Went to buy 30pcs chix wings, paid $ 33.77. I asked for hot sauce, gave me 1 half filled small container. I asked for more, he said no. Policy is only 1. I tried to exchange other condiment for hot sauce. He said NO again. Policy is only 1. SOMEBODYNEEDSTOCHANGEPOLICY! At least 1 small container for 10pcs chix wing!!!

Here’s what you need to know: there’s only like 2 sections you can order from on their menu but they won’t tell you where. so you have to ask. I wish the waiters were trained to tell customers what’s available to order and not assume that we already know. The chicken has been great both times I’ve visited, which is the only reason why I’m giving this place 4 stars. They also tried to charge extra for sauce but I caught them so he ended up not charging me. Shaaaaady.

Korean Fried Chicken. In korean, Chi-Mek’s like a thing, you gotta do the chicken-mekju combo with your friends on a late night just messing around and having a good time. I’m like the quintessential non-korean but if there’s anything I’ve learned that koreans are oddly good at, it’s making fried chicken. Good: Extra Spicy Wings(only if you like your sh*t spicy. If you can’t handle habanero type of heat, then move along, homeboy.) Waffle Fries I couldn’t do this place regularly because I’m not sure my arteries can handle fried chicken all the time, but if you’re craving Korean chicken and in the area, it’s worth a pit stop. The service is just OK, could use a little more chipper efficiency, but it’s a café style place I can’t expect much more than just standard service. sometimes Unilocalers are so quick to ding places becaue they don’t get extravagant service at some of these places — but look, your expectations are wildly unreasonable. just eat, pay, and go.

Located in the Zion Market Plaza, their sign really illuminates at night so it was easy to find! We ordered the half original half honeybee with a side order of waffle fries(crispy deliciousness, you can never go wrong with waffle fries!). Their complimentary salad was the typical korean chicken place thousand island-y sauce, it tasted like it had honey in their dressing, but no complaints here. The chicken breading was just the perfect amount of crispiness! The chicken itself was very juicy I was pleasantly surprised and enjoyed every bite. The honeybee chicken had a kick to it that I was not expecting, and for someone who can’t handle spiciness very well, it was not bad! The original was one of the best I’ve tried, can’t wait to try all the other flavors! Also, it wasn’t too packed on a Thursday night so service was very attentive and fast!

Ive tasted the to-go several times and ate here before… and its very good… even after 2 days… the restaurant is small but spacey, the chairs can get uncomfortable but your only there to eat and not lounge around… the staff is speedy and friendly… no problem here… the food… omg… KFC = Korean friend chicken, is so good. my favorite is just fried chicken. i tried other chicken and it gets old fast… order fried and get sauce on the side…

I came here with a few friends after work to relax and munch on something while we drink. It is extremely clean but small but the few times I’ve been, it was never packed. Food: Their sweet and spicy chicken is pretty darn spicy(and I can handle spicy) but flavor is above average. Alcohol: They have New Castle on draft!!! I get pretty drunk when I come here LOL Soju — must have to eat chicken with + beer. For the price I would say its pretty worth it!

Stopped by this place because we were craving chicken wings and wanted to try something else rather than the typical B-dubs or Wingstop joint. When we walked in, it was empty. My boyfriend, roommate and I were literally the only customers there. We ordered the original crispy and sweet and spicy chicken wings with a side of waffle fries. Both were really good. I personally liked the original crispy because it was juicy, crisp and had a kick to the fried wings. Loved this place.

People say it’s a rip of of KoKo. Honestly, chicken is chicken for me and it’s definitely less busy with attentive staff. It’s not the best, but it’s not the worst either. They have TV’s, so enjoy your sports! Great spot to come late at night.

Was trying to decide between kokio and dr. chicken, which are both Korean chicken joints near me//open past 10pm. You know I had to pick kokio once I saw the waffle fries!!! We came in around 10:15pm on a Monday and the waiter said we just missed a big rush. Yay!!! The place was pretty clean(restrooms included), cute Halloween décor, great service(checked up on us, but without hovering lol.) We ordered two 10 pc chicken orders(we were in over our heads ok, don’t judge.) We picked the garlic and spicy crispy chicken, with a side of rice and waffle fries. C A R B O V E R L O A D ~ Love love love crispy chicken!!! My boyfriend thought the spicy was too spicy, but I didn’t think it was spicy enough. Garlic chicken was ok, I love garlic so I felt like it needed a little more flavor. The fries were great. However… 8 wings, a handful of fries, and a cup full of rice later, I felt like I had just eaten church’s chicken and that my heart was going to stop any minute lol. Overall, would probably eat again, maybe in a year or two. Not because it wasn’t good, but for the sake of my health lol.

For a while now I have been hearing about the mystical Korean fried chicken. Now, I have had Kyochan so I have had some exposure but maybe it’s just me, but I am just not a fan of chicken wings. I just really feel that hot wings are very inefficient items to eat. A lot of sauce, mostly bone and always messy the meat you get off of them are just not worth it. So when I was told that a new kind of Korean chicken place opened up I just had to give it a try. We got the half and half which is original fried chicken and the«honeybee» sauce. The chicken was extraordinarily crispy and light. To me, the key feature of a great Korean type chicken is that the skin is not soggy or greasy at all. Everything tastes fresh and juicy, somehow they get the timing right so the meat is not dried out at all. The honeybee sauce is sweet and very slightly spicy with a wonderful texture. Unlike any other fried anything really, the post dinner is never overly«heavy» or filled with regret. The service there is always on point with what they have. Which is a bit of a problem for now, but it keeps us coming back to see how things are progressing. When you see the menu it is filled with a bunch of post it notes where they are missing things for the time being. Looking forward to some great things there, cannot wait and will surely be back very soon

Found out that this Kokio was in its soft open near us so we went on Fri night to investigate… you know, for science. It’s located in the same shopping center as the Zion Korean market. We walk in and were the only ones there at 6pm. We were greeted immediately by the friendly waitress. The place is totally remodeled and everything is nice and new. The design is modern/neat, and the space is impeccably clean. There are two large flat screens on either side and they play a good mix of top 40 and Kpop music so you can bob your head to the song stylings of Teen Top and Bruno Mars while you eat some chicken… you know you want to! Fried chicken, rather Korean style fried chicken, or KFC, is extremely popular back in the motherland. There’s even a term for it — «chimaek», which is the combo of «chi“‘ for chicken and«maek» for maekju, the Korean word for beer. And Kokio does serve beer — it’s even on tap. KFC to me tastes better than traditional Westernized fried chix. It’s always been less greasy, and way more flavorful. KFC places usually offer plain fried, or fried then coated in a variety of sauces — many of them garlicky, and spicy. Since it’s the soft open, not all their menu items were available, but the ones we wanted were good to go. We ordered their Half & Half combo with half Original and half Sweet and Spicy and waffle fries. The chicken comes with a coleslaw salad in a Russian-type dressing and cubed pickled radish. While we were waiting the waitress brought out«service»(Korean term for a freebie) a small sample of their fried dduk(Korean rice cakes) with their Honeybee sauce topped w/jalapeño tomato relish. Wow this was good! The thick sauce was sweet and spicy, the dduk were crunchy and soft and chewy all at once, with the relish adding that nice contrast of freshness. I would def order this the next time I’m there. The fries were perfectly cooked and seasoned. When the dduk was gone, we started dipping the fries in the remaining Honeybee sauce. Ohmergahhh that was some good sauce… The chicken came in two baskets, Original in one and Sweet and Spicy in the other. The pieces are smaller than what you’re used to at the Colonel’s(pieces on steroids). But I’m ok with that. The Original was juicy, crunchy, flavorful to the bone, and not greasy at all. The Sweet and Spicy is sweet to begin with then the slow burn from the spice hits you, and it hurts so good. Both flavors were delicious and paired nicely with the salad and vinegary/sweet daikon. I have to say, we were very impressed with Kokio. Their KFC is on point! Great food, excellent service, and nice atmosphere. The waitress said the Grand Opening will be in about two weeks. We can’t wait to come back and try more dishes off their full menu. So happy that a good KFC resto finally opened up near us. Oh, be aware that during their soft open they are only open for dinner hours. Lunch hrs to be added after the Grand Opening.
