One word. Lechon. I want to keep a bag of their Lechon in my glovebox. Succulent, crispy, and loving. Chicharron but Filipino style. Mmmmm the bees knees. The oxtail soup is great here. The Chicken Skewers ARE Great and the pancit. The adobo rice is dynamite. Seriously. So much flavor packed in there. They have serious ice cream here too. The taro is my fav. I wanted to try the cheese and corn one because of andrew Zimmer and it was not my fav but I’m glad I tried it. You should definitely come eat here!

My family and I went for mother’s day today and Jeepney is closed when we got there. The Jeepney name or sign is no longer there. I was sad to see this restaurant gone. I hope they come back.

Good enough to satisfy our craving for filipino dishes when we don’t feel like preparing it ourselves.

I’m always a little hesitant going into Filipino restaurants because I think my mom makes the best Filipino food out there, but I decided to give this a shot. It was one of the more cleaner Filipino restaurants that I’ve been to which I appreciate. I’m happy that they serve breakfast all day too! I ordered one of the their breakfast plates and was very pleased. We also ordered their garlic fried rice and BBQ on the stick things. I still think my mom cooks better, but I wouldn’t mind coming back here! Especially for their halo-halo!

I love this restaurant, the food is tasty. Been here more than I can remember. The prices are affordable and worth it. I love their kare-kare, talong and pansit canton. Im giving them a 4 because there is no 4.75. I’m asking the owner to consider putting a diaper changing table in the women’s room. Then JAG will deserve 5 stars in my book.

Our first time here as this place was sitting in my bookmarks! Glad we stopped in after running errands and I finally got my fried bangus fix and ordered the adobo fried rice, beef kaldereta and shared the halo halo. The service was friendly and helpful. Tried a scoop of their maiz con quezo gelato; they carry cara mia label ice cream from the Philippines. We are definitely coming back. This Bay Area girl is so happy :)

On our way back to LA, we had a craving for Filipino Food. Jeepney Asian Grill hit the spot!!! We ordered Pork sinigang, sisig, lumpia, chop suey, adobo fried rice, pancit canton, chicken sticks, halo halo, and gelato. My favorite dishes were the sinigang, the sisig, and the vanilla gelato. I hope they will open a restaurant in Hawaii:-) hint hint.

This is one of my favorite new places for Filipino food. The Shanghai lumpia is always cooked perfectly and the accompanied dipping sauce is extremely addictive and keeps me coming back for more. My favorite dishes are the BBQ pork skewers and garlic fried rice which I always order. The prices are very reasonable and the service is great!

I have been coming to Jeepney for about a year now, it is ny after church ritual. I like everything about this place… Weekends are usually always busy. Delicious take on fillipino food and desserts. If you like pork, silitonga and tocino is so tasty. Their garlic rice is flavorful. Sisig here is not authentic, but I don’t like it anyways. They have delicious lumpia and have garlic and other sauces on table that you can flavor food to your liking. Casual fun ambience with super friendly staff They also have Ceramia Gelato station here. So everybody can get what they want. Lunch specials Monday through Friday for around $ 7. Also serve beer and wine for adults :). All in all, this is one of my fave pinoy restaurants. service is quick, always super clean. and sometimes they even have karaōke! ANADDEDBONUS, LOL

We had lunch here today with so much hope that we will enjoy the food that we’ve always enjoyed. To our disappointment, the classic Laing we come here all the time for had been altered– the recipe was totally changed. If I have one message for the management, don’t fix your food if it’s not broken. Your classic Laing was good as it was– with lechon kawali toppings, generous coconut milk and just the right kick of spicy. Your«new» crunchy Laing is just a mush of taro leaves with cheap pork rind embedded in the dish. I was so hopeful before that, unlike any other Filipino joint, you would be able to keep the quality of your food, I am disappointed. Consistency in quality and customer service are what will make regular patrons, not changing menu. I would like to commend yo, u though\, for the tokwa’t baboy appetizer and the sizzling milk fish. They’re good. Don’t change the recipe, please.

Anytime I’m in LA if at all possible I do like to get as much Filipino food as I can. It can’t get better anywhere than in LA. This restaurant is one of them that serve Filipino food that is done just right with flavors that truly remind of home. Their little lumpia was stuffed with meat. Commercially prepared lumpia often is just all wrapper and less filling so that was a point for them. We had some pork sinigang for soup. Again, perfect flavor. It would have been perfect if their were more veggies in it. The bangus was perfect but if you can’t not cook bangus any other way. That fish is just delicious no matter how it’s done. The chopsuey was good too and the fried rice tasty. The banana dessert was a little too sweet and I was too full to try anything else. The restaurant was clean and staff was courteous and friendly. Dishes were brought out to us in intervals. That would be something they can improve. Overall experience was satisfactory. And by the way they have gelato.

I was excited to come here, but that excitement was very short lived when we were seated. The place is called Jeepney. It should be bright, colorful, n filled with wonderfully home style, street vendor — deliciousness. This place seems like it’s still tryna find footing between a fancy gourmet spot or fusion hipster joint. I do give credit for some yummy sisig. It’s an awesome to-go food. MYOR(make ur own rice). Don’t pay for it here. During dine-in, my portion was hella small with rice I had to pay for. But to-go was a good sized portion n by the time I got back to the crib, the rice cooker was done.

As a Filipina-American with a mommy who cooks wonderfully, I am usually skeptical to eat at Filipino restaurants. Nothing compares to my mommy’s home cooked stuff. This restaurant reinforced this notion. I ordered from the Mega Lunch Special(from 11am-3pm). From this, you can order one from each category: [1] pork skewers, chicken skewers [2] Tilapia Filet, Pork Adobo, Chop Suey [3] Lumpiang Shanghai(basically eggrolls), and fried tofu. I decided to get the chicken skewers, the pork adobo, and the eggrolls. In my opinion, the portions were kind of small. I did end up getting full though because I wasn’t really hungry to begin with. They gave us an appetizer: egg drop soup! It was delicious! The meal was served with a big scoop of rice. Us Filipinos need rice for every meal. The eggrolls were just okay. The chicken skewers were savory and yummy. The pork adobo however, was dreadful. They did not get the sauce right. The one from Leelan’s(formally known as Goldilock’s) is able to ace the sauce. The sauce here was too wet, and TOO vinegary. It did not match what made adobo the most popular dish of the Philippines. Extremely disappointed. On the plus side, service was nice. The choice of music playing was nice; the typical oldies that you’d normally hear Filipinos sing during karaōke. They even have open mic every Fri &Sat from 8:30-Midnight. What fun! Seriously though, someone would have to do some hardcore convincing if I am to ever come back here.

Decided to try another Pilipino place so stopped by for lunch a couple of days ago. Jeepney Asian Grill is located in the same plaza on South Street as Pinoy-Pinay, Red Ribbon and Phở 4 U so location and parking are not a problem. I was expecting it to be a typical turo-turo restaurant but it was a proper sit down restaurant which was a welcome change. At peak lunch time the restaurant was about 50% full and seemed to be loud and lively so it sure is popular. After perusing the menu I decided to get the Mega Lunch($ 7.95) in which you can select three personal sized entrée’s(from 6 options) plus rice and soup. I went with the Chop Suey, grilled chicken skewer and could not decide between the Tilapia fillet and fried Tofu so my server recommended that I pick the tilapia fillet as it was very good, so I went with that. The soup was served quick but there was a long wait to get the main course. It seems that there were only two servers who were managing the entire restaurant which seemed less for the size of the restaurant. Finally when the food came I felt it was just about average. As usual the rice should have been of much better quality, the Chop Suey had fresh ingredients but lacked a strong taste and felt mild. The chicken skewers were the best part of the meal — very nicely marinated and freshly grilled. My server really needs to get out and try pan seared Tilapia in some decent restaurants(Phil’s Fish Grill, California Fish Grill, Yoshinowa immediately come to mind) so that he knows what good Tilapia is. This will ensure that he does not label the pathetic monstrosity that was served to me as «good». It was one of the soggiest, grossest fishy tasting pieces of fish that I’ve ever had. Finally it took an excruciatingly long time for them to clear my check. I ended up spending almost an hour in the restaurant for a meal that could have easily be completed in 30 minutes with most of the time spent waiting for the food and check. My experience is that this is normal in other Pilipino sit down places, so it did not come as a major surprise. Lastly I was able to pay by card so that was a plus. Overall I was barely satisfied with what I ate. When I do my «Will I return?» test, Jeepney Asian Grill unfortunately does not make the cut. The next time I’m in the mood for Pilipino food I’ll head over to Pinoy-Pinay which I would rate better that what I ate here any day.

There is no Jeepney here to ride in but its an okay place to get my filipino food on in the Cerritos area. A few of my titos used to frequent here. My go to defaults are the chicken skewers, pancit, banana turnovers and the lumpias. Once in a while Ill order the garlic rice, but Im not a huge rice eater. The coffee is surprisingly good here and it cured a migraine of mine. The ice cream hits the spot. Halo Halo is suppose to be good, but Im a texture girl, and the texture of Halo Halo leaves me with a funny feeling. Service is as to be expected… hit or miss. It

Early Sunday morning I ordered their Pinoy breakfast combos. I had a longsilog and my husband had a longsilog. Both entrees were pretty good. They give a lot of garlic fried rice and it was also tasty. It comes with 2 over easy eggs. Aside from breakfast, I ventures off and ordered the breakfast choices and got their calamari appetizer and 6 pieces of bbq skewers(3 chicken and 3 pork). Again, pretty good! The skewers are served on smaller sticks. The pork meat was slightly chewy, but I expected that from pork meat. The chicken was tender. I liked that it came with a fresh sweet and sour pickled cucumber. I have never had paper thin slices of cucumber pickles that still had a good crunch! The calamari was breaded and crunchy. It was a good portion to share. The service was very friendly. The food servers are all very attentive! There is a nice patio outside if you want to read the paper. They have an open mic night for those who like a live musical performance. I am going to have to come back to experience what it is like to eat at JAG during dinner time!

We came here on a Sunday evening. The place was half-full or half-empty…however you say it. Upon entering I saw the dessert. They got gelato Ube! Plenty of choices on the menu, but I was locked in to order a good Filipino breakfast. I never had Adobo Flakes until this day with a side of egg and garlic rice. It was delicious! I also ordered calamansi juice. The wait staff is good and attentive. I was unable to finish my meal since I was still full from eating lunch, so I got a to-go box. To finish off, I got a scoop of gelato Ube. Very smooth and good that it melts in your mouth. I look forward to eat other items on the menu.

«Rob the jewelry store, and tell ‘em make me a grill.» — «Grillz», Nelly The iconic Jeepney, the unequivocal trademark of the Philippines. Leftover WWII personnel carriers that the Pilipinos adopted as their own, each having it’s own personal touch. It’s the cheapest way to speed around town, yelling«PARA!» when you want to get off. I haven’t dined at Jeepney Asian Grill in many, many years. The last time, I had their version of Pad Thai & wasn’t very fond of it. I know what you’re thinking, «Pad Thai at a Pilipino retaurant?» I guess they were going for fusion cuisine, but I thought it fell flat. Fast forward to today, and here I am looking for a quick snack after picking up some food at a nearby eatery for my mom. Jeepney Asian Grill has decided to forego the fusion, & stick to the dishes of my ancestors. Good decision, in my opinion. Perhaps a rebranding of Jeepney Pilipino Grill as the coup de grace? Today, I opted for the crispy calamari w/sweet chili sauce $ 5.95– The calamari was good. Chewy squid w/a crispy breading. The portions were pretty good, too. It’s my firm belief that by calling it fried squid(pritong pusit), most would find it unappetizing. But, by calling it crispy calamari, more people would be open to trying this dish & perhaps paying a little more. One of the highlights of Jeepney Asian Grill are the desserts. They have their own in-house gelato, with the common flavors such as rocky road, mocha & strawberry, along w/traditional Pilipino flavors such as avocado, sans rival(Pilipino pastry) & mais con queso(corn & cheese). Mais con queso is good, darnit! Don’t knock it till you try it ;P Seating is plentiful, with tables & booths spread about & in an open layout. The restaurant looked very clean & well taken care of, which is always a good thing. I was told there is live music Fri-Sat 8pm — close w/no cover. 80’s music was delighting my aural senses while I awaited my order. In summation, I enjoyed my dining experience at Jeepney Asian Grill. I admire their change from Asian fusion to traditional Pilipino fare. I must come back to try their adobo fried rice, their lunch specials & what my Unilocal buddy, Steve S, raves about in his review — the banana tempura w/vanilla gelato. Lunch date, bro? ;P Highly recommend! NOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOM
