Attended a catered event by La Volpe. The food was absolutely delicious. I have attended many catered functions and the Chicken Marsala was by far the BEST I have ever had! The meatballs were great and the sauce was amazing!!!

The food is okay, however the restaurant is overcrowded and very noisy. We waited too long to get served and were upset and disgusted when we left. I used to be a good customer, but will definitely not return.

We ordered 3 dinners and an order of chicken fingers for take-out on Mother’s Day. Having a toddler, it is difficult to bring him to a nice restaurant, so we opted to order food to bring home. We had not ordered dinners from La Volpe in a while, but we figured it was a «sure thing» since their food has always been excellent. We ordered Shrimp Scampi, Chicken Parm and Eggplant Rollatini. We were shocked! The shrimp were dry and flavorless. The scampi sauce was either burned or just really bad. It also lacked any flavor. The penne for the chicken parm and eggplant rollatini was simply dry pasta out of the pot. It wasn’t tossed with sauce or olive oil; just put on the plate. The sauce from the chicken parm and eggplant rollatini was the only sauce in the dish. Flavors were lacking there as well. Needless to say, we had difficulty eating these dinners and ended up throwing them in the garbage… for $ 75. The only great dish we received were the chicken fingers! They were good! We tried to come up with a reason for the poor quality. However, it was not busy during the hours we ordered. The dishes were not complex. It should have been good. I’m not sure if they did not feel accountability to the quality of the dishes since it was a take-out order. However, it was a true disappointment. It was once our«go to» restaurant for a great dinner. It is no longer…

My family and I eat at la Volpe very often. A good solid family run restaurant with a great bar and even better food. The wait staff are attentive and friendly. Service is terrific and this is a must do restaurant !!!

What is all the hype about with this restaurant??? The food is mediocre at best. Atmosphere is nothing to write home about and why do all the waiters really try to play up being Italian? I hate that!!! I mean, I get it, we are at an Italian restaurant but common! Stop trying to pretend that we are in little Italy… Maybe I’m biased because I come from a long generation of amazing Italian cooks but my Irish husband agrees that this place is a bust.

Firstly — they should really do something about the wait staff — they’ve got a Head Waiter — I guess he’s the Head Waiter because he’s very very important in his own mind — he acts as if he’s Master of Ceremonies at some upper crust function. Then comes in the reality of the meal — truth is the food is just okay — nothing to reel about — nothing to recommend as exceptional and then there’s the finale — The Check ! Definitely a bit on the high side considering the area and the food served. Maybe it was the arrogance of the Head Waiter that got the ball rolling in the wrong direction on this one, but we won’t be back.

Italian cuisine at its finest any dish you can think of if its not on the menu ask they will make it. Service is great and price isn’t to bad. From little pizzeria to restaurant food is consistent… The brothers that own this establishment are present and make sure that all their customers are happy… Bring the family dine in take out or catering available. They have served my family for years and will continue to get our business…

We went to La Volpe to celebrate my wife’s birthday with our two kids. I noted this fact to the woman taking our reservation. We started with a beet salad, which would have been very good with half the amount of dressing. The kids split a pizza and(at our insistence) a side of broccoli rabe. They enjoyed the pie but the broccoli was overcooked to a state of limp sogginess. My wife had salmon stuffed with crabmeat and I had almond-crusted flounder. Both dishes were overcooked. Worse, the sauce accompanying the salmon was extremely salty and the flounder tasted so sweet(?) it could have been a dessert. On top of everything else, the restaurant made no acknowledgement at all of my wife’s birthday. The night would have been a total bust, except that after leaving the restaurant we landed at a surprise party with cake and bubbly. The bottom line on La Volpe: unless overcooked and overseasoned food is your thing, go elsewhere.

Wear your Sunday best please. I love the setting and service. This is a modern Italian menu. I appreciate that. I am tired of places claiming to be Italian. Red sauce and pasta don’t make it Italian. Pretty generous wine list. Good for large families.

Wether it’s to stay or to take food home, sitting in the Pizza side Antons or the Restuarant side La Volpe. The food is always excellent and on point. The specials are particularly fantastic from the presentation to the quality of the food. It’s also a treat to be able to get the Restuarant menu at the bar. Truly one of the best dining experiences on Long Island and worth the drive if you do not live close by.

Definitely the best local restaurant we have. Always consistent which is a very important trait for a place to have. I don’t believe i have ever ordered anything here i haven’t liked and we try to get here often. It is a pricey meal if you enjoy yourself, but it is worth it. The cocktails are great as are the personal pizzas.

Really aughta go back, what am I thinking? Great specials, great service. Good food. Stopped in on a whim and glad we did, we all enjoyed our food and our cocktails were on point as well. I’d go back, in fact. I will!

Came here for valentine’s day and the food was to die for, amazing quality and taste. Went again for a special occasion and they never fail to please. Service was a bit slow, but the food is delicious. Would definitely recommend to someone.

The Italian food is authentic and legit old world Sicily. My grandmother(1st generation to the US) knows these dishes and agrees that the flavors are how they should be. If you want REAL, Italian food, it’s worth the wait and you’ll feel like you’re home. Open a bottle of wine and enjoy the good company.

Great Italian food as well as pizza. I suggest you ask for the marinara dipping sauce to accompany the fresh bread! at the table. There is no additional charge and it’s so delish. The Carciofi Scottati(artichoke salad) It’s an amazing appetizer. Your not gonna want to share. Ravioli Con Polpa D’Aragosta had a delicious sauce. The scallops needed a little more love. But over all great dish. My husband always get chicken parm and it never disappoints. Can’t wait to go back

Fantastic! Went for Valentine’s Day & was little upset they were only serving a special price-fix menu, however the choices were delicious! Or appetizers began with meatballs stuffed with mortadella & mozzarella in a red sauce reduction that reminded me of my grandmother’s sauce. Delicious! The second app was their shrimp over a potato with sautee spinach, prosciutto, crab meat & an orange ginger sauce. One bite & I was in food euphoria. Dinner consisted of filet mignon & short ribs, both of which were to die for… rich & delicious. I will definitely be back!
