salon aka – an Aveda lifestyle salon

Tiffany cut my hair for the first time today and it looks amazing!!! The salon was very nice and clean. Everyone that worked there was great and professional. :)

Love this salon! Great atmosphere and Megan Anne does an amazing job with my hair. I get compliments all the time on my hair. Great cuts, easy free parking, love the product, salon is really clean, and everyone is super friendly and professional. I highly recommend them.

Delighted by the service! Great atmosphere too. Paige is fantastic, as is the owner. I love how I look each time I leave there. Getting a scalp massage while sitting in a massage chair is just icing on the cake!

Going here was the worst experience ever. Spent almost three hours getting my hair partially highlighted — Katelyn did a full highlight — I came in with sandy blonde hair and left a true blonde — what a joke — the inside layers of my hair were dark — it looked horrible!!! I called and the owner offered to fix the issue — she was shocked and in disbelief when she saw what they had done to my hair the week before. I went back to have it corrected, they fixed the highlight issues, but the cut is horrible, the layers in front are not blended — there is a gap of two inches between layers right in front — they took off a lot more than I asked them too. So much fun to try and run when you can barely put your hair up. I have never had such a horrible experience with my hair — I look horrible and have to wait for it to grow out to get it fixed. I would not recommend this salon to anyone — so much for a pampering day for mom!!!

This is a great salon! I went there for the first time and got a haircut from Tiffany who did an excellent job! The massaging chair at the shampoo area was so relaxing. This is an Aveda Lifestyle salon so you will enjoy everything that Aveda has to offer. The store is located at the SouthGlenn mall, which has plenty of parking spaces and nice stores.

I pulled my review on this place earlier based upon a plea from the owner. After I thought about it though, doesn’t that run contrary to the point of Unilocal?
Here’s what I don’t like about Salon AKA:
1. It is not a convenient location. Parking and traffic suck. A lot.
2. The salon reception area doesn’t have a good waiting area (and you WILL have to wait).
3. The prices are quite high for a suburban salon.
4. There is no suitable place to sit while color is processing.
5. Every person I see leaving that salon seems to have some variation on the same «mom hair.»
6. They only carry Aveda. I heartily dislike Aveda.
7. The front of my hair was perpetually broken and frizzy when under the care of AKA. I have been with my new salon for some time now and I don’t know if it’s the color products used or just user error, but I haven’t had any problems like that since I left Salon AKA.
A couple of positive notes — the salon is clean and attractive.

Salon AKA is AWESOME! I have been going there for years and have no complaints! Professional and well trained staff. Beautiful salon. Excellent service! I’m 41 and still get compliments on my hair cut and color! Thank you Salon AKA for keeping me sexy!

It can be hard to break up with your hairdresser after 12 years. Well… unless you’re breaking up with your hairdresser to go over to Salon AKA.
I haven’t looked back.
My color? Perfect. The cut? Perfect. How perfect? Women-​stop-​me-​in the-​airport-​and-​grocery-​store-​to-​ask-​me-​where-​I-​get-​my-​hair-​done PERFECT. Erin does my cut & color, but occasionally I cheat on Erin and visit other stylists, like Amanda, Samantha, Brianne, everyone! And I’m never ever disappointed. And I’m a diva about my hair. Trust me.
Salon AKA used to be in Cherry Creek North. When they were there, I loved Erin and her staff so much that I would arrive 20 minutes before my appointment just to find a parking spot. Since their move to Streets at Southglenn, parking is an absolute breeze thanks to the parking garage just around the corner — much closer than any parking spot I could ever find at their previous location.
I recently turned a friend on to Salon AKA. She’s also breaking up with her stylist of many years to become one of Erin’s followers. Yes, it sounds like a cult. It may be the Salon AKA cult, but we all have really really really great hair.

I cannot say enough about how amazing Brittany is at Salon AKA. I have been going to her for over a year now and my hair just keeps getting better! There is nothing better than sitting in her chair and know that her amazing skills with color and cut that I will walk out a new woman. I have gotten more compliments in the last year than ever before.

This is a great little salon at the Streets of Southglenn. No prissy Cherry Creek North attitude here, just great cuts, color and customer service! Also the chairs you sit in when they are washing your hair will massage you! Whoo… nothing beats that. Erin, the owner, is extremely talented and runs a tight ship, no drunk hairstylists on her floor (yes, I have experienced that before… yikes, yeah, I want you to put scissors to my hair when I know you have been partying…) The Streets of Southglenn is a neat little area and if you don’t want to deal with parking and crazy ass snobby attitude, come here to get a great cut!

Erin Kehl owns the salon with her husband. I’ve been a client for about 13 years. could be longer. She was in Cherry Creek North until a couple of years ago. She is now in the Southglenn Commons area and it is so convenient to get there after work. Erin is a master colorist. I have curly hair and she cuts it perfectly. She is also a master if you want a BKT done. When Erin is unavailable or on maternity leave, I do not hesitate to go to Samantha or Amanda.
The location is great for restaurants, Whole Foods, a movie or boutique shopping.

I have been going there for the past 5 – 6 years and I love it! When I first moved to Denver, I could not find anyone that I like to cut my hair. Then, one day someone recommended them and they were wonderful! They cost between $ 50-​$ 60 for a hair cut, but they are worth it! I have yet to have a bad hair cut and personally, I like Sam the best. She knows the minimal effort I want to spend daily on my hair, yet I still want to look good.

Awesome salon! They moved over to Southglenn, and the new place is great — massaging chairs! Everyone is very friendly — best hair cut ever! Amanda rocks.

Great color, great cuts! This Aveda salon is a hidden gem in Cheery Creek North! Colorist Erin Kehl is excellent!
