El Senor Sol

My wife and I stopped in at El Señor Sol on a Sunday evening. Most places were closed so we decided to stop in to this little restaurant off of University and Arapahoe. It is positioned in an odd spot but that wasn’t a problem. We have been looking for white cheese queso so we excited when we saw it on the menu. However, when it arrived, it tasted and had the same texture as velveta. We both suspect it was a block of velveta with some peppers.
The entrees were surprisingly spicy and pretty good. Our service was also good. This is a blue collar type of place which was refreshing in a city that sometimes seems too suburban chic. It is a decent option.

First time dinner, my meal was exactly what I was craving. The green chili was velvety with the right amount of heat. We were treated like family. The salsa was fresh and bright. Boyfriend had steak fajitas and didn’t really speak until they were devoured. Sizzling and satisfying. We shall return soon and often!
