I have been coming to AWH for about 6 years now. It’s great everytime! I usually let the owner, Jake, start me off with an appetizer of his choosing, maybe a soup or salad, but you have to save room for dinner! My favorite is a mixed plate with a lobster tail, chicken, and two beef options. Yum yum yum! Sometimes I’ll really go for it and end up with a delicious chocolate fondue for desert, or maybe just hang out at the bar and have a few martinis and chat it up with Jake and my fellow Cedarburg residents. Met many nice people in there over the years, including the Mayor of Cedarburg who apparently goes there all the time, hes also a great guy! Cheers to AWH!

Beyond the fact the owner(the tall smug chubby guy with glasses) is a RAPIST. Their food is actually downright terrible. Comparing their fondue to The Melting Pot leaves you no comparison. The service was non-existant and took HOURS to get our food and it tasted flavorless and like garbage. Not to mention overpriced. Would give zero stars if I could. Can’t believe they are still open given the owners drugging of women and history of being involved with prostitution rings and rape in general.

This may make me part of the minority, but I grew up with cheese fondue as a common treat in my household. Cheese fondue would often be prepared as my requested birthday meal. When I got married, I received a fondue pot as a gift, and we picked up another one at a garage sale. My husband and I would make fondue at home from a mix and doctor it up, but it was never as good as my mom’s version, full of Gruyère. Now we live in cheeseland, but hardly ever make fondue. I’ve had the August Weber Haus on my radar for more than a year. Last year I chose it for my birthday meal, but they were closed on my birthday dinner night, so we didn’t make it until the following year as our Valentine’s week treat. Jake and Tracy were great, bantering with us throughout our stay. We were pretty early for our table reservation, so we talked to Jake a bit while we waited at the bar, then got to head to our table early, which was nice as it was snowing a bit and we had a drive ahead of us to get home. Our table was next to the window in what appears to be a beautiful cream city brick house converted into a restaurant. If it was a house, I would guess this was a living room or parlor, now filled with a handful of tables for dining. Tracy gave us the rundown and we went with the full deal: the Swissalious, the Weber, and Butterscotch Pleasure for dessert. Mr. R accompanied his meal with some Lakefront brews and I had some red wine. The cheese fondue was good, but sorry to say Mom’s version still wins. Can anyone ever beat Mom’s cooking? The Weber was generous for two people, but I think fair for the price, and the butterscotch dessert was a nice finish. My favorite dippers were the marshmallows. I would definitely come back for a meal in this cozy space, and would love to bring family or friends and once again sit around the fondue pot in comfortable companionship.

We went there this evening and will never return. The place was so cold inside that I had to wear my winter coat while I ate my meal — and the couple at the next table did the same. The cheese fondue was tasty but more variety of things to dip in it would have made it excellent. The meal fondue was blah, no seasoning on the raw meat and not much flavour imparted from the broth. The dipping sauces helped, but not much. The cost was very high for what we got — a selection of three types of meat and literally a handful of broccoli and mushrooms. For $ 50 for two of us it could have at least had a salad, dinner rolls, or some sort of side dish like rice or potatoes. The food was certainly not worth the price. It was a disappointment all the way around and to top it off we left with frozen toes and never took off my coat.

This was our first time at August Weber Haus. Place is very quaint. Tracy our server was awesome. It’s not a cheap place, but you get a lot of food. Not everyone is into cooking their own food, so fondue isn’t for everyone. Fondue menu is limited but the choices available give a good variety of foods(if that makes any sense). My party of two had 1 alcoholic beverage and one non-alcoholic, an appetizer, entrée and dessert. Our bill was right at $ 100 before tip. I thought pricing was fair considering the amount of food you get. I would go back, but would like to see some more options on the menu.

We normally go to August Weber Haus 3 – 4 times per year, although I have to admit I haven’t been there now for about six months. Most of the time, I write a review saying how wonderful it is, but that was on another review website which I no longer use now that I found Unilocal.This time; however, I was very disappointed. The place just seemed«dirty». The back bar area was not organized — things were just all over the place. The waitress seemed to spend most of the time on the telephone. We were given the wine menu and noticed on the bottom a list of domestic beers — when I asked for one of them I was told they didn’t have any — the waitress named off the 5 beers they did have — all of which were dark/heavy microbrew beers; nothing domestic and lighter like a Miller or Budweiser, etc. I don’t drink dark/heavy beers so I ordered a soda. We just ordered a dessert fondue. I noticed that the ingredients for the fondue are premixed in a bowl that the waitress just needed to grab from the refrigerator and bring to the table to melt. That seemed fine. What surprised me was when the fondue was ready, she went back to the refrigerator and grabbed out an uncovered plate that had the fruit(apples and strawberries), pound cake, and brownie already cut up on it. I thought that was odd that they store this in the refrigerator without any covering. Not sure how long it had been in there but the pound cake and brownie were stale. In the past, the items are arranged decoratively on the plate — this time they were all just thrown on the plate in a big pile. The fondue itself was fine. We will go back, in time, but I am not as excited about it as I have been in the past. Hopefully they read this and can turn things around back to the awesome establishment they used to be.

Friendly staff, nice atmosphere, and overall a good, worthwhile place to spend some time in historic Cedarburg. We had some good wines-by-the-glass and we really loved the flat bread appetizer they were kind enough to make even though their kitchen was closed when we came in. I will be back!

I have never met fondue I didn’t like, but this place beats them all. I never want to go back to the Melting Pot after this. High-quality ingredients and great service beat the big chain restaurant. I was here with my parents on a warm summer evening. The only drawback to fondue is that the table area got steamy and heated up, even though we were sitting right next to the air conditioning unit. That was the only negative of our meal. We were promptly seated(we got a double fondue pot table!) and given water and our drink orders. The fondue took time to melt, of course, but our server was very quick in bringing out the combinations we ordered(two pots of cheese fondue: cheddar jack and bleu cheese, I believe) and told us about the ingredients. I could tell as soon as she spooned the cheese into each pot that this was high-quality Wisconsin dairy product, not some rubbery cheese out of a factory(like they serve at other fondue establishments). Needless to say, the cheese was out of this world. I was pleasantly surprised by how delicious the blue cheese was, especially. For dessert we had the chocolate and caramel fondue. Normally I do not have a sweet tooth, but I had to try a few bites of the dark chocolate, and I was not disappointed. Overall, a delicious meal and we loved the friendly service and quality ingredients that are expected in small-town Wisconsin!

This is a cute little fondue restaurant on the main drag in Cedarburg. I took my boyfriend here for his birthday dinner and we loved it. I will never understand how fondue is so expensive, but know that dinner for 2 of you is going to cost triple digits. They do sometimes put certificates on , which does help keep this in the reasonable range. In a little house, this place is cozy and has the cooktops for the fondue built right into the tables. We decided to forgo the appetizers and went straight for entrees and desserts. A quick check of the menu shows that what we had is no longer there — but our entrée dinner for two included lobster, chicken, shrimp and steak and while the little plate of raw meats comes out and you think you’ll never be full on that, its plenty of food. The dessert was delicious and milky smooth and so yummy. Having eaten both here and at Melting Pot, I’m not so sure there’s much of a difference. But I like supporting the non chain and they are on completely different sides of town, so you really would never overlap.

This was more of a culinary expereince then just a celebratory dinner. After stumbling upon this resteraunts name on , my husband called to make reservsations. Its a small, cozy establishment hidden within a stone farmhouse in downtown Cedarburg. This was our first time eating here, so we had no expectations, and no ideas how dinner would work. Our chef/server sat us at a stone table that had a cook top in its center. He was friendly and very attentive. We ordered The Weber, which was a variety of meats and vegtables. A pot filled with a broth was set on our cooktop and we waited for it to come to a boil. Our dining room had 4 tables and it had the feel of an eatery in Europe. The boiling pots on each table added to the ambiance. Our meats were brought to the table, raw. The chef then explained eat cut of meat, and how long to cook in the fondue pot. He then explained each dipping sauce that he brought to the table. All I can say is WOW! The beef was absouletly delicous and the mustard sauce was amazing. We enjoyed making our dinner and enjoyed the slower pace. It really was an experience rather then just dinner. The portions were made to be split and were good sized. We ordered dessert and watched as a our chocolate and caramel with nuts was scraped into the pot. the smells were glorious. We were then given a large platter of fruit, pretzels, marshmallows and eclairs to dip into the melted chocolate concoction. Amazing. The food was flavorful, staff knowledgeable and friendly. They say you get what you pay for and we felt that the prices were fair and the food worth every penny. We are already planning a trip back to try the seafood.

I’m sure the food would have been really great if we would have gotten to eat. We got there around 7:15 pm and were told we could eat at 9:30 pm. My husband and I were from out of town and said that would be fine because we really wanted a nice dinner and thought we would have a couple of drinks while we waited. At 9:45 pm I asked when our table would be ready. We were then told they closed at 10:00 pm and weren’t serving food anymore. Needless to say we were pretty upset when we left there around 10:00 pm and never ate dinner. We would not go back again.

This place is fantastic! The owners live above the restaurant and are very friendly. The food is great for fondue. The drinks are really good and very nice to sit outside in the summer and people watch. The dessert fondue is awesome. If you like fondue’s you must try this place out!

Ambiance: It is so intimate and cozy & warm here. It feels like the restaurant is wrapping it’s arms around you and giving you a hug. Its tiny but that plays well to it’s over all feel. Upon entering the restaurant the first room you encounter comprises of a small sitting area with four nice leather lounge chairs and a small ottoman arranged around a faux fire place. I could have sat in that little area all night and been as happy as a clam. The main dining room has a mere four pub style tables. Because it’s so small it tends to get pretty loud in there making it difficult to converse with your dining companion(s) at times. The lighting in the dining room versus the bar area is very bright, & it loses that warm glow. Each of the four tables has an electric flat top burner imbedded into it where they place the pots of the fondue and heat it up right there on your table. Beverages: A decent size wine list as well as a slew of yummy sounding specialty martinis. I want to come back to try a few of the martinis, especially the Passion Fruit Purée. It sounded delish. We had a bottle of the Reisling. Food: Ding Ding! The main event. While the theme to this place is fondue they did have a number of non-fondue options. We however felt we should go with what they probably do best. Classic Swiss Fondue: As mentioned above they«cook» everything on your table top. A pot filled with white wine was brought and allowed to heat. Once that was brought to temperature the server brought out a big bowl of shredded cheese & seasonings which she then added to the wine stirred around and the covered so it would melt. Oh! How cruel to be sitting 5 inches from cheesy manna & have to patiently wait for it to melt. But huzzah! It did & our patience was rewarded with a gooey, creamy, sublime fondue. The dippers that it came with were bread cubes, baby carrots & celery. While neither of us really like celery we did find it to be one of the more perfect vessels for scooping up copious amounts of golden cheese on your little fork. We simply devoured this Main Course Fondue: There were three entrée fondue choices, all seafood, all meat, & a mixture of the two. We opted for the mixture. The waitress once again brought out a new pot to heat up on our table top. This one had broth in it. In any case our«dippers» consisted of gorgeous pink pieces of Ahi Tuna, lovely chunks of chicken breast, a beautiful lobster tail & finally perfectly marbled pieces of beef. We also got a small plate of grape tomatoes & celery. Each meat had its own dipping sauce to compliment it. Tuna= soy wasabi, Chicken=honey mustard, Beef=red wine bleu cheese, Lobster=garlic butter sauce. The quality of each of the meats was top notch, all were fresh & firm with good color. The waitress gave us cooking times for each of the meats & we commenced to skewer, cook, dip and devour to our hearts content. The lobster with the garlic butter was amazing. The sauce was highly flavored & rich. At one point after all the lobster was gone I think I actually picked up the little container and just started drinking it. I say maybe because things got fuzzy at this point of the night due to all the copious amounts of wine I had consumed. The tuna was wonderful, I cooked my pieces to rare and the soy-wasabi sauce was the perfect companion. Again the tuna meat was extremely fresh, firm and of high quality, nice flavor. The chicken was good, cooking it in the broth kept the morsels tender and juicy and the honey mustard sauce was excellent. I probably could have eaten it with a spoon. Finally the beef, my personal favorite. It had really good marbling and was so flavorful. Again I cooked mine to rare and I couldn’t have been more pleased with the flavor of the meat. The Bleu Cheese & Red Wine sauce was a little lack luster for me. It was really thin and the red wine didn’t really come through, but this is such a minor point compared to everything else. Staff: Both the bartender & our waitress worked our table, they may have been the owner(s) so I mean no insult by referring to them simply as the bartender/waitress if they are. Both were extremely nice. The waitress was so pleasant to chat with & genuine, a most important trait. She made us feel welcome, like we were over at a friend’s house having dinner. Pointers: If you go to they often offer gift certificates to this place. I highly recommend picking one up and going. Also, call ahead for a table. As mentioned above there are only four! The other thing I would like to mention is don’t come here looking to eat quickly and get on your way. August Weber Haus is truly about the fondue experience and as such you are served as a leisurely yet perfect pace. Keep in mind they bring and cook everything right at your table and perfection tends to take a little longer than say, TGIF’s. Set aside two hours come here, relax and enjoy a long night of culinary pleasures, you won’t be disappointed.

Hidden in plain sight in Cedarburg is a unique dining experience. This quaint fondue restaurant is just fun. Begin with the German cheese fondue cooked with beer and served with crusty bread. For a cold appetizer, the olive tapenade is salty and piquant; a great offset to the strong yet delicious Blue Cheese fondue. This fondue is served with vegetables in addition to hearty bread. For the main pick from various meat and seafood choices to be cooked in the broth. My only suggestion to Jake, the owner, is to offer a variation of broths for the main course. This four table restaurant offers a great social, leisurely 3-course dinner with friends. Jake is always around with a friendly word and helpful suggestion. The wine list is respectable and the martini’s are quite good. And ending with a divine chocolate dessert fondue is definitely delish.

Wonderful little gem in Cedarburg. Setting — 4-tables and a bar, this is a small place which is largely what makes it so charming. Food — The fondue menu offers 4 varieties of cheese fondue appetizers, 3 entrée options and 3 desserts. Plus, there are non-fondue options. All items on the menu are big enough for 2 – 3 people to share. For the entrees, one is all meat, one is all fish and one is a combination. Each of the proteins comes with a homemade dipping sauce and there are some very tasty ones(i.e. raspberry blue cheese sauce!). I’ve eaten here twice now and I have loved everything I’ve had(read, lapped up every morsel). Drinks — I haven’t studied the wine list(yet!), so I’ll have to reserve comments for a further date. However, they do have an interesting beer menu with 100% local artisan/craft beers which I really appreciate. Service — since the restaurant is small, there is a lot of attentive service. The owner is hands-on and very personable. Everyone will feel special here. Recommendation — call ahead for a reservation. I’ll be entertaining out of town clients here because Cedarburg is such a charming middle-America small town and this restaurant is something different done in a very special way.

We love this place! I cannot believe that little olé Cedarburg has a wine bar and fondue restaurant! Jake has a good selection of wine and great fondue. This place is always fun.
