Mod Salon Spa

I really wanted Mod to be *my* salon. It is consistently the #1 rated salon according to the KCRG A list. I have very fine, thin hair that doesn’t want to do anything. I hoped someone at Mod could work some magic. I forget the stylist’s name, she was very nice but was no magician.

Excellent service, highly skilled staff and very friendly. They know how to do layers and actually use decent products. All my coworkers go here for their hair and none of them ever had a bad thing to say about mod or their hair. Can do different looks very well, excellent bridal service and great regular haircut at an affordable price. Quality work. Keep it up.

You know when you get your hair done, and by day 2 you either know it’s awesome… or it completely sucks. Well, I’m on day 3 and it keeps getting worse… When you spend over $ 140 (including tip) you’d expect to be somewhat happy… My husband didn’t even noticed I got my hair COLORED let alone cut. I still have massive split ends that are clearly visible on my front layers… And my color isn’t even noticeable, it looks just as dull and brassy as when I walked into the salon. I know I should call back and request it to be fixed, but why would I have the person who did a mediocre job the first time «fix» my hair??? I’m really disappointed, and will be headed to Sally’s to fix my own color. WHAT A WASTE OF MONEY. I only gave them the extra star because they were really polite. I know this review isn’t a reflection of the whole salon, I’m sure someone there knows how to color hair, just on my individual experience. Needless to say I’ll be searching for a better a stylist!

Mod Salon is easily the best salon in the Cedar Rapids area! It’s the only salon I’d ever recommend going to! Lisa and Beth are so knowledgable and personally train each stylist and keep them updated on the latest trends and techniques. Mod Salon also carries the most amazing luxury hair care line called Kerastase. I can’t believe I can actually find this product here in Iowa! I’ll never go anywhere else!

Billie is wonderful! I was a little stressed upon arrival because my hair was unbelievably dry and damaged (due to overprocessing at another salon). I walked out smiling, confident and relieved that I found a true color professional that really listens! My hair is feeling much healthier after just one visit! Im so happy that I’ve finally found my color expert who happens to be a beautiful person that made me feel relaxed and very comfortable. I was her only concern during my consult. Thank you Billie! I’m looking forward to my next visit. The products are the best at this salon too!

LOVE Mod Salon! This is the only place I go to get my hair cut and styled and I don’t even live in the area. Very trendy staff, well-​educated and a fun environment. Flexible hours!
