Recently sent three women’s blouses to them to be dry cleaned. Specifically asked for pleats to be done well. Was assured they would be done well. Pleats were never pleated. As I was checking the shirts for pleats, I saw a small hole right in the front of the shirt that was never there before! I ask to speak to the owner and was told she would be there the next afternoon and I could call before I came to be sure she was there. When I called I got a clerk I had previously talked to and and said the tiny hole could have been there when I first brought it in and their machines could not have done that. I said I couldn’t believe they were lying like that and she said she was just saying what the owners had told her to say. I advise everyone to stay away from there. Like one of the other posts, these people just lie whenever they like. Who wants to do business with people like that? Stay away!

I was a very loyal customer for almost 7 years. However, I had dropped off several suits for cleaning prior to my travel for work. The night before I was to leave for Washington, D. C, for a conference, I opened the bag and I smelled a horrible odor. My clothes reeked of an odor that is indescribable. My whole closet began to stink and I was panicking. I needed these suits for a conference and for meetings at a university I was visiting for my job. I frantically wiped the clothes with dryer sheets, hoping that the smell would go away. The next day when I arrived in Washington, I opened my suitcase in front of my two colleagues and we all were overcome with this horrible and disgusting odor. I went out and bought Febreeze and soaked my clothes, again hoping that would solve this problem. It didn’t help. My only remedy was to go out and find another suit and just buy whatever I could find so that I could participate at the conference. Everyone agreed that there was NOWAY I could wear these clothes and talk to potential customers at our vendor booth. I located a Nordstrom Rack and walked 2 miles in downtown Washington D.C., in order to find something to wear. I had called Village Cleaners earlier that day after I had opened my suitcase and spoke with Joan. She didn’t seem to sympathize at all and said that she had worked there for 2 years and this has never happened. I told her that I had been a customer for 7 years and this had never happened. She said to just bring them in and I told her AGAIN that I was in Washington and could not just bring them back right then. I didn’t like her attitude, but there was nothing I could really do right then. I bought a suit for over $ 100.00 that was okay. I had no reason to have to purchase another suit except for the fact that my clothes that they had cleaned could not possibly be worn. In the meantime, I had asked my daughter to take in a few items that I had left behind that were supposed to be packed for my next trip. I only had 1 day(Sunday) in between my trip to D.C., and then on to Michigan. My daughter took those items in while I was in D.C., and spoke with Joan. She told my daughter that she couldn’t smell anything! Are you kidding me? My daughter told her that her car reeked of this awful odor and she had had the clothes in her car for only 5 minutes. With the items that they were to «redo» was a dress and sweater that had not been part of the group that smelled so badly. I had asked my daughter to take those in because I needed something to wear to Michigan. She picked those 2 items up on Saturday and said she didn’t smell anything, but she had not opened the bag. When I returned that Saturday night, I opened the bag and sure enough, the sweater reeked of this odor, but the dress did not! How can that be? So I had to figure out what I could possibly take to Michigan on Monday and I ended up having to take the suit I had to buy in D.C., and just wear it again. When I finally returned on Thursday from all my travel, I took the other items that still smelled so badly that I had taken to Washington and could not wear, to Village Cleaners. Again, I had to speak with Joan. She asked whether I or anyone smoked… I am totally shocked! For one thing the smell was NOT cigarettes, it smelled of a combination of chemicals and body odor. It was horrible. She again was not sympathetic and when I asked for the owner’s number she said she would have him call me. I wanted my original cleaning bill of $ 43.00 refunded but she said no that they had cleaned them again at no charge. I was furious! I thought, well of course you had to redo them and of course you should not charge me again! This was your fault and not mine. The following Monday, I received a call from the Manager and was told there was no smell and that no one else had complained about a smell as I did. So I guess she thinks I made this all up and put myself in a stressful situation to find another suit quickly and not be able to participate in the first night’s reception which could have put my job in jeopardy because I had to SHOP for a new suit, just for fun! Really? Obviously, I will NEVER go back to Village Cleaners and I would warn anyone else to make sure your clothes do not reek of an odor. They say they couldn’t smell anything. I could ask two of my colleagues, my two daughters, and two of their friends to swear on oath that the clothes smelled so badly that it was sickening. These cleaners must be so used to the chemicals that they use for cleaning that it has affected their sense of smell. Like I mentioned earlier, I had been a faithful and happy customer when they were Best Cleaners and had continued with them after they became Village Cleaners and had moved to a new location. I have worked with several people that have come and gone and have always been satisfied with their service. Joan is not one of them. Horrible experience!!!

They put so much starch on my shirt after I asked for light starch. It was insane. I went to have a night out with my lady and the shirt was so overly starched it was like a cardboard shirt. My shirt made noises all night. People were looking around for source all night. I got about 25 shirts cleaned there which was a mistake on my part because I should have given them once first to try out. It was so bad after I got to shirt #11 the buttons were literally falling off from over starching. I was going to give them a one star but I decided on two because they did get the shirts cleaned… but the starch was so overdone it was unforgivable.

Best Cleaners literally is one of the BEST cleaners we have used. Rosie is very friendly and a pleasure to work with. As we have been using Best I feel as if we are friends and not just paying customers. I drop off quite a bit of clothing every week and the turnaround time is phenomenal. The prices are great and they even have a frequent cleaning club card that gives you a nice coupon to apply towards your total! The hours and business location are very convenient. They are literally the«Best Cleaners» around!

I’ve been searching for a good dry cleaners a little over two weeks now and I think I’ve found the one. Rosie helped me out the other day. She was extremely helpful from the moment I even pulled in by helping me into the store with my newborn in hand and then with the service of having my son’s ROTC uniform cleaned and pressed. Being treated as a valued customer is important to me, so much that I have walked out of other businesses because of first impression alone. So far Best Cleaners is doing it right!
