I totally agree with Donna B. Every time I went to Dr. DeHart he wanted to discuss my weight, regardless of my initial complaint. The last straw was when I broke my ankle and needed surgery. He casually mentioned he might amputate my leg while I was under anesthesia. Thankfully, Austin Sports Medicine was courteous, professional, and accomodating.

This was a ridiculous business. Believe me if you’re even a bit overweight, DON’T go there. I was having some back/hip issues. I was told everything I have going on is related to my weight. «Suffering from Dr. DeHart disease». Insert Dr DeHart Big belly laugh here. Not funny and not my problem. During the visit Dr. DeHart asked me if I knew how overweight I am. YES, I do. Do I know what my ideal weight should be? YES, I do. He offered to introduce me to the Bariatric Surgeons down the hall. There is no freaking way I would have that done to my body. I kind of like me round despite what Dr. DeHart thinks. Just so you know weight was’t the problem. It was all in my neck. I went to another orthopedic where I was respected regardless of my size. Save your money and go to an Orthopedic that has at least a little compassion. I say to Dr. DeHart, my weight can be changed but your disrespect for patients unfortunately cannot. I only wish I’d known before I made the $ 45 copay. NEVER again and I will never use any Doctor in this practice because of this one incident.
