Shaune is amazing! After getting a botched hair cut a year ago, I’ve been slowly bringing my hair back from the beyond. Shaune has heped and my hair has never looked so good! I always get a ton of compliments and I highly, highly, highly recommend Bang Salon & Day Spa!

I really wanted to like this salon. It’s a lovely place with kind staff but when it comes to technique and skill, well it’s less than average. I haven’t had my hair colored or permed in over two years (because moving to Texas meant leaving my trusted stylist) and decided I wanted a perm. I’ve had numerous perms in my lifetime but never had one turn out like this one. My hair is already naturally wavy and curly in some parts so it takes to a perm quite well… till this visit. Went in on Friday to have my hair permed and was told I’d be put with someone experienced with perms. I told her I have thick hair and my previous hair stylist usually used two boxes. She only used one, only used one size of rods and when she rinsed it didn’t seem like it was all rinsed out. Then she put on a heavy conditioning cream and used a diffuser on my hair. Before I made it home (which is a 15min drive) I had straight pieces hanging out from underneath and a few on top. By the next morning they were all over. She agreed to try and fix it the next day. When I went in, her solution was re-​perming almost my entire head. She almost didn’t wash it first but I reminded her of the heavy cream she put on the day before. She then did the same one rod size wrap and one box but read the directions this time and decided not to use anything on it because the box said no product, no using heat and no getting it wet for 48 hours. When some of it didn’t seem to curl she offered to do some pin curls with bobby pins in hopes that it would take. The whole time my hair was being permed my back was soaked and I ended up with a chemical burn from no towel catching the run off of the solution! Needless to say I have a crappy hair style, fried hair and still no hair stylist I can trust.
I will add that I called and spoke with Shawn (she’s not the one who did my hair but the manager) and she was very empathetic to how I felt and gave me a refund. I would consider going back but only if I had appt with Shawn.

I love this salon. Don’t pay attention to the one star review. This is a first-​class salon. Everyone who works here is an employee (not a chair renter) and they’re all well trained and wonderful.
Shaune, the owner, is great and is super responsive — a wonderful business owner to get to know.

I had a fantastic experience with Bang! I was referred by a friend after having a horrible time with my hair over the past 6 months or so and not finding anyone that could really help me close by. Shaune listened… REALLY listened to my frustrations, concerns and what I wanted to do. She was wonderful in giving feeback and working with me to get my hair cut in such a way that I could actually grow it back out. Before I walked in to her salon I felt like I needed to hide my head and tell people to look away! My hair was unhealthy, not growing well and looked just awful with the haircut I had. Since I’ve been to Bang, with Shaune’s recommendation in hair care and styling products my hair is much happier, shiny, healthy and growing! The cut made me feel comfortable with my hair for the first time in AGES and I’m so happy. I can’t wait to go back in a couple of week to talk color and get a little freshening up on the cut. I have searched for years for a salon in the Austin area that I could trust and finally, finally, finally I have found one! Couldn’t be happier.

An awesome experience at Bang. I had let my hair go for months and needed to treat myself to a new look. Shaune took her time understanding what I was looking for then proceeded to work her magic. Base color, highlights and a new style. LOVE IT!

I will never go back to this Salon. I had my hair highlighted. Was looking in the mirror on the way home and noticed some hairs on the top of my head sticking straight up! Half inch, some two to three inches. My hair is past my shoulders. I called the owner when I got home and told her what I saw. Although she said she was not doubting what I was telling her she asked that I come in so she could look at my hair. End result she said she saw nothing wrong. I explained that prior to Saturdays visits I didn’t have all these short pieces standing straight up on the top of my head. Her response was new growth!!! I am not happy with how she handled things. I also had another salon look at my hair prior to going back in today. They indicated that those hairs were fried off due to either to the developer or being under the dryer to long. As a business owner hopefully your reading this. In the future don’t act like you see nothing wrong or make excuses maybe at least offer some positive way to correct the mistake and dont waste some ones time!
