This is by far our favorite breakfast restaurant spot. The owners, Dick & Teril Woodward, are always onsite. Their food is always fresh, and they go out of their way to meet all customers’ requests. I love their multigrain pancakes with blueberries, their always crisp bacon, their oatmeal like Mom used to make, veggie omelettes, and literally everything on the menu. On top of that, Teril always has on hand the best banana pudding we’ve ever tasted – either to take home or eat at the restaurant. She also has made up large or small casseroles and other meals frozen to take home. Our favorites are her chicken spaghetti, king ranch casserole, and her chicken penne pasta with basil. There is always a large crowd at lunch with specials every day. You can’t go wrong eating at Dick’s.

This place was excellent for breakfast my wife and kids and I will be back again for sure. I had the big mess and my wife had the Tex mess both very good choices.

The Whole Mess was worth it. First class. Everything else we got was amazing. The French Toast #2 was too much. A little out of the way but keeps it quaint and not too busy when I was there. Great service, the wait staff is friendly and well trained. Go to the right when you get in, grab a menu and choose what sounds good. The coffee was great, too. Can’t wait to try their lunch menu.

Omg I’m officially addicted to this place. 4 straight weekend in a row I’ve brought my family and 4 times they got it right. Even though the lines have been out the door, we were always able to get a table and the food has been more than perfect. You would think with such a big crowd that the food might be subpar, but not here. I’ve tried different items on each occasion and each time I was not disappointed. The food was so good and the portions were big, even though I was stuffed I had to finish because I knew I would regret leaving anything on my plate. I’m thinking crack is one of their ingredient because it’s so addicting.

Even on a super busy Sunday morning The line goes quick. You order your food at the counter and then sit down and they bring it to you. It’s a little strange in that you have to get up and get your own drinks condiments silverware etc. but I do like it and it’s very affordable so I will be back!

Very good lunch can’t speak for the breakfast although it looks great itself. Good customer service little long wait but it’s worth it.

Love this place! Very laid back, «neighborhoody» and diverse establishment. The owners run a tight ship do the workers are always friendly. You definitely feel that sense of community there. I’ve always had the breakfast. The waffles are AMAZEBALLS… just wish they had the traditional chicken wings with them instead of tenders. The banana bread french toast is a highlight as well but I eye balled someone else’s burger the other day and I might have to snag one for lunch soon. Salad bar by the ounce looks good too !

So first visit, we got there a little after 11A. The place was crowded but fully functioning. My husband ordered a number two which was two eggs, 3 slices of bacon, and hash browns he added an extra pancake. He said for him the food was average he may would have cooked the hash browns a little longer. My son had eggs, two slices of bacon, and 2 pancakes. He liked his food. We got a little bit of a surprise while both where ordered as regular pancakes: a blueberry pancake was put on the bottom. Our host was quick to take it away and replace the entire meal with no regards to what my son had already ate. I ate a mini meal which was 1 egg, 2 pieces of bacon, and a slice of French toast. I enjoyed my meal and would go back for a second visit. Especially now since I know how they operate and what is expected of me when I go in. We spent like $ 27 for the three of us, so not too terribly pricey. You go in and while you’re in line you look at a menu when you get to the register: you place your order and leave your name then find a seat(basically an empty table) all the drinks are included: they have fresh coffee, tea, soda. While you’re getting your silverware and drink a host will come to the end of the counter and call your name for you too wave them down and let me know where you’re sitting and they will bring all your food. The food is freshly cooked when you order it and the wait time is not too terribly long. I think next time I’ll come back for lunch and do a lunch review. I can tell you that when I asked the lady does say that their entire menu is available all day, and who doesn’t love breakfast for dinner. **I apologize for not being able to take pictures of all of our food~ we were hungry and my son start playing on my phone and kicked me out of my Unilocal app.**

First time in Dallas and we wanted to pick a place close to where we were staying for a wedding. The food is excellent. They have amazing«Mess» breakfast which means everything you want for breakfast(hash, meat, eggs) stacked on top of each other. I had the mushroom and spinach mess with over easy eggs and my boyfriend had the biscuit and gravy mess with scrambled both delicious. When they ask for toast, muffin or biscuit — the answer is biscuit, light, fluffy, and warm! If I could really rate the coffee and the fact that you serve yourself, this place would get 4 stars. I do wish the coffee was a little better. I ended up grading 5 stars because the food more than made up for anything negative about the place. Worth a visit for local breakfast!

For some reason this place just fits me better than ihop. If it was in old Cedar Hill I probably would like it even more. But even in uptown the«new» area of Cedar Hill it still has the small time diner feel to it. Anyhoo… Weekend mornings are the busiest days. So get there EARLY. Here is my quick rundown… You stand in line and look at the menu and order and pay at the counter. If you get coffee you fix it yourself at the counter. Then have a seat and wait for your name. The menu selections and portions are PLENTIFUL! I’m sitting in my car now to full to drive. The ONLY thing I wish they had was a coffee bar with all different types of coffees. BUT space would be an issues so I understand. Maybe they can have a coffee of the day for something new!

This place is awesome. The food tastes fresh and is nicely priced. They have free WiFi and outdoor seating. The atmosphere is fun and friendly and not too noisy. They have 10TV screens, so there’s more than enough entertainment.

I had the Niner and it was great! Aside from the hash browns being on the greasy side, everything else was perfect! I expected the place to be crowded, it being a Saturday morning and all and I was not disappointed. Although the seating area is a bit tight, it managed to work with the ladies busily bussing tables and assisting customers. I would have liked to have my own bottle of syrup at my table instead of zigzagging through a maze of patrons, however once I tasted the food all bad thoughts left my mind(until I ran out of syrup). Service was excellent. I hope they expand. build-on, or just open at a larger area! Worth the drive!

I live in Grand Prairie where there is a serious shortage of decent breakfast restaurants so we were forced to drive about 8.5 miles south east of us to this nice restaurant which turned out to be a hidden gem! My fajita omelette and french toast were the best I’ve had in the dfw area, my wife loved her veggie mess(she’s very hard to impress) Excellent food, excellent service, great prices and definitely worth the drive, wish they would open one in south Grand Prairie

Absolutely one of the most delightful restaurants to open in the area in recent years. It’s a great to have a new local business in the age of fast food/chain restaurants overrunning small town America. The food is always consistently cooked and the portion size is reasonable for what you order. We’ve tried a few different dishes there over the past year and have enjoyed each one. The Whole Mess is delicious and so is the Reuben. Yum! The only complaint I have is that they aren’t open all the time. ;) How great would it be to be able to order breakfast for dinner?! We’ll keep visiting and trying new dishes until we’ve cleared the menu.

Had the café deli sandwich. Nothing special. Could’ve done this at home. I had a poor experience with the cashier. I asked her what other dressing do you have besides mustard and mayonnaise. She said«like what?» I said«do you have vinaigrette?» She said«we have red wine vinegar and oil.» I said«perfect.“She rudely turned her nose up at me as if that was a disgusting request. Umm news flash lady your in the freaking restaurant business! Your supposed to have great customer service. It’s not your business to judge what I want on my sandwich. If I want you to smear honey all over it you better damn well do it. I will not be back.

Wednesday, 11:30 a. m Simple décor, friendly and relaxed environment, and delicious food. I highly recommend the #3 breakfast with corned beef hash. The chicken and waffles were decent but not the best. This place is order at the register then self serve everything else. Nothing else to say about this place except that it has such a casual and friendly environment. I do wish their coffee wasn’t that community stuff that you get a car dealerships. Definitely give this place a try if you’re looking for some yummy brunch!

If there is a better breakfast spot in town, This Unilocaler doesn’t know it, and he’s been around. Dick’s Uptown café is the café to beat, Every other café wishes it were this neat. The breakfast is good, I declare, it is tops, Chef Jaime the man on the line with the chops, From the messes and omelets, to the biscuits and grits, Dicks Uptown café gives my taste buds the fits. The service is pleasant, the atmosphere nice, The food’s always fresh and it mirrors the price, Though some have said food didn’t agree with their palates, This reviewer thinks they got hit in the head with mallets. Dick and Teril are friendly, they treat you with grace, I’m thankful they chose Cedar Hill for this place. I thank God for this place, and their food, its not slop, If I want slop I know my way to the IHOP.

Free Wifi! Nice for a breakfast place. I also love supporting local business. Clean, friendly & bright and the owners greeted me and gave me the drill-cue up, order, pay & sit and your food will come out to you. A great place for a quick coffee clutch for hungry sales reps! I ended up with an egg beater/turkey sausage burrito. The various«messes» look awesome but I can’t handle that much this morning. Great food and definitely will be in the starting rotation for breakfast!
