Mod

No one likes to write a negative review but yet it’s important to enlighten others if you have a bad experience and save them from same. Thankfully, I’ve only visited two businesses in the last couple of years that have been so unsatisfactory that I felt compelled to send out distress signals and stop signs. Mod salon is one of them. RUDE! I went for a color consultation and the owner at Mod wanted to soak me for as much $ as she could possibly get and basically string out what should be a simple, straightforward process. She acted like I wanted the moon on a silver platter (and would be paying for it, too). She was condescending in her communication and acted like she was doing me a favor instead of appreciating my patronage as a customer/​client. I went to another salon the very same day and when I told her what Mod had quoted me for a price and explanation of service she laughed and was actually in disbelief! My overall impression is that the owner at Mod thinks her salon is the only game in town, yet I have 2 friends who had gone there unbeknownst to me (or would have warned me) and said they did not/​will not go back. I won’t be going back, either. There are several places in the area with a more caring staff and far better value for your money.

My friend’s wedding party used this salon to do our updo for her wedding. I’m pretty sure the bride is a regular here since she seemed to know a few of the stylists. Everyone was super friendly. I even chatted with my stylists, Kim I think her name was, and I’m not a chatter. I was completely comfortable and felt very welcomed.
So 5 bridesmaids, 1 personal attendant and 1 bride — all of our hair turned out beautifully. The bride’s friend/​stylist came to the church about a ½ hour before the actual ceremony to touch up the bride’s hair and touched up a few brides maids while she was at.
A few of the girls got their makeup done as well and they did a great job making the makeup flawless and not heavy at all. I’ve had bad experiences with salons doing my makeup before an event before so I did my own but I was very impressed with the job Mod did.
