IRONCOUNTY Taxi Friendly and go casual, comfortable type bar. The place to be on Friday night’s Live bands show there from all over the country, esp. around Groove Fest time.

There aren’t a lot of bars in this town, but this is one we did find… Pros: — Clean bathrooms(I mean, really clean) — Decent drinks(of course, you have the insane Utah liquor laws so don’t expect too much) — Not expensive — Decent sized place, indoor and outdoor areas to hang. — Good jukebox Cons: — Pool area was tooooooo bright. Knock some of those lights down a notch! — Insane Utah liquor laws(not Mike’s fault, but I have to vent anyway) If you’re looking for a dark(not the pool table area) place to chill with a drink and listen to some tunes, this might be the best option you have.

Good cold beer after a long day touring the Bryce Canyon The bratwurst with saukrawt was excellent but I would have preferred if it came with fries instead of having to order a separate plate Freindly staff

Nice place with beer and pool tables, which is just what my wife and I like. I would have given them a 4-star rating if it weren’t for the over-served local who came in to the pool room where we were playing(the only ones there), pulled up a chair 6′ from us, and just stared at us playing pool for over ½ hour. I don’t know if this guy was just drunk-lonely, a mental case, or dangerous, but he was definitely creepy. I would have said/done something, but my wife hates it when I «make a scene», so we finished our pitcher of beer and left. Since Utah has so few places you can actually go in and drink and socialize, I guess this is what happens when heavy drinkers all go to the same place.

Cedar city has only two options of a night life, and with that in mind mikes tavern is not a bad option at all. It is the more relaxed choice with a slightly older crowd. It does offer DJs and live music events. The bar itself is very open and enviting with posters, a giant mirrored wall and a few bar games(3 pool tables in the back, and two old arcade games). The staff are that typical tuff around the edges but actually very kind. Mikes also has the cheaper drink prices of the two and that is always a plus!

Good little hole-in-the-wall bar. Friendly staff. Generally better music than the other bar option(s) in town.

Quiet Sunday night. Regulars hustling the pool tables. Not a bad joint for a small town. Lots of room to mingle, even though there wasn’t a lot of people. Definitely a low key Sunday Funday kind of place. Cheep beer. The only place I’ve seen amber bock on draft. To include Reno and Las Vegas.

Nice enough place. Typical small town Tavern. Fairly dark, 3 pool tables, and even a small stage. I visited on a weekday in the afternoon, it was quiet, slow, and the staff was friendly, with a handful of regulars in the corner. A decent beer selection as well.

5 Sterne weil es hier Bier gibt. Es ist wirklich schwer Bier in Utah zu finden. Unter uns: der Laden ist schräg. Rocker, Drunken People, leicht siffig, aber alle super freundlich! Also: wer nach Cedar City kommt und Lust auf ein Bier hat: kommt her. By the Way: das Bier hat nur 3,2% Umdrehungen wie in ganz Utah.

Very inexpensive. Dark all the time. Nice staff, but can take longer at times for drinks. It is what it is.

I’m visiting from Utah Valley and I enjoyed Mike’s while my parents saw a play. The staff was friendly and helpful. I had a couple shots, enjoyed the music and light show, played some terrible pool and ate some fantastic mozzarella sticks. I rarely go out to bars to drink and never alone and yet I still had a great time. I would definitely go again.

This is my digs. Biker bar with a stripper pole and pool tables. Holla! Beer and whiskey? They have them both waiting for me. Here for the Shakespeare Festival and love that we are appreciated!!! The scene is young, but not fratty. I don’t think I’ve heard the songs they play since high school — *cough* six years ago… but whatever. I like it. I like a lot.

Good place for a drink after a long day of work. Friendly staff(especially to us Shakespeare Festival folks), good prices, and the pool tables are fun. Karaōke’s great, too. Not the best for mixed drinks; it’s more of a beer and shot kinda place. But don’t let that stop you; Mike’s is a good small-town bar.

No strip clubs in southern utah, so had to restort to a bar. It was Saturday so Karoke night. Most drinks were around $ 3.75. Nice and attentive staff, 4 stars mostly for cheap drinks and raiders /darren macfadden fans. In talking with a couple locals they were huge on the raiders and mcfadden. 4 stars for the good football/raiders talk cheap drinks and the guy in the corner with a Russelll Westbrook jersey. UCLA Rep!

Not a bad place, they have a couple pool tables and they had strippers brought in the night I was there, witch is a good thing because there are no strip clubs around for miles and miles. It a good small town bar.

I’m not huge on the party scene, so I have a really good time at Mikes. Low key, good drinks, and good people. It has a nice layout with wood floors, and a good amount of seating. There’s even a dance pole, if your into that sort of thing;) Pool tables and karoke on friday nights. The staff is friendly and helpful. My only critique is their mixed drink selection is small, but it really isn’t that sort of place. The other bar in town does have a better selction, but is a real meat market so I don’t go there often. So if you’re looking for a good place for drinks in Cedar City I reccomend Mikes.

I couldn’t tell you about other nights of the week but Friday night — or at least this particular Friday — was all you could want from a karaōke scene. Or a local watering hole, for that matter. Pool was being shot in the back, Pearl Jam was being belted from the stage, flat screen TVs displayed the speed skating short track action from Vancouver. The crowd was impressively diverse and the singers were too, everybody from elderly ranchers crooning a bit of George Strait to a skater girl in shades dishing some Pretenders to a couple of Hawaiian guys laying down the Bobs: Marley and Seger. A trio of cute and goofy young French tourists showed up with passports for their ID and mumbled their way through some eurovision song. That too was accepted for what it was. That was the thing I liked: everybody sang, there were no prima donnas and nobody was agonizingly awful either. All were just there to have a good time. From the singer’s perspective, it was a high quality setup. Shawn’s songbook didn’t seem huge but had a great variety of songs. Amazingly, nearly every song I could think of doing was in that book. The sound system was top-notch, including the cordless mics and monitor speakers. The eponymous Mike himself greeted us at the door and checked our IDs and you have to like that in a tavern. The draft beer selection went beyond the Budmillercoors basics and included a Czech lager and a couple of hefeweizens. They have a full bar with mixed drinks, too. I don’t know about the cocktails but the beer prices were a bargain — I got an imperial pint of amber ale and two bottled waters for about $ 5. A regular patron who we’ll call«Bob» was celebrating his birthday and after we all sang him Happy Birthday everybody got a piece of chocolate cake. As we were leaving Bob stopped us and asked if we were coming back. «Next time,» he told my friend, «you have to sing.» Bob waved off any objections that he can’t sing. «Everybody can sing. Everybody needs to sing. Most of all because it scares the shit out of you. We might not be able to skydive or drive race cars but getting up there and singing scares the fuck out of you just as good.»
