First let me say that Linda, the lady who runs this place, is really nice and I knew I wasn’t signing up for first class accommodations or anything, but this was a strange little place. Clean, but strange. When I was looking for lodging in the area I found that the pickings were slim. This place was listed as being a one-unit«inn» adjacent to the World’s Largest Ball of Twine and that’s what it was… a little cottage with a lovely patio, right smack dab across the street from the twine. Linda was very helpful and told me that the restaurant in town would be closed when I arrived because it was a Monday, but that I could go across the street to the bar and they’d make me a sandwich. She also left me a few little twine-related souvenirs, a nice note welcoming me, and a length of twine so I could add to the ball’s official stats. The cottage sleeps five and you pay $ 30 per person, in cash. It’s a value for one or two people, but at max capacity, $ 150 seems like it would be awfully steep. All in all, it was part of the experience and if you’re brave(which you probably are if you’re coming alllll the way to Cawker City for the twine), it’s probably your best bet.
