I had previously made the mistake of taking my car to Wal-​Mart for a oil change, to fix a flat, and mount & balance. Wal– Mart ended up doing everything wrong and I do mean everything wrong. I work in collision repair and heard nothing but good things about Travis and the rest of his crew. I took my Jeep over to the shop and was immediately assisted with a smile and people who looked like they actually take pride in their craft. Travis the owner actually insisted on taking the test drive with me. We drove around for 20 minutes and went over what we were feeling off with alignment, steering wheel, and tires. I dropped my car off confident with Travis and his crew. Picked my car up a few hours later. And it drove better then it did when I pulled off the dealership parking lot. He wrote a detailed report and even had the tech who worked on my vehicle explain exactly what he had to correct due to Wal-​Marts neglect. To make a story short, if you care about your vehicle, don’t search anymore Unilocal reviews. Go straight to Travis and his crew if you want honest and quality work from people who actually take pride in what they do.

Just want to say a Huge Thank You to Travis and Staff for the excellent service on my motorhome. I was referred to them by Parkhouse Tire for cupping of the front tires and after a thorough inspection New Shocks were in order. The Coach was completed on time and is so much better. If you want truly excellent, professional service Sun Air is the place. Thank You.

Definitely better than most! I wasn’t happy with the two days it took to do a break job on my 2007 Avalon, but fortunately I didn’t need my car for a couple of days.
The job was done properly with no complaints! Would go back!

Earlier reviews address autos or small trucks; this review is related to Motor home work that was requested and paid for. We purchased a used RV and I wanted to start out knowing the full condition. I requested a safety inspection and service; the inspection revealed some mechanical problems which were addressed. New house batteries were installed; unfortunately they were installed incorrectly leading to electrical failure while traveling. Brakes were inspected and reported in good shape; later inspection revealed rotor’s were badly worn, glazed and warped; this cause another repair while traveling. There are a few other items that were less that professional in my opinion. I will not utilize Sun Air again but if you take your RV there ensure that you are clear in your request; ask to see old parts and remember a written report is useless a thousand miles down the road. My Ford Taurus made a growling sound under the hood. I went to Sun Air and asked them to diagnose it. Instead of writing «diagnose noise», the service writer wrote up a complete check of the air conditioner system, and suggested it would cost $ 1200.
I noticed that they keep customers far away from the service area, with signs saying «no customers». I also noticed that they emphasized how difficult it is to meet state standards, and told me that they had to check if someone had put in butane in my car. Butane? I have a noise like a pulley sound! What’s the connection?
I went to another shop in the area and had the compressor changed for $ 600, and the noise disappeared. The owner invited me to watch the repair, which took about an hour. Car now runs great, and quietly. All I want is a mechanic that can solve my problem without creating ten more.

It took us a few weeks to find the right shop for a major air conditioning problem we had. So grateful that the work lived up to everything we saw on Unilocal!

Travis and Carla Grove have been doing business in Cathedral City for many years.
Their reputation for quality and honesty is well deserved.
My wife and I have three vehicles that are kept in tip top condition by the skilled technicians, all of whom have been long time employees.
Paul, Paco, Daniel and Mike can handle the most difficult jobs.
They have the trust of the Cathedral City Police and Fire departments to service and maintain their emergency equipment. The waiting room is very clean and comfortable. A big plus if you need to get work done while you are there.

So far so good. Took my 2004 Toyota Tundra in and had a radiator and front axle assembly replaced. The owner Travis seemed knowledgeable about Toyota trucks and I felt confident they would do a good job. Their hourly prices were sort of the upper middle range in the area. I will probably go back here in the future for more repairs.
Update. The new radiator sprung a leak! It happens. I was stuck in another town and the tow truck driver took my truck to a random shop. Long story short Travis wrote me a check for the new radiator I had to buy so I didn’t have to wait for the warranty reimbursement to come through. Just really impressed with these guys personally and professionally.

update to add another thing I am impressed with. I’ve been back a couple more times for required upkeep on my van — and they are always friendly, explain everything fully and are very trustworthy.
PLUS — the bathroom is the cleanest I have ever seen in any auto related place — dealership, repair shop, oil change, car wash — anything like that — this is the nicest place and that reflects well their efforts to make it a top notch business.
Customer for life now — you can’t go wrong here.

Finding a good automotive mechanic is like to finding a good doctor. You need somebody that you can trust to be there for you in the good times and the bad.
I have been using SunAIr Alignment and Automotive Repair for a few years now and have always found them to be exceptional in terms of professionalism, reliability, quality of work, and fair pricing. The business is family owned with the owner, Travis, being an experienced mechanic that has always been capable and available to answer any of my questions regarding estimates and services performed. I have had many services done for my car from oil changes/​tire rotations to more serious repairs such as head gasket replacement.
From my poor experiences with other mechanics I have come to appreciate the trust I have built in this shop. Small details such as the well-​maintained landscaping, cleanly interior, posted accreditations, and spacious waiting room have only added to my good experience here. I, like many people, look to Unilocal or google reviews before I visit a new business/​restaurant and I hope this review will encourage others to try SunAir if they are not satisfied with their current mechanic.

We recently moved here from the Bay Area-​My husband had been to the Nissan dealership 5 times – to address an alignment problem with his Nissan SER.-we took it to these people-​and they fixed it in ONE hour! And they did not charge a gazillion dollars to fix it, either!
