We started off with the California rolls. Right when they came out I knew this place was a bad idea. Most decent places tell you on the menu if they use imitation crab meat but they didn’t. It wasnt even shreded like they were trying to pass it off. The rice had a day old mushy texture; that of store bought sushi. Next we tried the maki maki. It was supposed to be spicy tuna but there was no heat at all. The tuna was warm and looked like it had been sitting out as the juices were soaked into the congealed rice. I got the jalapeño poppers hoping that something non sushi would be a bit better and they were actually pretty good. Besides the jalapeños being raw I would eat it again. But not good enough to return. The staff were friendly at least.

Just left Joe’s Sushi with a great experience nd had a successful business meeting filled with prompt refills nd great food. Anything with mango is great nd has a memorable flavor you shouldn’t keep to yourself. Don’t be afraid to try anything with some heat

We were disappointed in the rice used for the sushi today as it seemed to be dry and have no flavor at all. They were stingy with the wasabi which also seemed bland and without any heat. The service was okay, but we sure have had better sushi and will try some other sushi restaurant in town next time.

Anyone who gives this place more than one star on drugs, I don’t know what I was thinking when I gave this place 5 stars and an amazing review back in 2011 but four years later it has now become the worst sushi place I’ve ever been to. The fish was warm the salmon was warm, it took 15 minutes after ordering our appetizer just to get the appetizer then took an additional 10 minutes to get the first sushi roll, then another 6 minutes to get the second sushi roll. We will not be coming back and I will never recommend this place to any of my followers friends or family members.

Just went there for lunch. All I wanted was the miso soup and the che che special. I had not been there in about 6 months but figured everything would be good as it had been in the past. However, I was completely disappointed! The Che Che’s were soggy, warm at best and one of the peppers was old and looked dark grey in color(hope I don’t get sick). The miso soup is gross. I used to love it so not sure if they lost the chef and their recipes or what but this stuff tasted awful! I regret spending my $ 9 there. NEVER going back. There are plenty of other sushi places that are delicious so I will go there instead.

Love Joes Sushi! Were regular customers here but lately the service has been downgrading so much. Today topped it off that’s why I’m giving them one star. The service was horrible which is really saddening because the food is awesome! Our server only delivered food and picked up the plates; apart from that we did not get any attention at all. They were not busy at all, I kept seeing the servers talking in the back kitchen, which is very frustrating especially when I come in the mood of spending a lot of money. It really ruins your meal when you don’t have friendly customer service. Sadly I will not be coming back.

Service is ok. The workers look a little sloppy, but nice. The sushi is basic. A lot if imitation crab and cream cheese nothing special. If you’re a real sushi lover, this isn’t the place to go to.

This place is seriously the best sushi place I have ever been too! The waitresses are seriously the best! Better than any other sushi place I’ve been to in the valley. They’re always so nice and attentive every time we’ve been here they go beyond to make sure that you’re having the best eating experience! If you decide to go you have to try the Che Che special seriously so amazing!!! And the Alexia roll is hands down my favorite!

Small place. Came for all you can eat but was disappointed that not all their rolls are not on the menu. Instead maybe 12 at most. Service was good but again disappointed with the selection for $ 25.

Joe’s is the place to go for sushi! They have the best teriyaki chicken! I am for sure coming back!

Wish I could say I was crazy about Joe’s … his other dishes might be good but not the sushi and hence my rating. The service was not bad but they had little understanding of Japanese cuisine. They should say Joe’s Crazy Teriyaki sushi is a whole different beast.

Cozy, friendly, ol skool . Got my order wrong, but it was delicious. I ordered shrimp tempura(which I was cravin so bad) and they gave me shrimp tempura roll(higher price to not get what I craved & didn’t check the take-out before leaving; I was soooo unhappy), but it was tasty. I recomend, but you have to be very accurate when you order. Chefs great; service eh. Didn’t get a greating when I came in. Wasn’t sure if I should seat myself or what. I didn’t feel welcomed there. Good food, but I don’t know if I’d go back.

This pleasant restaurant easily rates 4 stars for quality and value. I had teriyaki salmon with rice and a salad, and split a California Roll(don’t remember which roll) with a friend. The salmon was excellent as was the salad, and the roll was quite good, too. Service here is very friendly and prices are reasonable. If I lived in the Palm Springs area, I’d be a regular customer here.

I understand this is a local favorite but honestly I think most of the good reviews are from people who haven’t been to many sushi places. I have now been here a few time both at lunch and dinner, and have had the AYCE and regular menu items. Unfortunately I was thoroughly unimpressed in all cases. Atmosphere 2⁄5: This place is tiny 15 table seats and 8 bar seats tops and a bit run down. The owner has tried to spruce it up with some decorations but its still could use some serious work. Most of the cracks have some sort of dirt or grime. The fish cases don’t fit or they tried to overlap and you can easily see behind the bar and that area needs the most cleaning of all. The bar counter are pieced together unevenly with many pieces of granite and the tables are plain beat. Service 3⁄5: Service was probably the best part of the experience at Joes and it was Just ok. It may have been a language a barrier but both the chefs and the servers seemed far more interested in their own conversation(whatever it was). Food 1.5÷5: The quality here is questionable and sporadic at best. On two of the three occasions I ate here the rice was either mushy or undercooked with the third being just ok and with both the AYCE and a la carte there was way too much. The cooked food was tough and very under seasoned with the calamari and tempura veggies being greasy. Finally the most importantly the fish, this hand down the most important aspect of a sushi joint and it wasn’t good. Most of the fish was either slimey, pale or reeking of a foul fishy smell I fortunately never got sick but on one occasion it was a serious concern. Overall 2⁄5 Honestly I will never be back. I have given this location its three strikes and they’re out. Most of my favorite food comes from holes that are beat but this place just cant pull it off if they can’t fix the food quality and the food portions right. Find a better fish supply and take a close look at the details. The only thing I imagine this place only afloat is the locals that don’t know better or don’t care.

If I could I would rate this place zero stars. I ordered the tempura udon soup«to go», and they literally took 50 minutes to cook. I’ve been to other sushi places and it doesn’t take that long to make. After receiving it I knew there was 4 things wrong with the soup. 1)The broth did not taste right, too much soy sauce. 2)The fish cakes in the broth was not fresh and the texture of it was rough to eat. 3)Overpriced udon really $ 14? 4)The tempura shrimp itself was soggy. Would not recommend this place.

Great place! There food is super juicy and the customer service is amazing! Very nice staff! Our waitress went above and beyond! She would check up on us but not too much in an annoying way. She brought us chips with the ceviche when it wasn’t even included. When I asked for lemons she brought a whole bunch. She genuinely cared that we have an awesome lunch! I also loved that they had food that I haven’t tried yet at a sushi place. I eat sushi a lot and it’s nice to go places that have completely new things for me to try!

Let me start of by saying that they give every customer a warm welcome as soon as they walk through their doors. That’s awesome! I had the«Chino Special» tonight & it was the best deep fried roll I have ever had. Not only are you able to experience great food, you also experience a whole new level of customer service. Memo the sushi chef is the best! He remembers your name & makes you feel right at home. This place is great!
