Arrived at 8:35. Turned away as they were already ‘closing,’ but 9:00 closing time posted. Sushi was obviously already put away. They should post their real closing time and save a wasted trip. — can’t comment on the food, of course.

the bathrooms are disgusting. These guys are charging«expensive sushi» prices with bathrooms that look like gas station bathrooms.

Upon entering the first thing I see through the drapes to the kitchen is someone reclined, shoes kicked off and bare feet crossed up on the kitchen counter. Gross! Why would you do that? So unsanitary and in direct sight of the front door. Regardless of how good or bad the food is I don’t think I’ll be eating here again.

Hands down, the best sushi in Castle Rock! In the world? …no, but best in C-Rock. Unilocal will now require more information to post this, but that’s all I really gave right now. Hopefully this random typing will allow this to post.

A college buddy and I decided to meet for dinner and, after consulting a few restaurant apps, we chose Sushi Castle. The restaurant is comfortable and pleasant in décor. Warm smiles greeted us as we arrived. We were given our choice of tables, and we were seated right away. I noted patrons dressed casually and some who were a little more dressed up; a very relaxed environment. The sushi order form was already at the table, so we started making our selections right away. The waitress was there in less than a minute, and she gave us a warm welcome. She answered a few questions for us, and took the order after bringing our beers. The sushi was tasty and well presented. We had sushi, nigiri, and sashimi. All very nice and fresh. This was a very nice experience and I will certainly return. The only challenge was parking access; my GPS took me in from behind the strip mall and it told me I had arrived when I was looking at the back of a taekwondo school and an alley(?), so I missed it the first time and had to drive around the block again once I figured out how to get there. There may be access from the main road, but it was night time, I’m old, and I wasn’t able to see it very well. I should also mention that the men’s bathroom could use some minor touch up painting and a sprucing up.

I have been a commercial fisherman and have been saltwater sport fishing since 4 and have been a sushi lover since 12. I know my fish and my sushi. It’s all flown in even in Ca. so that is not a good excuse for bad sushi. It’s the cuts and the freshness that counts. Ie. the whole tuna is not used for sushi and the places that use the whole tuna get their stuff at a discount and you get what you pay for. I moved to Co from Ca.(got smart) a couple years ago and have been searching a GOOD sushi bar since I arrived. Sushi Katsu in Centennial is great and is owned and operated by a Japanese chef. This place is way bad. The owner would not come out to talk. The nuri(sea weed) was old and chewy not fresh and crunchy and the portions way too small.

Very good good. Service was pleasant. Food took awhile but nothing major. I was extremely happy with the rolls(Castle Rock, 2nd Caterpillar & Alaskan). It was spendy but worth it.

The wait staff was awesome, the Avalanche roll was perfect, crispy on the outside with cream cheese on top! The yellowtail is usually good here, but today it was tough and seemed to be a worse cut than the last time I was here, hmmmm.

Love the food and the service. Hate the prices. If they were even slightly more reasonable with better choices for kids dishes we would eat here all of the time. It has potential but be prepared for the bill $$$.

Came here because of the great reviews and was pretty disappointed. The sushi tasted a little off(I ordered tuna, yellowtail, albacore, and a tuna roll) and I was sick the entire night. Definitely stick to the cooked fish here.

On first visit we left this place without ordering because we waited 20 minutes at our table without service. Based on friends recommendations we went back. It’s been great since then. Not sure what happened the first visit but they are better staffed and very friendly. Food is on par or a bit better than most sushi in the Castle Rock area. Glad they redeemed themselves and we get to visit regularly now.

This place is a hidden gem. Great friendly service, and the sushi was wonderful. All of the sushi tasted fresh and flavorful. The sushi menu has all the classic rolls but also has some pretty creative ones. The sunshine roll was our favorite-definitely different from more traditional rolls, but delicious! Also, their crab cheese rangoons were stuffed full and very tasty. We will definitely be back!

The first time my wife and I visited we did not like the food. However we decided to try it a second time and lived to regret it. The wait staff was friendly at first. However, the miso soup tasted strange, and the green tea tasted terrible. My wife liked her sushi, but the orange chicken was about the worst I’ve had. I told the server that I didn’t like the orange chicken. To my surprise, she did not take it away and did not offer me anything else! When leaving, I expected to have the orange chicken removed, but we were still charged. Our server argued that there was nothing wrong with the food, and refused to let me speak to a manager. A $ 52.00 sushi lunch that I never wish to repeat. I’ve never been treated this way at a restaurant, and will never go back to Sushi Castle.

Sushi Castle is in a nice little strip mall in Castle Rock. The service we received was fine, our waiter made sure our water glass was full at all times, promptly took our orders, and promptly brought us our check at the end of our meal. The music was a little ironic for a sushi restaurant, blink 182? We started with miso soup which was basically a strange tasting miso broth. I had one tiny little piece of tofu in my broth, and no seaweed or onions or any other textural elements to the soup. And did I mention that the flavor was not good? We next had the house salad which was also really bad. Iceberg lettuce with an overly gingered thick salad dressing. Took two bites and I was done. We had a spicy tuna roll, rainbow roll, and an Alaskan roll. The sushi was mediocre at best. The wait for the sushi was super long, I would hate to be there when they are busy. We couldn’t wait to clear the taste out of our mouth with some froyo next door. I would love to give Sushi Castle a second chance but I just don’t think I could bear it.

First experience here was not so good due to a very poor wait staff. BUT… everything deserves a second go, so we went a few months later. Now, it is our favorite local sushi hangout! The staff now is great, the food is excellent. You have to try the Sunshine Roll and the White Castle Roll. I have taken clients and friend from out of town here and they dream about these tow rolls now and want to go every time they are in town. No, seriously! It is THE place for SUSHI in Castle Rock, CO

Headline: Good Sushi in Castle Rock — who knew? Sushi Castle is an unassuming place in a strip mall on Founders Parkway. It takes a little bit to find the entrance, and when we got there — lunch time on Saturday — it was dead. Good for us, since we got superb service. Technically, it’s Japanese Fusion, but I saw Korean and Chinese on the menu as well. On to the food: Fried Kaki: freshly shucked oysters, breaded and deep fried with tempura sauce — nicely crunchy but the breading and frying masks the sweetness of the oysters. Still a nice dish. Mushroom Poppers: stuffed with a beef-pork mixture and crab cream cheese, then breaded and deep fried — assertive taste but volcanic cream cheese when you first bite into them. Watch out! This dish needs the supplied sauce to add the touch of saltiness. I would have preferred it to be served for dipping instead. Bronco Roll: deep fried shrimp and spicy tuna topped with salmon and avocado. The shrimp was soggy and the spice didn’t allow other flavors to come through. Nice enough, especially if you like the spicy rolls, but I thought it was a disappointment. Rising Sun: tuna mixed with scallions and the chefs special dressing. Dressing is light but way too much of it. Served on a bed of seaweed and cucumber. This is a must have dish. They just need to cut back on the amount of dressing. Given we are land-locked, there are actually a bunch of high-quality sushi places, and this one has just been added to my list.

Maybe my expectations were too high or it was an off night. I enjoyed the freshness of the sushi but the service, ambiance and some dishes were lacking. Our family of five came in around 7:30 pm and there were several open tables however, it took a while for the host/waiter to finish on the phone, ring up a ticket then seat us. Once seated, it was difficult to actually talk with our waiter. It seemed he was trying to wait on everyone as well as handle to go orders and more. The ambiance was definitely disrupted by the two tables of children that were being allowed to run in circles screaming in the main dining area.(I realize that this is not the fault of the restaurant but that of the parents who allowed this behavior however the result is still a loss of of enjoyment to all customers dining in this chaos.) Anyway, we ordered a mix of sushi, sushi rolls, starters and one diner had pork katsu. My sons hot and sour soup was tasty but was unusual in that it contained several different types of whole mushrooms. Nontraditional but inspired. The sushi ranged from delicious, i.e. the special«Franktown roll» which was creative, fresh and delish! The remaining rolls we tried were less wonderful. The spicy tuna had nice flavor but was rather small and loosely rolled. The Bronco roll was a strange(not in a good way) mix for me… to many different seafood flavors fighting each other resulting in a gooey mess. I recommend skipping that one. The salmon and albacore sushi was fine, nothing special but nothing wrong either. The member of our group who had the pork katsu actually raved that his dish was great. He even enjoyed the mixed vegetables that were flavored with a delicious sauce. Basically, very hit and miss for our sushi experience. Then, when you weigh in with a steep bill, harried and absent server and a chaotic dining room filled with screaming children I have to say I would be reluctant to return. ***I love that a restaurant welcomes families and I am not sure if there is anything a restaurant can do when parents won’t ask their children to behave with manners. I just know that the screaming and running really diminished our experience and the overall ambiance this place might want to achieve.
