As good as it gets. Delicious burgers and BBQ. Great portion for foodies. Sampled the non seafood Jambalaya. Looking forward to lunch tomorrow, gotta have more of that Jambalaya. Perfect amount of kick to the spice, not for the faint of heart. Everything made from scratch. Excellent hometown BBQ!!!

Not a bad place if you’re looking for a casual atmosphere and good homemade food at a reasonable price. The brisket was good but I wished they had served the bbq sauce on the side instead of drowning the meat in it. The potato salad was good. My friend got the coleslaw and it had raisins in it. I’m picky about my coleslaw so I was glad I didn’t get it. The fried okra was very good. The Mac and cheese wasn’t bad but it had been microwaved to reheat so the sauce separated a little. The cherry cobbler was very good. I didn’t try the cornbread but others did and said it was good. I was also impressed that they make fresh tea every day. I’m from TX and we don’t mess around with that instant tea so it was nice to get some good quality tea. I would definitely return if I happened to be in the area again.

Got the brisket sandwich with the fried okra lunch special. It was delicious and the customer service was exceptional. Definitely will be back

Good bbq sauce. The chicken and brisket was very tender and flavorful. Mac n cheese needs more flavor

We stopped on a whim. I am opening a BBQ truck so I taste everything in the area I can. I thought the baked beans were good. They had good flavor and nice chunks of pork. The pork was tender and so was the one bite of ribs that I had. I wished I could have ate the ribs and pork without the BBQ sauce. The sauce tasted like an ashtray smells. If that makes sense? I might go back but I wouldn’t get the sauce.

After working long hard days out in the field I choose my favorite place the old West BBQ for my second wind. They are very polite and professional the breakfast burritos are one of my favs. Highly recommended for anyone who is looking for quality food.

Ok brisket sandwich however the bread was not fresh. The customer service was outstanding. I just wish they would upgrade on their side items and deserts. If I were to go back the meat is what is special here as well as the employees.

The food is not very good. Went there for lunch twice because it is a block from our shop. Food was Luke warm and not very flavorful. For the money I expected more. Extremely overpriced for the low quality. I may be spoiled from our home made smoked meats but this place did not seem worth the money to me. And the sauce was not very good to me at all!

Their breakfast burritos are the bomb! Huge and yummy and they weren’t to high prices for what you get! BBQ is ok. But I’m not a huge BBQ fan. Did I mention the breakfast burritos are the bomb?

I have been going to this place since it opened. There hasn’t been a time that I haven’t seen a smile on the owners face and a twinkle in those baby blues. The food is so good. The breakfast burritos are addictive, so be careful. Old West has catered a couple events for my business here in town. We fight over the leftovers. The food is so good that even if the people were jerks, you’d put up with it. Good thing the people AND the food are awesome.

We just moved to CR, wanted to give this place a try. We were very pleased. Service from Benny was outstanding. She went above & beyond to welcome us & take care of our order. We enjoyed our brisket, pulled pork sandwiches fresh cut fries. So delicious.

Very tender and flavorful brisket at this family-owned establishment. I found the restaurant to be very clean, the food all homemade from scratch tasty and the staff very friendly. Owner was on site

Was hoping this quaint, ranch/like bbq place was going to be great. It was adequate. The picnic tables and burlap curtains give it a «home on the range» vibe. The ladies waiting on us were courteous. The restroom floor was sticky. I had the pulled pork sandwich which has a small amount of sauce. It was slightly dry and would have liked more sauce available. The homemade potato salad was just ok. I probably won’t return anytime soon

I wasn’t expecting to like the meal as much as I did; this place has little competition in the area and isn’t in a large city. But it was an excellent meal. We had the 3-bone ribs and a brisket sandwich — of which I didn’t eat the bun. I wanted to sample the brisket on its own. And, for that reason, we ordered the sauce on the side in both cases. The ribs were large, juicy, had enough rub with the right amount of salt, and had a nice deep smokey flavor, all the while being fall-off-the bone tender, literally. I really liked the sauce — although everyone has a different idea of what good sauce is.(I just don’t get the vinegar sauces in the Carolinas, but then, I didn’t grow up there.) I didn’t find myself wishing they had another type of sauce. Theirs was just right. The brisket was not the«moist»(marbled, not-lean, fatty) brisket I greatly prefer, but I found myself eating the whole thing with the sauce, and really enjoyed it. So if you love lean brisket, I think you’ll like this stuff. If I lived around here I’d be back regularly!

I’m a fan. I’ve eaten their food a few times, all take out. I’ve had brisket and hot link sandwiches and every time the food has been very good. Also, I’m not sure about portion size comments from others, the sandwiches are large for the price. I think most of the sandwiches are $ 5 – 6 which is cheap compared to garbage like Quizno’s and Jimmy John’s. But where they excel is the breakfast burritos. I was told repeatedly that Santiago’s is the place for breakfast burritos in the Rock. I respectfully disagree as Old West kicks the snot of out Santiago’s. The burrito from Santiago’s is a wet slimy mess and Old West offers a bigger and better tasting burrito and with the salsa they make there it’s over the top.

This was the go-to place in Castle Rock for BBQ, but it’s slipped a lot. I got the rib lunch platter to go last week and when I got back to the office, the ribs were like eating beef jerky. Dried out, tough and not fresh. I called and left a message for the owner to call me back and he didn’t. I called again today and got his daughter who was argumentative. She wanted to know if I was the guy who came in and complained about the ribs. No, I wasn’t. So someone else thought the ribs sucked also. She made a point of telling me that he wasn’t going to replace my meal(I hadn’t asked). Guess I’m done with this place. Disappointed.
