They don’t really want you there if you brought your dog… Which is sad because Castle Rock has such nice trails and walking through town is very enjoyable any season of the year, but then if you want to stop in to this place which has plenty of outdoor seating, thinking you and your well behaved dog are doing the business a favor by stopping in, You’d be wrong. Instead you’d feel as though you were a nuisance because they’ll make sure you stay quarantined to the tiny dog area out by the street… and your slow service will become even slower… It made me feel unwelcomed and I probably won’t be back.

Wife worked here 2 days. Owner refused to let her make tips and then when it didn’t work out, refused to pay her or return her calls or emails. Good news is, there are lots of other choices in walking distance.

Service had a huge personality but was overwhelmed at times, but not their faults, since management didn’t understand that the weather was going to be A high of 55*. They need to spend sometime with the beautiful Kathy Sabines’. So, it’s the warmest day in weeks, and A delightful day for a Biergarten, right? So, I had their locally brewed cider. All the beers are local and if you look up, inside this place, you can see the ones they work with. Beer tabs on a high mantel is their art work. Or at least I thought it was a cool display. So A Cider and all beef dog for me. I really wished my bun was soft and warm so I could wrap it around my dog better. That’s how I like my hot dogs plain and charred. Dog could have been charred a bit more since it was grilled outside. I’m gonna guess that day that the owner was the cook. If I’m right, she should hire someone.

I really like the vibe of this place. You should note the bar is a standing bar and it’s a bit tight when you first walk in and have to get by it. The place is a little larger than it looks as there’s a room in the back with a few games and picnic table styled set up. I watched a bunch of kids go to town on some wind up cars. The veggie burger was really good. They had a great selection of CO beers. The patio set up is pretty neat and large as well. I imagine it’d be an ideal place to have a few beers on a summer night. The staff was really attentive and friendly. Overall a nice little joint.

Great place for some great brew! The food is exceptionally tasty and the service is always on point. This beer garden during the spring and summer reminds me of being in Germany seeing the patio full of patrons enjoying beer, food, and each other.

We came in, staff was super friendly. The place was packed with what seemed to be locals. Awesome selection of beers. Interesting selection of pub food with a German flare. Will definitely come back and try out the cool looking g beer Garten.

I go here to have a good craft beer. That’s what a «biergarten» is. They have the best selection of craft beers in castle rock. I don’t go for food, but it’s nice they have snacks available. I like hanging out on the patio in the summer, it’s very relaxed and very easy to strike up a conversation with other folks since the seating is community style picnic tables. All in all it’s a great place to just go and hang out, and have a good craft beer.

I hate writing mediocre reviews of places I started out super excited about, but my enchantment with this place has just degraded over time. The menu changed, which was a new chance to visit regularly, but we received what tasted like a freezer burned pretzel on the second visit after the menu change. Some of the pricing has gotten a bit whacky, charging $ 9 for pours on beers that aren’t rare or high ABV. I guess the best way to describe the cost structure is inconsistent. Service can be hit or miss, as can the selection of beers. The family friendly vibe went from being completely understandable to a bit frustrating at times. I have had to stop other people’s children from leaning over tables and spitting on the benches, as their guardians were too enthralled with the current score on the big game inside. The older kids look like coming to Maddie’s is their punishment for poor grades. This is by no means a dig on the many responsible parents that come by for a quick unwind, but rather the select few that set up shop for the night. I’ll continue to stop in from time to time and see if things have turned around, because the potential of this place is still there.

Oh where do I begin? I was so excited when this place came to town, but was quickly disappointed. 1.) This place is basically a daycare center with beer taps. There are always 20+ kids/toddlers when we go. Parents, do you really think your kids want to sit at a beer bar and watch you drink? 2.) They need to fire the person ordering beer because it seems they are willing put anything on tap from even sub-par breweries who sell beer that should have been dumped. Get someone in there that knows how to taste beer!!! 2a.) The prices are a tad high for the beers they are serving. 3.) The last straw for me was the last time my wife and I went in. My beer was fine, but the beer tender poured my wife a porter that looked like chocolate milk(yeasty). When I asked about it I was told they were moving the beer cooler around and that it would«settle out». Newsflash, yeast doesn’t settle out of a freshly poured pint, and you should have offered to replace the beer with something else instead of making excuses. We certainly won’t be back.

Normally, this place is phenomenal and it would earn 5 stars from me on atmosphere and beer selection. However, tonight(a Saturday) we were told they were not serving flights because earlier in the night«they were so slammed and needed to keep it simple for the rest of the night.» I’ve been here well over ten times and have never been told they don’t do flights because they are«busy»(they weren’t when we got there). It’s really crappy to change a menu choice biased on who is bartending. I will probably not be back again till they go back to the old standard of service. Oh and tonight we were served in plastic cups. If I’m at a real bar, I’d like my 6 $ beer in a glass. Not like we were playing beer pong…

Maddie’s is a great place for a cold beer and to meet friends. They don’t have a «kitchen» as such, but do have decent bar food that they bring in and warm up locally. It’s a fun place, near ‘downtown’ Castle Rock.

The husband says 2 stars, but since he agreed that we would visit again I bump up to 3. The atmosphere is very relaxed and they are family friendly. The beer selection was really solid. Staff was friendly, but obviously summer is when you can enjoy the beer garden outside(although they do have heat lamps out there). Where they fell was the food. First on their menu it lists ‘Maddie’s Chicken Nachos – $ 6′ and then underneath that is a note: ‘Add Chicken $ 4′ Might want to change that to not make it look like false advertising. We got the actual chicken nachos – everyone was saying they were awesome. After I spent most of the night from 3 am onward allowing my body to violently get the nachos back out of my body, they were not awesome. They came out on the cheap disposable plates that you get at the grocery store and everything was lukewarm at best. The salsa tasted like garlic. The queso was decent. The chicken was canned chicken and after spending the night in the bathroom watching Family Guy on my phone in between sick times, I can assure you the chicken was not cooked correctly. In fact writing this I am inching close to the bathroom again as the thought of those nachos is kicking my stomach in reverse. The place does let you bring in food from other restaurants, which I think we will do if and when we come back. The food here is not worth it. Just come here for the beer list and get food elsewhere.

The only good thing about this place is their beer selection. Don’t ever get food there. Not sure if they even know what hot food is. I have been there a couple of times and both times the food was cold. The service was also terrible. Unless you are a regular and know everyone there you will not get good service. We had to ask for service and some of the wait staff were listening to the band instead of helping customers. Then the waiter made us tip and pay before we even got our food. We had to also remind them to get our beers. Will I go there again? NO

Again 20 star salsa and guacamole and fresh(not normal restaurant cheap) chips w/the variety of beer on tap made for a perfect Tuesday eve ‘stop those never ending house projects’ and enjoy a sincere warm Sandy greeting w/50 star Savannah service.

It’s seems we showed up at the unfortunate hour of 1pm. As we walked up there was a very weird transaction happening between a shabby man and two women(carrying children) that had just exited the Biergarten. There was some yelling about money. The place was nearly empty so our beer order was immediately fulfilled. The tap list was adequate for Colorado. Then we order food. The Dr ordered the brat with beer cheese and I had the salmon sandwich. Then the wait began. We waited so long that the Apple watch sent off a notification to get up and move. We had just come from hiking Castlewood Canyon. Then food arrived and the brat was overlooked and dried out. The ‘beer cheese’ was not edible and the bun just fell apart. The Dr rarely complains but he had been so hungry he spoke up. They took the brat off our tab but that was a bit awkward due to the owner sitting at a high table facing me. My sandwich was ok. It was basically a salmon fillet on a ciabatta roll with lite dressing, arugula and side of coleslaw. We ended up sharing it. It wasn’t overcooked but was under seasoned. Two stars for the kid-friendly environment and beer.

I like the vibe at Maddie’s. It’s a comfortable place with plenty of beers on tap and even more in bottles. They also have wine if that’s your thing. The beers are constantly rotating with different seasonal selections. Most of the seating is outdoors on large picnic tables. Maddie’s is the kind of place where you can easily make new friends, and the process of meeting new people always becomes easier for me after I’ve had a couple of beers. Of course, if meeting new people isn’t your thing, there’s often enough room for you to move around and find an unoccupied spot inside or outside. When it’s crowded, it can be a little tougher for a big guy like me to get around without bumping into people, but what place isn’t? Check out Maddie’s if you’re looking to try a new beer of if you just want a nice place to hang out with your buddies and knock back a couple.

I can’t say enough how much I love this place! There’s a beer for everyone, friendly atmosphere, great bartenders and I personally enjoy the food. If you’re looking for a gourmet meal, don’t go to a biergarten! It’s amazing how many people complain about food at a place that specializes in quality beer. Oh and remember, you can bring your own food if you don’t like what they have to offer. Go for the beer, stay and make friends. Actually, after all this taking about it… I’m going there now!

We have been fans of Maddie’s since the day they opened. Really interesting selection of beer and love that it changes on what seems to be a daily basis! Since I can only handle one or two before I fill up — I’m happy they also have a decent selection of wine. They just started serving a full menu but we have never eaten there so I can’t review. Many of the items I have seen come out of the kitchen look good though. We love bringing our two goldens and sitting on the outside dog friendly area. I’m a bit disappointed they added a table there so now the smokers have some place to stay. That is a bit off putting for me. Their second anniversary celebration is August 15 — Maddiepalooza. Not to be missed!

Poor and slow service, ready made food and cold by the time you get it. The owners give preferential treatment to their friends. Total lack of inside seating music is load and not original. The Bar tender is great beer is good.

Maddies is mid way between Denver & Colorado Springs making it a great place for me to meet up with my friends from The Mile High. The atmosphere is low key, and the vibe is super positive. The small menu is small for a reason: you can bring in your own food! Because surprise! It’s a BEERGARDEN! And oh what a beautiful choice of beers there are to choose from. Serious stouts, gorgeous ales, ambers and pales… The bouquet you’ll create requires a designated driver. The staff is beyond friendly and didn’t even give me the evil eye when I told them I prefer to drink my beer like the redneck heathen I am– from the bottle. Oh, and they have a swell wine list & fountain drinks too…
