Came in 4 months ago and again on this past Tuesday. Alway like stopping here before the Walmart or Costco. I have save money on cleaning supplies and other odd and ends things needed. The Manager from 4 months ago was rude but the staff are nice and fix things with better customer service. That’s way I come back to restock on sons apt at this store. Great job to the staff!

Lots of random amazingness and hidden treasures! I like to stop in to see what kinds of odds n’ ends I can find for cheap.

It’s amazing how things are so different from store to store. Looking for a bean bag, they didn’t have any like the one on colonial. The associates are nowhere to be found. Clean store. Well stocked. Good prices.

Stopped in for some extras for my upcoming family Thanksgiving. Got some disposable aluminum pans — they normally run $ 3-$ 6 at Publix, snagged them for $ 2 per pair here. Great buy. They also have some cute fall dining and home décor(table cloths, wreaths, center pieces etc). The store’s very cluttered, though, and not all of their items are clearly priced.

Like many true«discount» stores, Big Lots is what you make it to be. If you love to shop but are truly on a budget, this store can be invaluable to you. It is the epitome of what it means to be a bargain hunter. Unlike cheap stores such as Dollar General or Family Dollar, Big Lots does not have their own brand of merchandise. They are a closeout store. Closeouts are name brand items that have been discontinued by their manufacturers. This could be because the company has changed the look or size of the packaging, slightly altered the recipe, discontinued the product because it wasn’t selling well enough, or the company itself went out of business. Needless to say, these are often high quality products that are perfectly fine to buy, but had to be removed from store shelves because they are no longer being produced. Big Lots buys these ‘lots’ of limited quantity items from the manufacturer and sells them at a much lower price. Sure, much of what you see can be perceived as junk that you don’t need, but you can also find some diamonds in the rough. This is especially true in the grocery aisles. For instance, I have found 8oz cans of Monster Expresso energy drinks selling for 0.50 cents a can, and 32oz Monster energy drinks selling for $ 1.50, which is much less than what a 16oz can normally costs. Big Lots has afforded me the opportunity to try fancier items that I might not normally buy due to their higher costs, such as ground organic milled flax($ 2.50 for 16oz), Gourmet Southern Pecan Honey BBQ Sauce from El Paso Texas($ 2.50 for a 12oz jar), Paula Deen– branded items, Colgate prescription-strength toothpaste for $ 2.30, and the list goes on and on. So essentially, Big Lots is a great place to stock up on certain grocery, cleaning supplies, and personal care items BEFORE you go to your regular grocery store. It’s obviously hit or miss since everything is final quantities and they’re constantly getting new items in, but you can definitely score some fantastic deals if you are a persistent bargain hunter who loves the thrill of the chase.
