I may plan a vacation next year based on getting my family close enough to this place that we can get some frozen custard every night… We spent the day on the Maine coast and decided to look for some ice cream on the way back to our cabin in New Hampshire. I do not have the vocabulary to express how good this stuff is. The special flavor of the night was Blueberry Pie, which they told us had just been made. We took the medium size(plenty big) in the waffle cone. It was so rich, perfectly sweet, and had the most delightful creamy texture. I may hop back in the car when I’m done typing this to drive the hour back to Maine to get another serving. The only drawback is that I think I am now an ice cream snob. We passed several other ice cream joints on our way home, all of which were very crowded in touristy areas(Naples, Fryeburg). I honestly felt bad for the people waiting in line at each one and felt the need to tell them about Raymond’s to save them from the ordeal of mediocre ice cream. Oh well — more for us!

I’m from the area, but moved a little too far away a few years ago. I beg to stop here every time we go camping. I have had a few other frozen custards before, but this is unbeatable. It’s rich, smooth, and creamy. Just outside of the craziness of the Causeway, but worth the 2 min drive if you’re in town.
