The food and service was good but please book another band. While we were eating a band came on that was just terrible. They were called Stage… something can’t remember. The older guitar player started walking around the tables while playing, his butt was hanging out not something you want to see while you are eating. You could literally see his entire butt crack. They also had some people with them trying to fix an instrument on one of the tables next to us which was very unprofessional. The only saving grace was the younger guitar player’s solos. We stayed just long enough to finish up our beer and took off.

The food was decent but nothing special. Good variety of local beers on tap. They seriously need to rethink the«entertainment» they host at this place. Whatever garbage local band they had playing was absolutely atrocious(Left Stage or somesuch), how these people actually got the owners of the Corner to pay them to play is beyond me. It was a train wreck from the very beginning, not to mention that one of the guitar players(the older one) had his disgusting butt crack hanging out of his pants. I literally watched people wince and cringe every time that gentleman started to play. The younger folks in this group were pretty good but they need to get rid of that older guy, his guitar playing was quite literally running people straight out of the bar. I won’t be coming back as long as those jokers are playing their«music». Please re-evaluate your choice of entertainment because whatever village those people came from is missing their idiots.

Swayed by a soon to expire LivingSocial, I popped into the Corner Tavern & Grill for an early dinner. Inside it’s bare-bones with a small side-room bar. A gaggle of regulars are at the bar enjoying an early evening beer. The menu is your basic mix of burgers, sandwiches, apps along with some Moroccan food. I do some sliders which are nicely grilled and some ok cheesy fries, but I’ll be honest with you that I’m not sure if the calories were worth it. There aren’t a ton of details for my review because Corner Tavern & Grill is probably a place I wouldn’t come back to again. Not because it’s bad but because it’s your typical neighborhood bar and grill and I don’t live in the hood. The location is pretty deep in Cary so I can’t see myself going out of the way to stop in here again. And service was a bit distracted and not so professional during my visit. So I wish em luck, enjoy em if you live in the hood…

First visit was great. Owner prepared his award winning signature burger. Everything was great. Second visit was a disaster. 35 mins to get 3 burger on table during lunch time with only 2 tables. On top of it, they brought the wrong order and fully charged for it!!! Tonight was the third and last visit. Cold burgers and onion rings did it. Smoking at the next table did not help. Were wish the owner much success. Will not be back.

I needed to grab a quick bite in the middle of running errands and was not expecting to be as impressed with the Corner Tavern as I was. The space is clean and organized and divided well between the bar and general seating depending on which feel you prefer. I ordered a coffee and a water and the staff was relaxed but incredibly professional. When I asked for a recommendation the menu knowledge was apparent and appreciated. My server, Kimberly, checked on me as often as was needed but was not overly attentive. Perfect. She recommended the off the menu burger that the restaurant had recently won awards with, The Corner Burger, which was a medley of several existing burgers on the menu. It was delicious and did not have the disjointed flavored I often associate with a restaurant trying to find a niche in «something different.» The burger was cooked a perfect medium with sliced avocados atop melted pepper jack cheese and Morroccan spices before homemade cilantro aioli was drizzled over it, topped with a caramelized pineapple. I was honestly impressed with how elegantly they plated the burger and pasta salad. The point here being that this little unassuming restaurant really impressed me by offering a very affordable meal that was thoughtfully designed but wasn’t trying to hard. I love finding places where the value is put into making quality food and a pleasant, simple, clean atmosphere. I’m looking forward to returning with friends!

We decided to go back soon after our first visit on Halloween. We were not disappointed. My husband ordered the award winning Corner Burger,(not on the menu), but ask for it and I ordered the Southwestern wrap with no meat and they were both fantastic!(My husband’s only complaint was that the bun fell apart) We sat at one of the tables in the bar and received attentive service. We noticed when we left the restaurant all the tables were full. Keep it up!

This place is THEWORST! I understand that it is neighborhood bar, but that doesn’t mean that their food and service has to be as bad as it was. OMG, why did it take thirty minutes to get the drink that I ordered. I ordered a simple«Old Fashion» and the bar completely screwed that up. How can a bar not have bitters and simple syrup? When the drink came to me, I could tell by the color that it was completely wrong. The freakin’ drink was light in color and had bubbles in it. These idiots put club soda and bourbon in a glass and garnished with orange and a cherry. And they charged me $ 10 for that. Of course, sent that back. Ridiculous. How do you screw up one of the most basic of drinks? The bar was not even that busy. .. I mean really. On to the food. Chicken tenders, how does it take almost an hour to get chicken tenders. I could raise the chickens, slaughtered them and prepare the chicken tenders in the time that it took them to get the tenders to me. The salad that my wife got had a hand full of greens, artichokes, olives and feta cheese. And they charged freakin’ $ 10 for a very small salad. Are you serious? Ridiculous! You guys are ridiculous. The service, was really slow as well. And, they left that horrible drink on my check. Needless to say, I will never be back to this place! This was the worst dining experience that I have had while in North Carolina! They may have won a burger award, but this place is not worth a visit.

We purchased a Living Social deal after reading the reviews on Unilocal and am glad we gave it a try. The staff is friendly, welcoming, and attentive. The bar area is sectioned off with a high open wall and the lights appear to be lower in that area. The regular dining area has high and low tables and booths. It was decorated real cute for Halloween too! There’s plenty to choose from on the menu from appetizers, soups, salads, sandwiches, wraps, and entrees. I was torn between the Moroccan burger(Finely chopped onions and cilantro mixed into the burger patty. Topped with house-made Moroccan tomato sauce.) and the Hawaiian(Bacon, caramelized pineapples, and grilled jalapeños). I opted for the Hawaiian burger with a side of onion rings. I asked for the burger medium rare and it was! The flame grill flavor with the grilled pineapple was really good and the jalapenos give it a bite every now and then. I asked for some bbq sauce on the side, but should have really asked for some teriyaki instead. That would have really taken it over the top! It comes on a kaiser roll and it was so huge I had to cut it in half to eat it. The onion rings are beer battered, not too thick, and crispy — yum! It was nice to find a new place with good food and a pleasant atmosphere. They also have live music on the weekends later in the evening. We hope to be back again soon.

This, along with the Train Station, are the only two restaurants/establishments I’ve found in Cary that thank you baby Jebus or whoever you pray to, don’t «act» like Cary. What really solidified this for me was when on my most recent visit, every single patron at the bar(myself included) who straddled various socioeconomic, racial, and age divisions all drank tallboys of PBR, even when craft beers are readily available. Walking in, I was transported back to an ALMOST dive-esque atmosphere that I came to adore about places in Milwaukee and Chicago(in full disclosure, how ‘divey’ can Cary actually get?). Picture this: the regulars sit at the bar, and the barkeep has their drinks ready upon entering. It’s a place that if you roll up in an automobile that EVERYONE knows you paid too much for/or are just showing off, people quietly snicker, and if you come in with an overly exuberant group of people who act half or less of their age when it’s not live music time, people quietly roll their eyes. Location: 4 out of 5 10 minute drive away, and eponymously, in the corner next to TIme Warner. Parking is free and plentiful, though when TIme Warner is still open to attend to «customer service», the parking lot will be full of angry people. Ambiance: 4 out of 5 YES! No pretense to a point where I immediately remember what it looks and feels like. Most places in the area are forgettable and familiar at the same time — this place happens to be familiar and almost nostalgic for me. To each his/her own though. In the few times I’ve been, I sit at the bar and people watch/listen/talk to other patrons. Service: 4 out of 5 There’s no kow-towing to families or groups who have long depended on their above median income to obtain some social status. You come in Corner Tavern, and everyone gets treated the same, which is a baseline skepticism. Yes, that’s right — new comers are treated with almost a brusque and cold attitude until you can show with some cogent degree of modicum that you are not a d-bag or a s-bag. The service is maybe sluggish by Cary standards for certain parts of the day when they only have 2 people working(one at the bar, one attending to all the tables). I’ve never had a problem with receiving prompt service, and halfway into my second visit, the barkeep and I warmed up to one another. I DO know who the reference is to the older lady that seems slow — she’s hilarious at times because while she’s probably past 45 years in age, she still wears tank tops that say«Group Therapy» with bottles of wines and/or cocktails. And yes, she can be brusque but she really is nice. Food: 3 out of 5 I’m glad that the Corner Tavern doesn’t serve«foodie» food, because then I don’t have to deal with the masses of dum dums that come in and say, «Oooooh, this gastrique was so delightful, it was like eating baby unicorn fetus.» Nope. Burgers, sandwiches, salads, and a few Mediterranean influenced items. My favorite thus far has been the burger with cilantro and onion mixed in, made as a cheeseburger(instead of Med. style). I also had the grilled cheese with bacon/avocado and lamb gyro. The former was akin to what you’d find at Panera, and the latter what you’d find in any of the takeout places in Greektown(Chicago). Neither wowed me and again, I don’t think they’re intended to, but I wouldn’t hesitate to order either of them again in the future. Pricing: 5 out of 5 They seem to constantly participate in promotions, so the cost breakdown for me is quite fair. Overall: 4 out of 5

Walked in at 6pm on a Friday evening and there was almost no one in the dining room, that was the first concern. By 7 or so when we left there were a few more tables seated. Maybe this place caters to the 9pm crowd. This is not the place to come for fresh made food, sides and sauces. There might be some exceptions, but everything we experienced was frozen or from a jar/can. The chicken tenders were rubbery with no flavor(medium sauce), the fries came from the freezer, coleslaw was bland, the ranch came from a jar, the roast beef sandwich needed way more meat for the size bun it was served on, the hamburger patty was bland and very processed looking, the fruit cup was the fruit cocktail you get from a can at the grocery store. Frankly, I’d be embarrassed to serve this food. Maybe their Moroccan food is better. The look and feel restaurant of the restaurant is lacking, with no identity. There was no audible music in the dining room leading to an eerie silence while we were talking to be seated. A wall sconce bad a blown bulb, but maybe that just occurred. My booth bench had a loose spring or something causing a huge hump that wasn’t comfortable to sit on. On the plus side, they had some craft beer including a special and our waitress was very friendly and attentive. If you want to watch the game, drink a few beers and don’t mind paying restaurant prices for processed food, this might be a fine place. I expect more with«Grill» in the name, otherwise just leave it at «Tavern».

The sign out front says«$ 6.99 Lunch Special» so I ask the waitress what the lunch special was. She looked at me kinda puzzled and went away to check. She came back and said it was the Turkey Reuben(with homemade potato chips). My friend and I are reuben connoisseurs. We have eaten them all over town so we were excited to try one. First clue(of badness) — WHITE bread !! I have NEVER been served a reuben on white bread. NEVER !! If you don’t have Rye bread then don’t make the Reuben the lunch special. Inside the bread was turkey and cole slaw? there may have been a smidgen of cheese. There was a non identifiable black glaze. NO kraut. That’s it ! We should of immediately sent them back upon view of the white bread. BADBADBAD !! Homemade chips were unseasoned and certainly not piping hot. BADBADBAD !! Make the menu smaller. Do a few things really well. The location is good. The food is not.

We met some friends here for dinner one Thursday night and found the place to be not too crowded. Our group of 7 was seated almost immediately. The restaurant itself is kind of hidden away in the corner of a Kroger shopping center so you wouldn’t really notice it if you’re driving by. We were deliberately looking for it and still had to turn back because we’d passed it. I order the Avocado burger, medium, with onion rings. The burger was over cooked, more well done than medium, and the onion rings were nothing more than a thin dried onion ring with a deep fried batter that came out more like a chip. It was also overly salty that I could barely eat it. Overall the food was mediocre at best. The real kicker here though that warranted the one star rating was the service. Our waitress was an older woman who barely came by to check on us. Like I had said earlier, it wasn’t busy so there was no reason why she shouldn’t have been on her game. Whenever she did come by though, she was not polite at all. All our questions were answered with short clipped responses and she had an excuse for everything. Definitely won’t be back here.

Good sized portions and a nice variety of items in the menu. I had the kabob plate– one was chicken which was good pieces and herby but could have used a little salt. The second kabob was kofta which was tasty. It came with a pretty Greek salad with feta, olives and artichoke hearts. Hubby got the vegetsble plate with grilled eggplant and tomotoes. We expected it to be whole and it was chopped up but tasty. Also came with a Greek salad and hummus which was good. Daughter got buffalo chicken tenders, fries and fried pickles. The tenders were OK but the sauce had a weird aftertaste to me. Pickles were tasty and crispy. Overall it was good and I’d probably go back.

I had been here when it had different owners so when I saw the Living Social deal, I quickly purchased and was eager to try it with the new ownership. I had the Buffalo chicken sandwich and it was great! One of the best I’ve had in Cary. The chicken tenders were hand breaded and tasty. My companion had the lamb gyro with Taziki sauce and he said it was amazing. I recommend the house made chips as a side. Very flavorful. They have a great selection of local craft brews and a decent slate of alcohol specials. We will definitely be back. I gave four stars instead of five because the atmosphere is a little lacking… but they could really do a lot with the huge patio they have out back!

Great find! Service was very friendly and helpful, great rotating beer selection with daily drink specials, excellent menu choices. I really like the fusion of American and Moroccan. We split the Moroccan kefta meat balls for an appetizer; wow, very delicious, well seasoned and a good-sized portion. These were gone rather quickly :). She had the pulled pork plate and enjoyed every bite. I had the Mediterranean veggie plate, and the seasoned eggplant was among the best preparations of eggplant I’ve had. Check this place out!

I was really impressed with this spot. Great food and a large menu selection to choose from. Very nice management. Drink specials are awesome. Back patio seating area is great too, especially when there is a band performing.
