Such a fun event and great opportunity to try different foods/drinks. Ended up raining but still was the highlight of my weekend!

This was my first time going to Taste of the Triangle and definitely won’t be my last! Josh and I arrived to Wake Med Soccer Park right around 5PM just near the beginning of the event. Despite what looked like a long line, we made it in to the event quickly and were overwhelmed with the number of choices for free samples! We hit the White Street Brewing truck first and were pleasantly surprised to find they were pouring full 12-oz beers. I tried the kolsch and found it very refreshing on this hot summer day! After grabbing our beers, we started walking around to try some of the food. The options were plentiful and we were too full to even try half of the tents, but I really appreciated the chance to try out some new local(mostly Cary) spots. I will say I was surprised by the number of chains at the event, but it’s hard to complain about Bojangle’s sweet tea or a philly cheesesteak from Jersey Mike’s. Some of our other stand-out favorites were the barbeque chicken legs from Larry’s Southern Kitchen, the chicken salad sandwich and the reuben from Dorry’s Downtown Deli, Lumpy’s ice-cream, the white chocolate baguette from La Farm Bakery and the beef and potato empanadas from Latin Quarters. I do wish I had been able to try the crepes from Coffee and Crepes before they ran out, but I look forward to going there with the coupon they give me for a free dessert crêpe! All-in-all this was a great event and I believe it to be well-worth the cost of the $ 15 admission!
