My family and I were traveling through Carthage and planned on stopping there for lunch. It certainly lived up to our expectations! The service was prompt and caring. The food was delicious (we had reubens and burgers) and the dessert (chocolate cake) was to die for. Thank you for the great pit stop!

I’m guessing the Texas Tea Room changed owners because the last couple times my family and I ordered dinner it was horrible we use to enjoy eating here the quality has dropped off tremendously. The reuben I got was forgettable at best corn beef looked an odd color and had some kind of mayo on it. Mayo really??? I felt like I was playing a game of Russian roulette eating this thing. This was our second bad experience so there will be no strike three.

Stopped by the Tea Room after a long week and I was very hungry. The manager Diane, was extremely friendly and fixed me a to go order that included one of the best cheeseburgers I have ever had. She also set me up with a slice of LM’s Buttermilk Pie. Everything was perfect and I couldn’t have asked for a better meal on the go. I will definitely be back to try out some of the other entrees when I am in town.

Fabulous food and friendly service! My favorite is the BLT and Brie with the cranberry salad for lunch, but the fish tacos and steak medallions are wonderful too! If you manage to save room for dessert you cannot go wrong with any choice you make. It is definitely the best food in town!

This place was a 4.5 star experience. No halves means this place gets a «5». I had the «Black and Blue Steak» complete with sweet potatoes and blistered green beans. The beef was excellent, and the sides were perfect accompaniment. At the recommedation of other Unilocalers, I tried the crab cake. Best. Decision. Ever. The sauce with the cake was what sealed the deal. My only gripe was that the crab cake was a bit dense and could use some rabbit food mixed in to freshen it up. Chef Lauren knocked it out of the park, and my only regret is that I did not leave room for an amazing dessert. Next time.

Growing up in the south you build cravings for a multitude of comfort foods! Chicken and dumplings, chicken salad sandwich, stewed okra, etc. I live in Houston now, but stop in the Tea Room every time I am driving to Shreveport to visit family. The atmosphere, the service and of of course the southern comfort food always hits the spot! The black and blue burger is to die for or the crab cakes are the perfect amount of spice and creaminess. They also have fresh made desserts every day! Precious establishment! A must stop when passing thru!
