El pescador has pretty decent Mexican food. It’s like Acapulco or El Torito except more genuine and affordable. I usually come for a few special occasions. My favorite thing to get is the domination plate, which comes with rice and beans and your choice of two or three items on a list. They also have a variety of all types of food; seafood, beef, pork, chicken, salads, soups, appetizers, everything. Their drink menu is also fairly extensive with a variety of alcoholic beverages available. On specially nights(weekends) they have entertainment. Mariachis come and play music for a few hours which my mom loves haha. Pretty cool Mexican food spot if you ask me

Once again an Mexican restaurant stuck in the 80’s! Restaurant is terribly dated and needs a complete remodel. Disappointing food with everything from poorly salted tortilla chips to tasteless guacamole. Margaritas served with lemons and not limes was a real shocker! Waitstaff seemed attentive enough but could have been more visible. 25 years ago this restaurant was probably the place to go with architectural embellishments including beautiful onyx mirrors and sinks in the bathrooms! Restaurant would be a perfect candidate for the remodeling shows! Very disappointing to say the least.

Horrible service! The waiter had a bigger attitude then a women on her you know what. He didn’t bother to check on us, didn’t serve any chips & salsa we had to ask for some and on top of that the food sucked! The oysters were not completely clean and scrawny.

Ok well first off since I have a child my first priority was to get him a high chair I asked three times and at the end they were all occupied at the same time i saw a family who arrived maybe 30 min after us get theirs. My husband had to get up himself a look for one. I ordered the mojarra en mojo de ajo and as I expected no garlic at all! I would have asked for a return but it took awhile for my simple over fried fish to be cooked. My husband got sick quick from his coctail de camaron and oyster, but i dont think it was food poisoning. As I tried to enjoy what was left from my fish the waiter kept coming back asking if I needed a to go box after the third time I said yes and left the box on the table. Who likes being rushed especially after 45 min of sitting and waiting for my food with my child waiting for a chair. I thought maybe it would get better, but the service was pretty unsatisfactory today of all days. Drove 40 min from Santa Ana waited another hr to be seated for that!?! My Word! Update… spent all night either puking or pooping everything out. So possible food poisoning…

I’m not sure why this place has a 2 ½ star rating because it is on and popping! Food is good! Music is good! Service is good! I’m glad I didn’t let the rating scare me away! I’m definitely coming back! Love it!!!

My cousin and I decided to try this place out for a Michelada after class. And overall it was not a good experience as the staff(expect the person who sat us down) was rude! To start off, when we arrived around 8ish, nobody acknowledged us to take our order, I had to call someone. Not to mention, after they brought us our first drinks our waiter never came back to check if we were doing okay or if we wanted to order anything else.(We were thinking about ordering an appetizer or something small) But at that point the service made me want to leave and not order anything else. Despite the service, the place was sort of dirty, sticky floor and not to mention the ladies room yuck! Nevertheless will not be coming back, well at least not to this location.

I’ll start with positives: HAPPYHOUR!!! Need I say more?! Happy hour drinks for $ 5– mixed cocktails, martinis, margaritas. The drinks are really good! 5 stars for the adult beverages. My mango Margarita was on hit! The food, not so stellar. I ordered the shrimp enchilada. It was mediocre, and for $ 14.95, it just wasn’t worth it. The enchiladas were a bit small. I’ve had way better, seasoned shrimp enchiladas. I’m a HUGE fan of Mexican food, so I know«bomb» enchiladas when I taste it… «This. Wasn’t. It.» I’ll give the restaurant itself a 4.5 stars. Very spacious and I can see it being jammed packed when games are shown on the screens in the bar area. Oh and big-ups to the owner: As I looked on the wall with all of the jerseys, I noticed they had a Long Beach Poly jersey posted with NBA, NFL, NHL jerseys. Right on! As a proud graduate of L.B. Poly it brought a smile to my face and of course a lot of bragging and trash talking as I talked with my colleagues about how great my high school is in sports and academics(but, anyone and everyone already knows that Poly is thee best high school in the nation)…I know, this review is supposed to be about the restaurant/food lol. I’ll give the restaurant another try. Definitely for the happy hour!

The quality of the food was fair. The salsa was very thin and hard to scoop. The drinks faired a little better but on the expensive side. I give this place the rating I did because their menu pictures are not want you get. I order an appetizer platter which on the menu showed a bowl of guacamole. When the platter came to us it was two table spoons of guacamole and not a bowl. Also, the food did not look like the pictures on the menu. I asked the waitress about it and she told me that you don’t get what’s on the picture, that it was changed. That’s poor customer service. Then change your menu. The staff were nice, so I give this place two stars and not one.

Everything was fine until I found a piece of GLASS in my mouth. I told the waitress and she said«Oh hold on, let me go tell them». Then she comes back and says«They discounted your drink.» The manager never came out to apologize. The waitress herself never apologized. All I got was a discounted drink so I ended up paying over $ 60 for a dangerous meal. They didn’t make me feel like I mattered or treated it like a serious issue. If the glass was in my daughters drink it would have been a whole different story. But I didn’t want to make a big deal so we just left. I abhor bad customer service. They definitely lost my family’s business.

Had lunch here per recommendation from some of my hotel front desk staff. The food was pretty good. I ordered one carne asada taco and one chicken taco for $ 13. The meal comes with rice and refried beans. I also had a virgin mango margarita, which was just okay. The flavor was okay but the texture was more of a smoothie consistency instead of a margarita, but whatever. Okay meal, decent service. Nothing over the top about this place, but not bad.

Came here late one evening for dinner and drinks with a few of my friends. Lets start with the location is in a weird spot. If you don’t pay attention then you have loop around find an opening into the complex. Parking is ample in the strip mall. When you walk in, there is a bar and club like atmosphere on the right side and restaurant on the left side. They had a DJ awkwardly place in the front walk up. The food was decent and the drinks were decent as well. The table ordered 7 mares soup and various raw seafood dishes. As for drinks ranged from horchata to margaritas. The devil sauce was spicy as heck but on point. Now the major problem with this place — the bouncers. If you see someone fall in front of you. You help them up… im talking to you big Hispanic bouncer. Who taught you any manners. guess when your aunt or mom slips we should just leave them on the floor. you are a classless act son. Then as we were finishing up our food. Another bouncer(black or African-American depend on how the individual likes to be called) told us to hurry up and get out cause they are closed. He didn’t take the time to see we were waiting for the wait staff to drop off our to go boxes and check. So we just waited around for the check. then he comes up again and just stands there trying intimidate. what a pompous fool. we got our check, paid and left. El Pescador, you guys are lucky that lady didn’t get injured on your wet floor, compassion goes a long way, Mr. Bouncer. Won’t be coming back here, get rid of those wannabe thugs i mean bouncers

After my coworkers and I tried calling a million times from different lines to place a phone order we finally got an answer and the woman who answered asked if she can place us on hold. We said yes. We got tired of waiting after 15 min. I decided to just keep the line on and see how long it would take or for them to even notice there was still a call waiting. Apparently they never noticed. Never been to this Pescador and don’t plan on ever trying to order from here again. Horrible service. You guys suck!

Walked in and there is a club-like environment on the right side and the left side was geared towards the restaurant sit down portion of the venue. I was able to be seated right away and ordered my food. It took a little while for the drinks and appetizer of guacamole dip on the side to come but no worries. I ordered an all meet type of food medley and my date ordered one chicken taco, one shrimp taco, and ceviche. She thought it was all right and I thought my food was all right as well. Nothing to get excited about. The two margaritas we ordered were pretty solid but again nothing spectacular. OK food and OK service but nothing to rant and rave about.

One of the worst dining experiences EVER. It happened to be Karaōke Night in bar, and although I didn’t go there to sing, I often participate at Karaōke bars and have no problem with them… until now. The KJ had volume WAY too loud and the sound blasted into dining room, mixing with the piped in Mexican music. It was noisy and unsettling, one could barely hear themselves talk while eating. It went from bad to worse. Had to ask for chips and salsa THREE times before waitress brought them. Usually chips & salsa is automatic at Mexican restaurants. When it finally arrived, the chips were AWFUL… stale and full of old oil. The salsa was also WORSTEVER… watered down and tasteless. For my entrée I ordered Fajitas and they were terrible. Chicken and beef were both dried out and shrimp smelled very fishy. I asked for corn tortillas and got flour. Also, when ordering Fajitas, it usually comes with a bit of sour cream and guacamole on the side… not at this restaurant. Such a request costs extra. Huh? An overall cluster f**k, and I will never go to El Pescador again.

Finally had time to try this place out. It was about 5:30pm on a Saturday, making it early enough to be seated right away. Our server, Araceli, was the best! She greeted us at our table along with chops and salsa. She even took time to point out the popular dishes since it was our first time, and frequently came over to inquire how we were doing. We ordered the Shrimp Cocktail, Ceviche de Pescado, and the Camarones al Pescador. The Shrimp Cocktail and Ceviche de Peacado were awesome and highly recommend! The Camarones al Pescador was alright, and would probably order something else next time we visit. Overall the restaurant had a nice ambiance and was clean with a cool bar area that a good amount of people were watching a football game. Will definitely return to try more food, and to have the Shrimp Cocktail and Ceviche de Pescado.

I feel like a I have a love hate relationship with this place. Been here a handful of times and have a different experience every time. This last time, had a wonderful experience. Food was excellent. Before then, they gave me a FROZEN chile relleno!!! Double-U-Tee-Eff. $ 5.00 happy hour margaritas, are on point though. Will come back unless they keep giving me frozen food, until then. mango margaritas. Fo. Sho.

I don’t always listen to mariachi bands, but when I do; I come her in El Pescador Bar and Grill. Coming here is like a fiesta in my tummy. It is not very often when Mexican restaurant with a full bar that serves the right kinds of drinks. With a wide collections of cervesa’s, you will be sure to say«quiro mas!!!». I have only been here during lunch hour and have successfully avoided the long line during weekends and dinner rush. Despite the fact that they offer many mixed cocktails, Mechilada(Modelo especial) is often what I yearn for. This cocktail is an acquired taste but, not a bad idea to give it a try in this place, especially they make it so well. This place has a great selection of lunch special, starting around $ 7.99& +. I ordered the Chili Colorado and the portion is very substantial. The beans here are great, the beef is soft and tender and the guacamole compliments the dish nicely. They also offer great seafood selections in their appetizer menus such as, nachos, shrimp cocktails and oysters(vert fresh). They are very generous in filling up your salsa bowl and chips; so don’t be shy to ask for more. Servers are always friendly, if you are overwhelmed with the menu. They are more than happy to make a suggestion. You can catch the mariachi band playing during the weekends and some days during lunch hours. This place is very clean, family friendly and offers friendly services.
