It’s too bad because we just moved to the area and they seriously lost a customer for life. We ordered take out and I clearly stated what I wanted– waffle combo, pancakes and coffee. I also repeated the order and had to ask for the total. My husband went to pick up the order and there were two containers in the bag so he trusted that the order was correct. I called him to make sure he got cream and he had just got in the car and said «they didn’t give me the coffee.» He went inside got the coffee we ordered and cream. When he got home, we opened the bag to see — NO PANCAKES! We were distraught as you can imagine, leaving your house in AM for breakfast take out and your order is missing! So upsetting. So I tried to call the restaurant and kept on getting a busy line– where’s my pancakes and no one’s answering! I keep calling and decide to just go to the restaurant since they are holding my pancakes hostage. I get there and the girl tells me she didn’t write down the pancake order— WHAAA! After I repeated it and asked for total!!! Hello!!! So for the inconvenience since it was clearly her fault they are now asking me to pay for the pancakes even though we just drove to the restaurant TWICE!!! For a mistake you made! No sir! I spoke to the manager who was not sympathetic or understanding at all! I walked out and will never walk in again. Plus the food we did receive was just mediocre so if I ever have a hunger craving, I’ll be going elsewhere.

Great and friendly service. Neighborhood diner that has great bkfst and the small homey feel you expect from an established diner. Always love showing up here and always get that great smile from all the servers.

Gets 5 starts and is as described. Lots of bang for the buck. If you want basic breakfasts and lunches, this place rocks.
I was there for breakfast. Lots of quick order breakfast items. My order was the breakfast special: 3 eggs (poached were perfect), 3 strips bacon, toast and hash browns. I ordered the bacon extra crisp and they turned out right. Coffee was always topped up almost to excess. For a quick order breakfast, this place gets it done.
Servers were all super friendly. One server speaks more Spanish than English, but even with our language challenge all was right and tended to.
I was told they’ve been there for more than 40 years. Started by one brother then sold out to the other who runs it now.
I’m just happy nothing was overly greasy or buttered. Things turned out just right.

I am giving this place 5 stars for an odd reason. Nothing against the food, which was great, or the service, which was friendly and prompt, but namely for the environment — rather, the clientele. The chatter and friendliness of the locals who frequent this place makes it obvious that this is a watering hole for the area. A place where people of every walk of life come. The crown jewel being this tiny Latina girl, maybe four years old, who would make her rounds from table to table smiling and being super adorable. It was obvious to me that she is regular with her own diner family here. Her confidence and friendless with strangers tells me she is well loved by her family and by the clientele here, and it’s easy to see why. This entire experience was the kind that gives you a warm feeling inside, and not just from your breakfast. Very glad I came to this diner.

Cash Only. Besides that, good food, not great. Home kitchen style of cooking. Nothing fancy. Quick in and out. Can’t say nothing bad about the place. Is just a small ordinary dinner.

Slow, slow, slow. We went for lunch. Took drink orders, but did not bring drinks for a while. Then we ordered our food and waited 35 minutes before getting anything, including the salad that came with my sandwich. They were not really busy, and it just does not take 35 minutes for a club sandwich with salad.
The club sandwich was OK, kinda small and pathetic looking. I have had much better club sandwiches at Fantastic Burger and Louis Burger.
Apparently the Cheeseburger was good (I did not taste it), but I won’t be coming back to this place based on the slooooow service.

I’ve been to some dissatisfying restaurants and Dandy Lion is NOT one of them. As I sit in my car and continue this ecstasy feeling of what I can only describe as food coma I can’t help but wonder how home style this place is.
I had the Marinated Steak with eggs and it was beyond good as well as recommended by the waitress who knew every time my coffee was running low. Quick with the pour and helpful with the menu she knew the regulars names who were scattered across the restaurant complimenting the old school type of service found no where else.
DEFINITELY VISIT THIS PLACE AND TRY IT OUT!!! I’m going back for the Chorizo Omlett. Oh and CASH only.

I love this place! The atmosphere was very welcoming. All the staff in this place are great and very friendly. The food was excellent! I will be a regular there!
