Tahoe Dive Center

What a great dive center. They have anything you could need or want to complete your dive kit. Chuck was very friendly. His excellent dive site briefing ensured we had a low stress enjoyable dive. He described so many landmarks that I knew exactly where I was throughout the dive. You can’t go wrong with this shop.

At last, Chuck has told the truth. He fired two customers. Rather than willingly complete the fully paid training. He ran us off. He’s still got our money. Happy Chuck.
He did NOT tell us at any time prior to the first day of training that a doctor’s exam was required. He is a liar. His oversight cost us an entire year in obtaining our training. His repetitive memory failures made our training in 2015 quite an exercise in patience.
I did NOT come in with a hostile attitude in August as he claims. I came in to schedule the completion of my grandson’s and lady friend’s traiming, as he and I had discussed before our two week vacation. I NEVER demanded anything. Every alternative that I suggested, Chuck simply gave a reason why it couldn’t be done. I finally realized Chuck was unwilling to meet his obligations and so I said «I give up», and walked out. Yes, I was also frustrated and fed up by his persistent rude and dismissive behavior. Chuck simply lies to cover his unprofessional business practices.
I have since learned that Chuck’s business practices are locally well known. I didn’t check Unilocal or other reviews prior to signing up. My bad. His earlier reviews (prior to changing locations) would have warned me off.
These reviews exist to serve as fair warning. I strongly recommend going anywhere else but here. He gets the business he does by being the only local shop. Maybe that will change someday.

Dove today on our honeymoon with Norm. Awesome experience! Norm was a wonderful guide and a great person to dive with! Chuck, who owns the shop, was amazingly helpful over emails to get this trip set up and was wonderful in the store to get our rentals situated! I absolutely recommend Tahoe Diving Center and diving with them at Lake Tahoe!

I went in for 3 snorkels and scuba masks. Came out half an hour later with everything I needed. The employee manning the shop was excellent (forgot his name), very friendly, and made sure we got everything we needed.
I came back an hour later because I needed another scuba mask and snorkel, and though the shop was packed, the same employee got me out in less than 15 minutes.
Would highly recommend for anyone looking for scuba equipment. The shop was clean and organized. Closest dive shop to the lake.
