Interstate Batteries of the Sierras

I can’t say enough about this place. It’s an industrial warehouse in the desert outside Carson City, with pickup trucks and forklifts parked outside, and it was with a certain amount of social apprehension that I sashayed in as an effete New Yorker looking to buy a battery for the annual «Burning Man» festival of douchebags. But Gary and his team could not have been nicer. We spent an extremely pleasant hour discussing Donald Trump and deep-​cycle discharge rates before I staggered out with a yellow-​top Optima that would have cost me double elsewhere, and they greeted me like an old friend when I staggered back in with it a few minutes later and announced that I wanted a different one. Great people, great atmosphere, great prices. An absolute pleasure from start to finish.
