Went to John Casablancas today for a second audition with Jennifer. The mood started out fairly pleasant but as soon as I let her know that I did not have the entire amount for the registration fee, she proceeded to rip up the questionnaire they had me fill out in my face and then without a moments hesitation following stuck her hand out to give me a shake goodbye. I tried to inquire about coming back once I had come up with all the finances necessary and was replied to in a very dismissive, sarcastic tone that implied don’t bother. Way to shut out an opportunity for a client later down the road. Least of all she could have pretended to be nice and civil for the sake of her businesses reputation but it was made very clear that every one that walks in there is just another number. Just plain tacky if you ask me.

I went to interview with this so-called«modeling agency» but they are far from that. The interview was semi-okay but I got horrible looks from the manager named Greg who seemed to be more focused on when I was going to pay my fee to start-up with them. Then after I got an email from Deborah Steele about our appointment for tomorrow I told her I couldn’t afford it at the moment but if she knew anyone who needed a DJ(since I am a DJ), feel free to send them my way. She responded with this text message: «You should have contacted me and let me know. I will not use someone for anything that makes arrangements with me then cancels when I call. Sorry wasting our time.» WOW, REALLY??? When did it become customary to be rude to potential clients. What she didn’t know was that I was thinking about joining them after I got paid from my job but this response turned me off completely. And then I had a friend who paid $ 2300 for her young daughter and she found out it was a SCAM and had to write a letter to get 80% of her money back. I’ve been modeling for 3 years with an agency and I guess I should have done more research but I know now to NEVER use this company EVER. Thank goodness I didn’t pay anything. I have a friend who is a coordinator for a top global retail chain so she deals with models, photographers, makeup artists, celebrities, and corporate people in the fashion industry all the time and she told me to not use this company either. Everyone in the industry knows their name and will never hire someone who works with them. GOODTOKNOW. I’m with the GETREALAGENCY and I have friends who model with THEHORNEAGENCY&KIMDAWSONAGENCY and they told me the same thing. WOW. It’s funny how things work out. So for all of you perspective models out there, DONOT contact this company for your model/acting career. And you should NEVERPAY for an agency to sponsor you. This is a quote from : Is there a fee to be seen by the agency or to sign with the agency? There is no upfront fee to be with the agency. The Kim Dawson Agency takes a commission for any work that we secure for you. WOW… LIVE&LEARN… GIA!!!
