Highland Deli & Grill

This was a great place to have a lunch! The «Mary, Queen of Scots» chicken salad sandwich lived up to its reputation… quite delicious. It was just the right balance of sweet to the chicken. The tomato basil soup was a nice side to balance out the sweet. We also ordered the Reuben. While it was good, it’s not the best Reuben we’ve ever had… The meat could have been moister. The flavor was good though, and had all of the right elements. The Chicken Edamame Chowder was delicious and just he right amount of spicy.
The staff was friendly and very helpful. The service was very fast. We couldn’t believe how quickly we were served. We would def come back. I wish there was a way to give 4 ½ stars.

One of my regular stops for lunch. I’ve tried every one of the sandwiches at Highland Deli and they are all delicious! My favorites are the Rylee Melt and the Edinburgh Reuben, but seriously, all are so good. Their specials of the day are usually great and are served in huge portions… same with the desserts… always enough for 2 people to share. The staff is always friendly. My tip would be to get there early or call ahead because the small restaurant usually fills up quickly.

Creative crave-​able sandwiches. I love getting the veggie wrap and a side of basil mayo because I am a girl. My man loves the Ellis because it’s spicy and masculine. Seriously delicious and now that they have opened up the pick up area, this place is accessible, fast, and friendly!

You can never go wrong with any choice. The Mary is my favorite! It is their amazing chicken salad on a toasted butter croissant :) so good. The Dunbar is also a very popular choice that is delicious. And to top it off, get the Zapps VooDoo chips. You won’t regret it!

Queen Mary of Scot was great. I was bummed when i found out my order was not the one with the tomato bisque but it was ok. I would go back if I ever go to Carrollton again

I simply have not found a sandwich shop like this in a very long time. Take my word from a real foodie! I am simply blown away by the creativity and quality and taste of there menu. Wow!!!

Omg. The Mary, Queen of Scots may be the best chicken salad sandwich ever. Who serves their CS with a fork? Flaky, almost panini style croissant heaped full with delicious nutty, cranberry, celery chicken salad. Add and pickle and Zappos chips and you are good to go.
It’s a small hole in the wall place. About 10 tables inside. A few outside as well.
Impeccable service. Everything is good on the menu kind of place. Open for lunch until 6pm.
They serve ginger beer too. Must try someday.
Never disappoints with restaurants downtown Carrollton.

I challenge you to find a better sandwich anywhere in the state of Georgia. This place is easily one of the best eats I’ve ever had.

This place is not such a well kept secret when it comes to lunch on the square in downtown Carrollton. The line can be out the door with folks who know that their taste buds are about to come alive with great fresh food!
The Highland Deli & Grill is on the square in downtown Carrollton is a corner space that is small and tight. They prepare fresh deli sandwiches and soup along with a lunch special that might include a bed of rice or past topped with some amazing creation made fresh on the spot.
My wife and I discovered their Chicken Salad sandwich in a pita pocket. It is fantastic. I’ve also had their sample platter a few times that features broccoli, pasta, chicken & fruit salad.
If i were to have one negative about this place is that it’s a bit pricey for lunch — but sometimes freshness and quality just cost a little more. You will need at least $ 7 to eat there. I «highly» recommend Highland!

This place has some of the best soups and sandwiches in town! I like the Aberdeen wrap the best, but there are many good options. It has a great deli atmosphere where you can either dine in or pick up.

The past 10 times I have eaten at the Highland Deli have been great. The specials are usually something interesting, and the soups always deliver.
I think the ventilation might have been upgraded, the restaurant doesn’t smell as strong as it once did. My old review was too harsh, they really do put out consistently good food. I might not agree with some of the prices, and the wraps sometimes have too much continents, but overall it is a good place.
