What a hot mess! Promoting themselves as World’s largest Country Music Festival, it wasn’t even close! Originally scheduled at the Foxhall Resort and Sporting Club in Douglasville, but after«a number of issues developed between the festival promoters and owners of its original venue which they were unable to resolve,» it moved to the VFW Fairgrounds in Carrollton. In addition to the move, it was also announced that it would now be free. All those who had already purchased tickets now had to deal with requesting refunds. They also lost their sponsors, Bud Light and Shocktop, presumably again due to unsolvable issues. The carnival which was supposed to run all week, shut down on Sunday, presumably due to lack of customers. Afterwards I saw several complaints posted on their facebook page which were quickly removed. In fact, their whole page seems to be gone now. Among the complaints are workers who didn’t get paid, vendors who didn’t get paid, and BBQ winners with checks that bounced.
