Surf N Sand Liquors

Good store to run in and grab a bottle of wine or other booze — unfortunately they only had 1 bottle of Riesling in the entire store, which is why they get stars knocked off in my book. Unfortunately, the cork refused to come out of the bottle we bought so we brought it back the next day and the woman graciously and easily took it back for a refund, which we sincerely appreciated. I believe prices are a few bucks higher than I’ve seen elsewhere in PA/​NJ, but a super convenient spot right next to a grocery store so you can get snacks, too!

if you have ever been to Carmel-​by-​the-​Sea then you may understand that the town is walking distance to EVERYTHING but only have 1 grocery store and 2 drugstores (1 carrying more knick-​knacks).
Surf N Sand outranks all the other stores in the area by far. They have been my favorite as a kid to get a candy bar (always had the most unusual for a quarter) or a movie. The place has been updated in the last 20 years to include a sophisticated bar area and liquor selection. With that update that have now been including tastings, the latest for the New Year was Champagne.
Although we did sample some champagne brands that the store did not carry, we were all ensured at the brands would be carried in the store by the next morning, even if stock needed to be bought from other stores. It’s answers like that, that makes me love the place, they are great to their local customer base. Overall this is the neighbor drug store that makes you want to buy something just so you can support them.

I think the highlight of my ⁴⁄₂₀ was stopping into Surf’n Sand for some wine… they didn’t have what I was looking for but do you think I ever leave a wine shop or liquor store in general empty handed? Not a chance Jose.
I was elated to see Mini Sofia Blanc de Blancs (carbonated white wine) in a dark redish borederline magenta hue can with a straw (the best part). I hadn’t seen one since the last time I went to the Francis Ford Coppola Tasting Room 5 or so years ago…
Just gorgeous, simply convenient and a grab and go must! There were only 3 left so obvi I bought all three.
Unfortunately I’m not a pot head, so I’m glad I found something I could relax with after a hectic day. Oh and a case of wine from Trader Joe’s…
