I went to this business because of its Unilocal ratings but I was severely disappointed. I went in looking for CPAP face masks. After trying on 8 different masks I needed to leave for another appointment. At the second appt with them, one week later, I was told that they could not order the mask that i wanted to try on because it was against company policy. UNLESS I bought the mask before their ordering it. They did not want to get stuck with merchandise if I did not buy it. The MANAGERPHIL was responsible for wasting my time and for not ordering the mask that I might have bought. SERVICEWASUNPROFESSIONALANDINEPT. I DONOTRECOMMENDTHISPLACEFORANYONE. I am 64 and I cannot sleep. I wasted 2 weeks with this place and left totally disappointed.

Adjusting to CPAP is not easy. Therefore, it is imperative to have professional guidance and support from a caring team of technicians in the field of respiratory medicine. Luckily, I found such a group just a few miles from home. No one on the staff of Progressive Medical in Carlsbad, California could have been more solicitous during my lengthy adjustment to the new therapy. Lesser professionals may have thrown in the towel, but Phil, Laurie Ann, Jenine, and Kelly always remained courteous, patient, supportive, and optimistic. Kelly, the LVN with whom I have worked most closely, has a relaxed, gentle manner and a quiet confidence bred by more than twenty years of experience in her specialty. She is a real pro!

Well, based upon Lance’s stellar review, I decided to give them a call regarding ordering of CPAP supplies, now that Apria has decided that they longer want anyone with my insurance company as a customer. After first leaving them a message, a lady from their office contacted me about a day later and took all of my information. So far so good. She told me she’d need to check with my doctor and my insurance company to get approval for me to order a new mask, and she would get back to me. Well, that was about 3 weeks ago. Not a very good start in my opinion. I’m waiting for a couple of things to get cleared off my plate so I’ll have the funds to order the mask, and perhaps I will try them again, or maybe she’ll get back to me eventually?: / Either way, if I have a further update, I’ll be sure and post it.

When I was diagnosed with sleep apnea I asked my insurance carrier who was in network. They gave me the name of their provider but then I asked another friend who they used to supply them with a CPAP and supplies and they introduced me to Progressive Medical. It was the best referral that I have ever had. I called their office at 800−491−2292 and they took my information over the phone. They contacted my doctor and got all of the necessary prescriptions and paperwork necessary to work with me and bill my insurance. They sent me a packet of paperwork to be filled out via email and scheduled an appointment for me to come to their office. When I went to their office — at the scheduled time, they immediately looked over my paperwork and went over my financial responsibility after billing my insurance. They showed me a video of what was going on while I slept and educated me about sleep apnea and what could happen if not treated. I had no idea that sleep apnea was so dangerous. They had me lie down while they fitted me with several different masks. They spent over one hour with me to make sure that I was comfortable with how to use the machine and mask. I made a follow-up appointment for 3 days later and went home. I slept on the machine every night for at least 4 — 5 hours/night even though the mask was not easy to relax with. The therapist called me to inquire how I was doing after the first night and I told him that it was really hard for me to lay on my side with the mask that I was given. He told me to continue to keep trying and that he would be able to make adjustments after my scheduled visit. Three days later I returned to Progressive Medical and waited while the therapist downloaded the information in my machine. I was shown the report and they explained what was happening and why they needed to make a few adjustments to my machine & to my mask. I was re-fitted with a different mask and returned home. I noted that the adjustment and mask change helped and I was able to sleep on my side for 7 — 8 hours per night. If Progressive Medical had not taken the time they spent with me, I probably would not be able to use the CPAP that is necessary for me. I feel wonderful now with more energy and zest for life. Thank you Progressive Medical.

If you are cursed with sleep apnea like me, this is the best place to go for treatment. The nice folks who work for Progressive Medical are consummate professionals who really take the time to listen to their clients, and fully read and interpret doctor recommendations to advise you of your best possible treatment for sleep apnea. I was referred to them by UCSD Medical for a sleep apnea device(ResMed Autoset II), and they not only provided the device, but took the time to ensure that I had the best, most comfortable fit(let’s face it, wearing a bomber pilot’s mask to bed is not that comfortable or intuitive), made sure that I fully understood the operation of the device, and had me come back for regular follow-up visits to monitor my progress and make sure the device was still working well for me. Everyone who works there is very polite, and they don’t waste your time by making you wait around for your appointment. The longest I’ve ever had to wait was five minutes. I feel more like a friend than a client whenever I visit their office. Thanks to Progressive Medical and my ResMed Autoset II, I’m finally getting good-quality sleep at long last.
