Really fresh fish. Need I say more? Dropped by Starbucks for coffee and stumbled in. What a find. I’ve driven by this area so many times. Now I have a reason to stop.

Excellent! I love this place. The lobster tacos are amazing and the New England clam chowder is to die for.

My husband picked up a lobster and clam chowder yesterday for Valentine’s day today… Both were so good. The lobster was so moist and sweet. I steamed it in my rice cooker. I would buy all of my fish from them in the future. Good news… a great sea food store nearby… also want to go in and eat at the Café next time. Thanks xoox

This is THE local fish market for south Carlsbad and this crew does a great job. Get some poke and head to the beach!

I ordered the seabass plate and it was terrible… It was chewy, dry and flavorless. My husband ordered the ahi tuna sandwich and he liked it.

Awesome little spot tucked away in the shopping center west off Poinsettia exit. Fresh fish market that also serves up the goods. Sandwiches, plates, tacos and clam chowder feature on the menu. I ordered the combo taco plate, fish and shrimp taco, Which came with rice and a type of slaw(non mayo based) so it was actually kinda nice. I did also have to get some chowder, New England style although they did offer the manhattan which I don’t see that much in San Diego. Everything tasted as it should and I am happy to pin this place on my fish taco map. I will for sure be back to sample more of the menu but so far so good. Also good to know about a fresh fish market.

Overpriced in my opinion. The calamari was pretty good; this is an item I get pretty much everytime across the board if it’s on a restaurants menu. The Loco Moco original soup was killer and the chowdah was great. The customer service was«meh» at best. No smiles, no greeting, place was a little dirty and we paid what I thought was a bit much. Would come back for the food though so I guess you could call that a win for them.

In general food was good. Husband & I loved the Manhattan clam chowder. I really liked my fish & shrimp tacos & un-creamy(no mayo) coleslaw. Husband had ahi sandwich– review is «just ok, too much bread(prefers a bun) and it had a lack of flavor.

I have always had great experiences at Pelly’s until today. My husband and I arrived at 3:02 on New Year’s Eve. There was a sign outside that said closed, however the door was open, fish case was full and there were a bunch of employees behind the case. I asked«Are you closed?» and an employee announced that they closed at 3. I asked if we could buy fish and he said no. Very disappointing considering that there was already a line of customers. I am surprised that they didn’t want my business. I will never go to Pelly’s again.

Everything I’ve tried from Pelly’s has been great. Lately I like the clam chowder and the smoked salmon. The sandwiches are great. The atmosphere isn’t anything special, but the staff are always friendly and almost always busy.

Loved this place. Everything was fresh, chowder was excellent, rice was a little bland to me. But I’m used to AZ spicy. A must do food stop.

I ordered seabass with rice and i didnt like it. Doesnt taste fresh, it was chewy. Service was slow. Although salad is fresh, not enough dressing though. Clam chowder is alright just need more flavor in it. Will probably not come back, kinda frustrated since it has 4 stars review here. But my expectations not met.

We came for the fresh oysters and left with a happy stomach! After a long day of walking around at the outlets and exploring Carlsbad my boyfriend and I decided to stop here to get some fresh oysters. The location is a little hard to find because it is lodged in a little corner of the plaza but after a little searching we found it. We ordered two dozen oysters and crab cakes a la carte. The oysters were delicious. The crab cakes moist and cooked to perfection. After finishing our food we were really tempted to order another dozen of oysters but we had to stop ourselves.

Been here a couple times. Clam chowder is decent 3/5, not the best i’ve ever had. Sadly, I’d give Boudin better ratings on the clam chowder. The fish sandwiches however are really delicious. I’d recommend the sea bass sandwich with avocado and extra sauce. Healthy delicious meal. The coleslaw is old tasting

I think I’m spoiled living in Orange County with access to so many wonderful seafood restaurants. I was excited to see such a highly rated establishment but my tummy was not as happy as it thought it would be. We ordered the calamari sandwhich, crab and shrimp sandwhich, an order of clam chowder, and some of their Ono salad. The best thing we had was the Ono salad, which was refreshing, and very dilly. I think if they used a different bread for their sandwhich and toasted the bread, it would have improved the sandwhich to the next level. They use sourdough sandwhich bread, which probably would’ve tasted better if the bread was toasted. The clam chowder didn’t taste clammy enough, we’ve had better. They have very quaint decorations, walls filled with fishing photos and bathrooms painted with an ocean mural. It must be a Carlsbad thing because we noticed the same theme at the Beach Break Café.

Visited on 9÷5÷15: We got a bit lost in the shopping plaza but with 4 eyes we finally found it near the Starbucks. It was part fish market, part restaurant. We ordered fish tacos, shrimp taco, lobster taco, and crab cakes. The food was incredible, moist, cooked to perfection, and fresh. There was also homemade Mexican slaw and Spanish rice with it.

This is my go-to fish shop. Always new fresh stuff. Prices are on par. Staff is super helpful, they always fillet something for me on the spot. Check out my photo, Alaskan Halibut filleted before my eyes. Yes please.

Here for a weekday lunch. Boston clam chowder — lightly creamy, flavors of clam and plenty of clam meat, potatoes still retains this texture. One of best ones I’ve had. The sandwiches were delicious, except I wish the breads were toasted because after awhile the bread becomes soaked and too soft. The texture was coming apart. 1. Sea Bass sandwich — the fish was so juicy!!! No complains! 2. Crab sandwich — it’s crab, generously packed in the sandwich. Side salad is refreshing, but then again, the seafood sandwich themselves are already pretty light, maybe a bit heavier side salad will be okay too, but too bad there isn’t an option.

This is a solid seafood market /restaurant that sells pretty yummy fish tacos — definitely bigger and better than the average. One taco fills me up! The seafood is fresh, being less than a mile away from the ocean, and the variety is well-rounded — they sell crab, scallops, fish, etc.

My girlfriend came to visit me at work and took me here for some seafood tacos. We got it to go to eat at the beach(so romantic of her, lol). I got the lobster taco plate and she got the calamari taco plate, it comes with spanish rice and cole slaw which wasn’t bad even though I’m not a cole slaw person. I also got a side of clam chowder cup(Boston kind), they also have Manhattan clam chowder as well, but I’m a Boston girl, gotta have my clam chowder. Everything was delicious and while I didn’t eat in here, the place looks like it’s worth a stop for dinner one night soon.

Pellys is nestled in a small plaza next to Starbucks and a few other small businesses. You order first then find a table to eat. We sat outside on a lovely day and it was perfect. Ordered a bowl of there clam chowder and a shrimp and lobster taco plate. Everything was absolutely delicious! Good generous portions of seafood in the tacos and the rice and slaw were really seasoned well and complimented the tacos. Theres a good display of fresh seafood you can also order at market price. Overall great place for a casual seafood fix, bathrooms are in a separate area upstairs in building with a code or just use the restrooms in starbucks haha. Would definitely recommend this place for a fresh seafood meal.

Cute little fish market where you order your food at the counter and there is seating both inside and outside. The prices weren’t cheap for a counter-order place, but the fish was delicious so I think worth the price(12+ dollars for a salad, etc). My parents were obsessed with the clam chowder and I had a seafood salad. They sure didn’t skimp on the seafood! It was loaded with crab and shrimp and the homemade dressings were bomb! My dad had the daily special — crab cakes, and we thought those were delicious as well. Great lunch spot — check out for a quick bite the next time you are down in Calrsbad!

I live close and have been coming here forever! The dine in food is delicious; Claim chowder and any fish sandwich. However I mainly stop in to buy fresh fish to take home. I usually buy the salmon and tuna. It is such good quality, and fresh. The fish is also sushi grade which is even better, I love making my own sushi at home. The staff is friendly and they get you in and out quickly. There tends to be some big lines. Pelly’s is like a hidden gem, hiding in the shopping center, you would never know its even there. Skip the fish at the market and come to Pelly’s! It is definitely worth the couple extra dollars.
