Went to them many years ago in the mid ‘90s at previous office location. Had not been to a dentist for a little over a year but normally didn’t need much work. They wanted to fill or re-fill half of my mouth, deep root planing throughout, and on and on… amazingly, the exact same treatment plan they recommended to my friend who had just gone to them, around $ 4K in treatment, which is a lot now let alone back then. Front desk staff refused to give me a copy of the plan breakdown and costs of this extensive treatment stating that I «might go somewhere else to compare»…really? Would that be a bad thing? And they kept telling me if money was a problem, not to worry as they worked in conjunction with a credit card company… who charged 23% interest. I passed on that treatment plan and saw a different dentist within a year after, who was shocked when I told him what they were recommending. I’ve never before and never since had so much work recommended, just regular cleanings, a filling here, a crown there. I’ve used three dentists since then and not one has ever recommended such and extensive and expensive treatment plan. It is very sad when medical providers take on the approach of commission-based salesmen. Sad indeed. Perhaps they’ve changed their approach in their new location… but I’m not wasting the time finding out.
