Barry Shepard Finish Carpenter

Barry did an outstanding job on our wall unit. It was quite a difficult task as it needed to match a built-​in wall unit already in place. It was perfect! the style, the stain-​everything about it was perfect. He spent a lot of time before the building of it going over the other unit to make sure he would have it perfect. He came up with very creative ideas which I had not thought of. It was outstanding. He is easy to work with and is a perfectionist. We have received several compliments on the new unit.

I first met Barry a few years ago when I contracted him for small job installing some crown molding in our kitchen that was being renovated. He did such an awesome job, he was the first person I thought of when we decided to have a custom closet organizer built for our walk-​in closet in the master bedroom. He did an excellent job from start to finish. He was very patient and thorough as he worked worked with me to draw out designs, and when I would later change my mind about something, he just rolled with it. He was great at listening to what I wanted and making that work rather than trying to convince me to do something different. Everything is now installed complete with lots of drawers, cubby’s, a floor to ceiling shoe rack, curved hanging bars in the corners, etc. and it looks fantastic! I showed a picture of it to a friend and she thought I was showing her a picture from the internet — like a model dream closet organizer. =)
I would absolutely recommend Barry! Just don’t keep him too busy because I’ll be using him for future projects. ;)

Barry did a wonderful job transforming my son’s ordinary bedroom into an amazing kid hang out with a platform bed/​desk area with shelves, separated from a lower bed/​sitting area. The best part is a tall vertical cabinet that appears to be a coat closet but has a hidden panel in the back to access a secret fort underneath the platform. The fort is big enough to hold a double futon and has primitive shelving for boy treasures. Barry based the design off a photograph my son found when he googled «awesome teenager bedrooms,» although it had to be scaled down quite a bit for a smaller room. Now, I think my son’s room could be featured on the «awesome teenagers bedrooms» site!

Barry came a second time to re-​do a ktichen Pantry and add wainscotting chair– rail to our entry. Our neighbors liked it so much, they will be calling him.

From the start to finish, Barry was professional and pleasant. He modified a built-​in entertainment center to accommodate out huge TV. The final product looks as though it has always been there, seamless!
Hire Barry, he is a true professional. Did I mention his prices are very reasonable?!

We picked Barry to do a cabinet with bookcase in our family room. He had to modify our fireplace mantle and matched the style exactly to our specifications. His expert work on the crown molding was incredible. He is a true craftsmen. He also did everything on time and was very attentive to our every need. We highly recommend him, and he is a nice guy.

I had another project to do at my home. This time it was an entertainment unit for the family room. So I gave Barry a call and met with him. The design he came up with after expressing our needs was more than we expected, my wife and I just loved it. We hired him to do the work and as usual he came through for us. Thank you Barry for your professionalism.

Got advertisement for this man in magazine/​mailer and then read positive review on « Unilocal» so arranged for him to do some work. Came when he said he would, did what he said he’d do for the (fair) price he said he’d do it for. Very quality work. What more could you ask for? I highly recommend.
