Medley’s Carlisle Hardware has been family owned for more than ten years and I’m pretty sure for decades and generations before that! (by other families though). ;-)
Tim Medley (also my dad) owns and manages the store and ever since I was a kid I remember he always gave us kids a lollipop and the towns’ folk free coffee all day long. There’d be a huge burlap bag of peanuts by the front door during the Fall. Not only could a local farmer get anything he needed from this store, but Tim could get anything he didn’t have on hand for him. From propane, to paint, to canning equipment, and bigger things, Tim takes care of business. I remember he used to re-​screen porch screen doors for little old ladies and he still gives kids the same lollipops and that makes me happy. Great little store with lots of historic character and good country people.
