Carlisle Family YMCA

The classes are great! Spin, yoga, run clinic and best of all the master swim program. The YMCA meets all my expectations plus helps the community. I would like to see a new and improved YMCA with spray grounds and kids pools. Not the best for kids under 16 that need supervised.

I sometimes wonder what this facility is thinking. We have been members here for years and «stuck with them» even though other competitors have opened close by and are less expensive. HOWEVER, they continue to drive away their members with new, ridiculous policies that make absolutely no sense. When asked why policies change (especially for youth programs), they have yet to respond with an adequate answer. They closed the Youth Fitness Center and have yet to offer an alternative for children aged 9 – 13. It is time for us to find an alternate gym so we don’t have to struggle with new policies every few months that effect our membership.

A couple months ago– I went in to sign up for a monthly membership and the rates were so ridiculous, I decided to take my business somewhere else even though they were just across the street from me.
Today– I decided to try to take my daughter swimming on this Hot Summer Saturday. I decided on some place close so I figured I could pay for the cost of a day. After I spent most of the afternoon shopping for my 3 year olds swim suit and toys. I called the Y to see what their rate was for the day… after calling 3 times a guy answered the phone and said they are closed at 5pm. I asked again «You’re telling me you are closed at 5 on a Sat?» He said that was their summer hours. So after all this, I am so relieved I don’t pay for a membership. What a lousy way to run a business and not good for the money you spend.

Badly needs some updating and the pool is freezing cold, but it’s rarely crowded and the staff is friendly

The Carlisle YMCA is a great place to find a quality pickup basketball game. They also have a full gym and a lap pool.
