Quite certainly the worst attitude I’ve ever encountered with a physician, this smug doctor seems not to understand what he’s doing and has absolutely no empathic qualities whatsoever. He is rude, deadpan and provides a presence that you instinctively want to remove yourself from right from the get go. I wouldn’t send my family or loved ones to this doctor, ever.

Our family has been patients of Dr Hasenauer since he first started practicing in Capitola at least 15 years ago. He is an excellent doctor! We can usually get a same day appointment, and even tho he has a busy practice, he gives his time and attention to your issues. He does not mess around if he thinks a specialist is in order. He will refer you without delay! Dr. H has a great dry sense of humor, but is very business like. we have referred many people to him over the years, all of which have referred their friends and family. Our adult children chose their medical insurance based on Dr H remaining their physician.

I saw Dr. Hasenauer late last year because I needed a new doctor, and because I had had a new medical condition emerge. Essentially, my first, and only, visit with him felt like an interrogation. When I had a difficult time answering a question, he became openly frustrated with me, leaving me feeling pretty demoralized at the end of the visit. He was rude, impatient and condescending towards me. In hindsight, I should have just walked out; his clinic didn’t deserve to get paid for my business, and I didn’t deserve to be treated so poorly.
The clinic overall is quite poor. The waiting area is dim, decorated in old (but workable) furniture. The reception desk is pretty depressing looking and staff there are only helpful as much as minimally needed. It has been easy to make appointments (I did try one other doctor, but with no luck). I get the feeling that this clinic spends as little as possible on making it a welcoming place to visit, both clinic and doctor-​wise.
Even if I could walk to this place, I wouldn’t go there, and I wouldn’t recommend anyone else to do so, either.

I have been seeing Dr Hasenauer for about 15 years. A Dr is only as good as his diagnosis and I have found Dr Hasenauer’s diagnosis 100% correct! Wonderful bedside manner as well…

I have been seeing Dr Hasenauer for some years. He is a very good doctor who is focused and timely. He is also pointed and (some may say) blunt. Don’t go to him if you want three choruses of ‘Kumbaya’…you’ll not get. His job is to get to the point of what’s wrong and fix it or recommend. He has helped me through: acoustic neuroma, Sleep apnea, depression and some other but minor items. He has helped my wife through major carotid artery problems. My family trusts him.

Dr. Hasenauer seems to be a very intelligent and thoughtful Doctor. He was helpful and to the point. I would go see him again.

I sawn Dr. Hasenauer for the first time yesterday and won’t be going back. His bedside manner was terrible — he barely made eye contact and did not seem interested in me or my medical questions.
