Fast Eddy’s Billiards

Fast eddy’s rocks; sweet juke box and pool tables, good pitchers and great people. Went here on my 3^rd date with my future wife, and it was perfect. Highly recommended. Don’t forget about the foosball table in the back!

This place is awesome! I come here all the time and have never had a problem at all, the beer is cheap, the sticks are way better than at surf city and the staff is way cooler, wish there was more varieties of IPA but they did add 2 more quite recently.

We just went to FAST EDDYS to play pool … lots of fun. now I am not billiard brawler. I barely hit the cue stick into the ball and I am not even sure that is what you call them. the place open and airy so no one can really tell if you suck like I do. I mean, I am really good at lots of things. baking, bbq’ing, quilting, horses, nutrition. but playing pool is not one of them… it makes it nice when I can practice and play with no pressure and no one eagle eyeing me!
I hate that! There you are. staring down this long polished stick … and there they are. the lurkers. all watching to see you either eat it or make it. its stressful man! For reals! Like watch your own game so I can pretend I am a pool shark over hereah! (((Yes HEREAH IS A WORD!!)))) But alas. there you are. skunking it in front of the looky-​loos! :/​UGH
HAHA Well, not at Fast Eddys. people seem to mind their own business and though once in a while you get someone making eye contact, its not in the aggressive gang banger bar brawl competitive stare down kind. not yet anyways.
Back in the day this place used to have quite the few homie G’s wanting to throw down left and right. but luckily that fad has seemed to mellow down quite a bit. at least the couple times I have come in lately. Seems to be more of a mellow cool crowd who likes pool, poker and small talk. Sounds good to me!

I love fast eddies!!! Had my eighteenth birthday here and I plan to have another birthday here.
I have never had a bad experience with this pool hall.
I would most definitely recommend this place to everyone!
I especially love ladies night. Free pool for two hours with a purchase of drink! What’s not to like about that???

I just recently started going to Fast Eddy, s because I find, as a woman it. s difficult to go out alone without feeling uncomfortable. From the first time I set foot in there, I was greeted so warmly by the staff and patrons. It felt as though I had been going there for decades! It’s a place like Fast Eddy’s, that makes it ok for women to step out on your own. So ladies, we don’t have to stay home feeling lonely or bored when we have such a cool pool hall that is clean and great for people watching, watching sports, etc It is so big that it surprises me because although they’re a lot of people having fun, you always have enough room without feeling crowded al all. And last but not least, they have great munchies! #1 reason I go to Fast Eddy’s is the staff. Super «fast’, hugely sweet, helpful …#2 The clientele. Super nice, very welcoming. Doesn’t matter how many people are in and out of there, the whole place is CLEAN.

Stopped in last Saturday for a beer after going for a (bike ride) route-​scout with my girl who was gonna be riding her unicycle (I rode my rode-​bike:) in the Mermaid Duathlon the next day. I’ve been there before so I knew it was a bit dark and probably would be quite on a Saturday afternoon. We arrived with an expired Groupon, expecting to have one beer after our ride to Freedom Blvd. and ended up spending a couple of hours, watching football, golf and having lunch from Takara with our new friend Todd (manning the bar) and a couple of other nice guys who were friends of his. Stopping in there was the perfect fit before cleaning-​up and heading off to our first party… I was having so much fun talking sports and just shootin’-the-shit it was hard to leave.

Too bad this place isn’t maintained better. Good thing the tables are in better shape than the bathrooms. On the up side, The tables are kept up pretty well and the place isn’t very busy most times — so you usually get to pick whatever table you like best!

Have you ever had a craving for a steak? No side dishes, no sauces or toppings, just a slab of beef, with maybe a little dash of salt and pepper at most? Well sometimes I feel the same way about my bars (and pool halls). Sometimes I don’t need my bar to have a bunch of signature cocktails, artistic lighting, and unique décor. Sometimes I just want to post up with a cold beer or a neat bourbon and have an unassuming kind of evening. Fast Eddy’s is your typical dirty dive billiard and bar that hasn’t changed in decades. I’ve never had a bad time there, the staff is always very friendly, and it’s a great place to unwind after work. The best part of all is that it turns out that hipsters are like zombies: it’ll take em awhile to wander away from their hubs. It’s proximity away from UCSC and downtown SC has allowed it to remain hipster free and proud.

This is a very unique and interesting place. I have gone there for years and every time I greeted by friendly staff. I love how they have up and downstairs pool tables, darts and sports tv’s. It is a great place to go with a group of people and grab a pitcher of beer and enjoy the night.

Imagine if someone threw a party at a billiards club in 1982 and never cleaned up.
I don’t mind dive bars, but this is a pool hall, at least get some sticks that aren’t more crooked than a… nevermind.

I love this place. Yeah, it’s a dive, but it’s a fun place to hang out for cheap. Also, the owner is a really friendly guy. Tuesday’s are Ladie’s Night, so ladies get to play for free if they buy a drink (it can be soda or red bull if you’re under 21) or some food. Pretty good deal if you ask me :)

I like this place. I never go there to actually play pool, nor have I been there in the evening. I usually go there after the wife and I have gotten a massage down the street at China Massage. If she also wants to get a manicure and pedicure after the massage then I go to Fast Eddy’s.
I like the place. It’s definitely a dive bar kind of Tenderloiny but they always have sports on the TV, the beers are cold and cheap and the bar stools are comfortable. I really don’t see anything not to like.

I do not care for this place at all. I guess it is a good place to go if there are no other pool tables open at any other pools halls in Santa Cruz. I would definitely rather go to Surf City Billiards. The only reason I even gave this one star, besides the point that I can’t rate it a 0, is that the girl that was at the front desk was really nice. Other than that, I felt dirty walking in there, and the bathroom is disgusting. The women’s bathroom door has a crack in-​between the door and the wall; luckily the toilet isn’t right in view of the door. The toilet seat is old and dirty and I didn’t even want to touch the walls in there or even the sink! I definitely think they need to make some upgrades or at least clean the place.

Had a great time there the other night brought my friends in for some pool and beers. Great tables up kept nicely, and jute box.

Fast Eddy’s gets a 4 star rating from me simply because it’s so nice to actually see a pool hall/​billards place that’s fun, rowdy, and what you would consider, the *typical* pool hall scene. Yeah.
I think I had one of my movie moments, where I felt like I was in «Dazed and Confused» while I was playing pool here. The energy emanating from the patrons here will definitely get you pumped up to drink beer, play pool and have a great time. The music selection is quirky– they played everything from Lady Gaga’s «Bad Romance» to Guns and Roses’s «Sweet Child o Mine». And most importantly, the pool hall area was large and clean! They have 2 stories, with 3 different rooms to play pool in, so you don’t bump into people as they’re gearing up to take the shot at the 8 ball.
As I look into my magic 8 ball, I for see that I will be visiting Fast Eddy’s more in the future!

Now, while I am not the best pool player in the world, I love fast eddy’s!
I went there for a friend birthday, and because the place is all ages we thought why not? Friendly staff, nice place, we ended up getting the back room and just had so much fun all night.
One less star because of only serving beer and wine. Oh well, I made due on Mike’s Hard Lemonade haha.

Fast eddy’s is your classic pool hall and dive bar combined into one.
They have a downstairs and upstairs with plenty of tables. The crowd is mixed from old to young and on Tuesday nights, ladies play for free. It’s perfect place to chill with a group of people, or even hang with a few just a few friends.
The french fries and mozzarella sticks are actually really good. Good beer and pitchers are decent priced. It’s about $ 1 to play a song on the jukebox. Really not matter what night of the week your come or who you come with you’re sure to have a great time at Fast Eddy’s.

My friend Jill’s dad use to own this place. I do not know who owns it now. This was back in the 80s when I lived around the corner, rode a 1965 Norton motorcycle, drank hard, and fought every night. I also hung out with about twenty other people who fit the same bill, so we all fit in with the rest of the crowd. Though I have changed over the years, this place has not and neither have the people who hangout here. Good luck – remember to duck when a pool stick comes a swinging at you.

I wouldn’t venture in to Fast Eddies with out a hand gun, body guard, or a LARGE group of BIG friends. In fact, i’m slightly afraid to leave a bad review for fear i might get stabbed, but my brother really liked this place a lot before he moved, and never seemed to have any trouble. I guess its a good place to go if your looking for a bar/​pool hall that fits the «tough guy» crowd.

Ah some good times are to be had here…
Granted it is not the safest of places or the best looking nor does it have the greatest crowd in the world but if you enter with a live and let live approach to life then you should come out just fine. And for gods sake please make it seem like you are a local and not some «culledge edujidicated brat».
My first suggestion is to go on tuesday nights with a bunch of girls and then you can get in and play the billiards for free. Tuesday is ladies night if you hadn’t figured it out.
Other than that I also suggest that you always go with a group consisting of at least two or three decently sized men just for a psychological deterrent to the rougher types wanting to prove something.
