Stopped in for breakfast when we stayed in Santa Cruz a month ago. It was a pretty good spot. Had eggs over easy, hashbrows, etc… it was all good. Can’t complain.

I love this place! Here are the good and bad points in a nutshell: Good: –Great food!!! I’ve only had breakfast here and it’s amazing! The scrambles are delicious. –Inexpensive– prices are cheap –Never a wait– I have been here a bunch of times and never waited for breakfast(which is more than i can say for every other breakfast place in Santa Cruz!) –They give you tons of food! You get your money’s worth here for sure! –Nice waiters– they are awesome and it’s always the same waiters. Very friendly and willing to help– they’ve never messed up my order and they’re quick. –I can get in and out of here on a weekend for breakfast in under an hour. Bad: –It’s not the nicest, ritziest place in town. It’s a bit dumpy and the décor is horrible, but in that regard– you get what you pay for. –It’s not«cool» to eat here. So many people in Santa Cruz are very concerned with that so if you are– this is not your place. It won’t get you the same social status as the Harbor Café ;) Overall — i love this place. It’s a great deal and I don’t go anywhere else for breakfast in Santa Cruz!

The only way to make Lyons worse: Change the name, and up the price. They get two stars instead of one, because my grandma loves them. But she loves them because she likes her food blander than water. And bland food if one thing these folks deliver on. If your one of those people that get heartburn from drinking milk, Go here! I don’t think one person has ever left this place thinking«wow, that food was too seasoned!»

Not a place to go for breakfast if you are on a budget. I had gone for dinner and had a steak on their«new reduced price menu» which I really enjoyed. It looks like they have some breakfast deals during the week but not on the weekends. The cheapest omelette is $ 10 and I do not think it is worth the price.

I used to go here frequently because I got AA miles, but they don’t do that anymore. My BF and I have been here many times and he always tries something different. Unfortunately, it’s always horrible. I keep it safe with a salad or the burger, which used to be «build-your-own» which was awesome! Always a good burger, but not anymore. They’ve recently changed their menu and did away with the build-your-own, too bad, the burger I got was not very good and my stomach told me so later. The fries weren’t even that great either… and they always have all you can eat fries… nasty! The BF got the seafood platter and it that was the worst dish he’s ever had, he should’ve known better. The garlic mashed potatoes were okay, but the veggies were plain jane! No seasoning or anything on them. The service isn’t even all that great either. After going the other day for my burger, we have decided to never go back.

On the site that used to be Lyon’s Restaurant. If you love garlic and onions you will like this place better than I. The only sandwich that doesn’t have onion on the menu is the fish sandwich. When I ordered it, it came with onions. Not once, but two days in a row. There is garlic in the mashed potatoes, soups, and some of the breads. There are onions even in the club sandwich. The French fries are good and usually fill up half of the plate. You can have seconds on the fries!(They don’t have garlic!) They have an extensive dessert menu.
